Great knuckle shots!
Excellent! I feared I was going to have to sit through endless droning vocals. ( some people love the sound of their own voice- apparently ) I feel pretty much good to go after the first viewing - but will probably watch it again before I do go in.
Great video Nelson. Great explanation of whats going on. I followed your video pulled mine apart then you lost me, because all i could see was knuckles so ended up throwing the whole thing in the bin!
Hi, i did this mod on a EU H501SS latest stock firmware (but modded to remove height limit) and it worked perfectly for me. Noticed a 25% increase in FPV signal strength. Best part was it removed completely the FPV cut out when the drone was facing the wrong direction at range.
wow a work of art.....thanks that was great. wish that was stock
awesome video friend, i just got my one :) this mod looks really iteresting
Hey Nelson! Looks you know how the things work! In my experience, the range of H501S rather limited by battery life. I flown at 1,8 km and went towards the quad to meet it 500 m earlier. With its GPS speed 5 ms even moderate wind makes it slower and 2 km takes 16 min in ideal conditions. The weakest thing in H501S is its camera with shaky video. What I would make if had your skills its to put a stabilized camera instead of the stock one. To get nice footage I attach SJCam to quad. But it gives additional 70 grams and shortens battery life to 12-14 min. If to remove internal battery of SJCam, case and screen and to connect it to H501S main board - it would be at least DJI Spark quality with better flight time and far less price. And if to put inside (disassembled) newly released Gitup F1 - it would be almost Mavic.
well done nelson lee!
Would love to know how the mod turned out for a range test etc
Hi folks. Prop guards. Mine would not sit down properly. Screw boss in guards was 7 mm diameter, receiving hole in lantern was 6 mm. I carefully drilled it out to 7 mm using a succession of drills and now have a perfect fit. BobUK. [Edit for *really* bad spelling!]
The Cloverleaf is best suited for the transmitter, and almost exclusively used for this purpose. It has an excellent radiation pattern and very low gain. It’s also possible to achieve a perfect 1.0 SWR, making it very efficient. It is not the ideal antenna to use on the receiver though. The reverse polarization rejection pattern is very erratic and varies between -8 and 19dBi.
Buen video y escelente modificacion para mejorar el alcance del fpv de este pequeño pero gran dron. Gracias por tus videos
You''re welcome sir.
bom video, estamos sempre a aprender
Did the location you installed the 5.8ghz antenna improve your video or do you wish you located it somewhere else? I bought both the lead and that antenna to install as soon as I hear from you. Thanks
Yes, well, obviously you need to install the SMA connector for the external aerial so that its terminals are not shorted together when you close the case and do not touch the camera. Measure twice, drill once! Also, you need to check the polarisation of your transmitter and receiver aerials, they need to be the same, both left hand polarised or both right hand, not one of each! It's not going to work well with a polarised antenna on the drone and a dipole in the transmitter. For those who really don't know much, both must also be designed for the 5.8 GHz frequency band. If doing these mods you must do your research first, otherwise when it does n't work it is your fault. I have the same prop guards and on my 501ss they do not sit down properly. There is a little tab inside the guard housing that is just a bit too wide to engage in the matching slot on the 501 leg lantern. Easily fixed with a thin file or piece of emery cloth. BobUK.
Very good advice...I have heard mixed results about antenna mods, but from my own experience on my H107D, I got even worse performance after installing an Aomway upgraded antenna kit. The IPEX cable kept coming off, and when I finally did get it to stay on, the video reception was only about 10 feet before fuzzing out. I went back to the stock antennas and haven't had a problem since. Polarization, maybe? How do you check?
Great mods have you gained distance with your fpv antenna?👍
Awesome video! What antenna would you recommend for the FPV on the basic transmitter? It seems since I updated my firmware to Superflyer , the signal seems week. You make this update look easy and I love the way it looks!
Actually difficult to tell you wish fpv antenna is good to recommend you, difference user got difference thinking.
Plz update with the range results. You do very clean work.
After the mod, was the fpv ok? Many peoplr said their fpv screen was blank after the antenna mod.
Hi Nelson, good work. Very impressed.
Could you tell me if you have tested it?
What's the result?
Do you think also to do inside the drone 2.4ghz antenna mod (if necessary and if could be done?)
What firmware?
Hi, Actually i still no time to fully test it yet. My current firmware is: H906A=V1.1.2, H501S=V1.2.9, FC=V1.1.21 You no need to mod the 2.4g antenna,if you want to get more far range i advise you watch this: czcams.com/video/Jmg_duJSeWM/video.html Download the free router booster (Windsurfer) template here: www.tomstechtime.com/antenna
loved the video. seeing that ,i want to do my x4 501a. could you please tell me which antenna clip is for the fpv, and which for the wifi. i feel like you will no this. hubsan tech couldn't or would not tell. : ) you do great work..thanks for taking the time to show everyone. ted
Thank you for posting this. Did the battery fit in its compartment after the XT60 mod?
Regards,
David
David Mifsud can fit in but difficult to close the window.
nelson... you are happy about this antenna; I have the same but once installed it I lost the picture. Can you help;
You really know your way around this quad. I downloaded this video for future reference. My H501s arrived today, and I have been unable to find the microphone - not even in the exploded view. I assume video is recorded with audio, so there must be a microphone in there someplace. Do you know where? Thanks.
marjamada There is no build in microphone for this drone.
Thank you, now I know. I want to do this antenna mod as you did, but I want to know first if it improved your video reception. Also, my H501s will not record video or photos on either of two new Micro SD cards. Do you know if the card must be like Class 10 or such? I have advanced Tx, press ENTER (video) and screen says "Put throttle down" - huh? I press EXIT and nothing happens. Card is inserted as per icon on quad.
Hi Nelson, this is a great video and the external antenna looks really good! However, I have seen where several people have asked you about improved video reception with this modification, and you have been oddly silent on the subject. I am also keen to know how this modification performs under various conditions. Since you have not responded so far, I can only imagine that it must not be any better, and might even be worse than the stock antenna?
There are many variables that can affect reception over long distances, but there are videos of many people getting well over 2 Km with the stock FPV antenna. How much better can it get with a 20 mw single channel system? I think that without other significant upgrades, it will be very difficult to beat the stock tuned antenna system.
I am very tempted to do this mod because I like the look, and would like to experiment with other antenna's. However I am concerned that I will spend time and money on this only to end up with a system with lower performance. Again, I can only assume this is why you do not comment on performance, if I am wrong please let us know.
etmichel Hi thanks for your comments, actually I also just like the look then only mod for it, so far I didn't get get any difference between stock antenna and mod, I mod this is not because for the range and by the way this drone I am not use to fly long range, i buy it just for fly fun and usually most of the time I fly my DJI Phantom 3 Advanced only for long range.
Thanks for the quick reply, I kind of figured... I am new to the RC hobby but have some RF engineering experience. From what I can see all of these antenna systems have pros and cons. As for what works best it really depends on what sort of environment you plan to operate in, and how you want to fly it. These clover antennas seem best for aerobatics in relatively short range congested (noisy) environments. Which is probably why they are commonly used on racing quads.
However for longer range in open areas a dipole might perform better. Regardless I think having the ability to use different antennas, adjust position, and optimiz length (tune), could yield some benefit and be a fun little project.
This is my first drone and I think it is a great starter for learning, and if I lose it I will be far less upset than if it was a much higher cost version. I am already eyeing the mavic, and maybe a little walkera FPV racer for down the road. For now I am learning and having fun with this hubsan. Thanks again for the video, it was really well done and helped me feel comfortable about opening it up for modification.
etmichel Walkera CES 2017 launch one model called Walkera Vitus, it look similar to Mavic Pro but the price is half less than Mavic Pro. I think their will officially sell it on this March 2017.
Thanks for the tip, looks interesting.
feel free to watch the trailer here: czcams.com/video/BWaq2kKMiAg/video.html
Did the addition of the clover leaf antenna improve reception and range of fpv?
Thanks for your detailed videos
Nishan Hovsepian I still don't have time to fully test yet.
This is the FPV antenna that you extended, correct?
I can't tell if you extended the 2.4G antenna or not
Bien la musique en douceur pour ne rien casser. Merci.
Hello
why did you change the battery connector and the antenna you mount for video or commands.
thank you
Oi Nelson, essa modificação mudou o desempenho o hubsan ? obrigado.
I've tried this and if you stick out the original 5.8 ghz antenna from one of the led foot, you will get better range and much more cleaner video transmision. Trust me i bought the same things nelson did, but standard antenna sticking out is better.. Nice video btw nelson!
Thanks for the advice, will try it later when got free time.
Nelson Lee let me know..
Koray Toklu - I tried it myself, I got GPS and Compass error issues. But - when I switched to a Robber Duck die-pole type antenna it worked fine and it did extend the range significantly.
Hi all, Great video! lots of help for those who want to try new antennas on the h501s. I have this quad lots of fun to fly and it takes good videos and pictures I also did the antenna upgrades on transmitter witch gives me around 450 meters of range, but with that range and shooting video it eats up the battery, my flight time shooting video 8 to 10 minutes, with no video shooting 17 to 20 minutes, the way I look at this is with out a battery upgrade why? the antenna upgrades to transmitter and quad. Have fun flying and enjoy :) Don...
Pardon me if I'm misunderstanding you here. "the way I look at this is with out a battery upgrade why?" ...... The 1st thing he did was solder a connector for a battery upgrade.
josh akers No he didn't upgrade the battery. All he did was add a different style of connector to the battery bay. True this allows him to potentially install a battery that sticks out of the back of the quad. But what if you want to retain the ability to close the battery door?
Thus, The ONLY way you're going to be able to take advantage of that increased range the antenna mod gives you; is if you have a battery hanging out of the back of your beautiful quad.
Note- Dustin Dunnil strapped a 2nd stock battery to the belly of his h501S and only added 10 minutes to his flight time due to increased weight.
Partok81 extra ten minutes could be life or death if out long distances :-)
I still find it hard to see in the video where the Pagoda antenna connects to the camera board, once I open her up is it like obvious to spot this or what? Also if I do this mod what kind of range do I get from the FPV? I recon the FPV on my first "new " H501 was better that the fpv on the model I have now ( It's a few years old, given to me of a gent on ebay) Rob😀
Nice job Nelson. I never could understand why Hubsan places the antennas inside the quad?? All my builds have the antennas outside and I never have range issues..
MrPolymers maybe because of the spaces limited....
Did you just place the 5.8ghz outside and not the 2.4?? If you have a chance, watch my channel. I've lost control of mine several times. First time, it went crazy in Altitude hold mode. Then my last video, it appeared to work fine until I got out to 90 meters or so. I lost control and had to kill the motors. It has me puzzled and I've built a few quads myself..
MrPolymers have you tried update to latest firmware?
I did three upgrades! The current ones are recommended by Hubsan and they have seen my videos. I think they are puzzled too.
What's the farthest you've flown out?? Do you have the advanced or the standard transmitter? It appears those like me that have the advanced transmitter have all the issues.
friend the 2.4 Ghz standard transmitter radio ... did you put .5.8 Ghz works?
Would it be possible to remove the video transmitter completely, and put a new one in?
Was it hard to connect 4.8 antenna ? Access to 4.8 board difficult to get to. Need to replace ipex connecter and run to hole drilled on top 501. Can you do the same with 2.4 antenna Place if outside of quad ???Hang on bottom of quad. / and 4.8 on top of quad...Wanna do that mod. Any suggestions????
это 5.8,смею поправить
Was the performance much improved from this?
So the connection under the top circuit board is the fpv connection? I thought fpv was on top board
Hi Nelson. Your video is perfect. I like especially the fast speed of the boaring manipulations. I already ordered the mushroom antena (not arrived yet), hoping the mod will improve the picture loss, when I rotate the drone!? However, what I am worried about is: 1. You never mentioned if you've achieved any improvement aftter the mod. and 2. Nobody else mentioned any. On the contrary there were complaints about loosing the whole picture.OK - if the 2-nd is may be result of not skilful implementation of the mod, the 1-st can be explained only ... if you are a Banggood agent - getting paid to addvartize this mod kit!? :) Please, tell us what you get out of this mod?
Valentin Tomov Hi, am not banggood agents, I bought this from banggood and I saw some others are doing this mod so I try for my own mod as well, but I have not fully test the transmission image range because one of my local user like my mod and asking me to sell to him. So the last accepted his deal and I sold to the user already.
So I have a question you may be able to answer. When I lifted the camera board up there was no antenna there. On the top board there are two antenna connections, one goes to one of the outboard motor pods and has a 1" or so heat shrink dodad that looks like a dipole termination. The other one is mounted on the body and looks very similar except that it is larger, definitely a dipole antenna termination. Both antenna's originate next to soldered RF shields. I want to know which one is the 5.4 GHz transmitter so I con correctly attach the new antenna to the correct terminal. Is there some way to tell which transmitter is which or should I contact tech support and show them the pictures I took for their assessment? Thanks for the video, I like the modifications, I did notice assembly went easier if I started the screws in the legs first to keep the motor wiring from getting pinched. Regards, GM
Hi, Maybe you can email me the pictures and have a look: nelsonlpf@gmail.com
I need to get them off my camera, documented everything on the off hand chance I was going to have 'issues'. ;)
Sorry, I also did the antenna upgrade on my basic transmitter but, my FPV antenna is not the solid black paddle it's has two plates with a separator .should I just keep that antenna and do this upgrade on my quad? Thanks for your help.

Hey. How are you. I have problems in my drone hubsan h501s pro if you can help me please. The problem is that when the plane takes off, I press the takeoff button. The plane capsizes. I don’t know if the fans or the controller are malfunctioning
The only antenna that works on mine is a dipole. Tried the same antenna in video and clover with same connector config. "Weird huh?"
Nelson Lee - did you experience any issues with GPS or Compass error after installing the roof top antenna for 5.8ghz?
sbs9026 So far I don't have any issues about compass or GPS after mod 5.8G antenna.
Was your range increased enough to justify changing the antenna on the drone itself? Thanks
Does it change some disengagement on the drone with this antenna?
Nice.
What about the control antenna? I see the connector for it. Is it not worth putting a better antenna on it?
there are problems with putting a circular polarized antenna on top of the H501s.
firstly, it is above all the emi shielding tape (the black fabric tape that has copper and nickel woven into it) and electronics so you will only get a picture when the transmitter is above the drone and things get worse as soon as the motors spin up and create their own emf's
Secondly, the aerodynamics are not as efficient. if you look at the drone in profile it has roughly the same cross section as an aircraft wing (it is flatter on the bottom, more curved on top) which generates lift. But the antenna now creates turbulence that impedes the flow of air meaning less lift, plus there is now more drag on the rear too.
The effort is appreciated though
Hi, great video, I also liked the music in the video, please tell me what’s called?
Hello. The H501S starts rotating on the shaft itself as soon as it takes off. what situations this can generate. observation: motors rotating in the right direction, properly mounted helices, made all kinds of calibration. the bussola may be defective???? it may also be a problem of the bussola being magnetized???? it happens ????
What's the name of the song? I swear I've heard it in a soundtrack, just can't remember for what.
Einfach super.
There will be a hole below and above the antenna "mod". All antenna are directional to a degree. Any omni will have a hole below and above. Current position of the antenna in the video will leave a hole in the fpv when the drone is coming head-on to you @ +/_ 45deg.
Hey I would really like to do this mod I even went as far as getting the mushroom antenna. But would you let me know if this mod worked for you?
Not sure why you went with the prop guards. Do you fly it indoors?
Ernie Schatz Prop guards are a good way to protect yourself and your copter from damage for amateurs. Also, in my case I added them while getting familiar with the drone's systems, and any quirks. If it goes down, particularly in grassy areas, they will minimize the junk that might get wrapped around the prop shaft and props. Not to mention if you are a newbie, they might keep you from taking a prop blade in the face. I can attest that on one occasion my quad bounced of a leafy tree limb after I lost orientation. Probably won't be that lucky again if I make that same mistake, but without the guards I would have surely crashed. I recommend them for all beginners, and even non beginners flying a quad that you do not have 100% confidence in. I was nervous because of all the complaints I read about regarding fly always and crashes. I'm happy to report my H501S with standard controller has performed flawlessly.
Hi i want to ask if weight antenna in any way affect the center of gravity of the entire device and thus there is no strain on the engine and overload, I think the weight addition in the rear of the drone is not a perfect solution - I would have looked for the focus exactly in the middle of the device and there would I placed the antenna. What do you think
- otherwise thanks for the video tutorial - Nice work dude :)
Your fan T-o-m-i-k-e from Slovakia
Hi my friend, middle I am not sure can be fit in or not, but if you have this drone then you can try and look into it.
Thats an up wave and away position for that antenna, isn't it?
Hum, be carefull: you will notice that the author of that video never did answer to the basic question: " what range do you get after that mod ?" NO ANSWER .... strange !
For those of you who did that mod and then get no more video: the mushroom antena type is a short circuit in dc current, and this will disturb the switching circuitry in the hardware design. Solution, put a capacitor (100 to 470pf) in series (on the board, or sma side or in the antena: not easy as connections must be very short), or use the classic dipole.
Pat, RF designer.
What antenna would work without adding cap?
@@TheeMissingLinc as I wrote above, a classic dipole or "sleeve antenna" like that one:www.banggood.com/fr/AOMWAY-FPV-5_8G-High-Gain-5DB-Omni-Directional-Antenna-p-910158.html?rmmds=search&cur_warehouse=CN
I measured 2.8db versus a simple dipole on that antenna, in theory it would increase the range by a factor 1.38
Hi I mod both antenas one pagoda and one stick antena 2.4 I put these two antena in the back side but I notice that the signal 2.4 is not as good as I spect, maybe I did something wrong I arrive 750 metros in a urban zone whitout mods and know I feel that its more dificult I think maybe re conect the 2.4 and olly use the pagoda 5.8 externalized... Some advise please what do you thing.... Thanks for sharing... 😎
awesome video nelson, good job ...... please which is the song name? regards and thanks
The song original is from Hubsan. Thanks
Anyone find the name of the song and artist?
Volevo sapere il modello esatto del fungo e a che MHz si deve prendere......e lo spinotto batteria perché è stato modificato??

Can you please do a range test to see if it is worth doing this upgrade? Also can you do a video on how to upgrade the 2.4Ghz control antenna too?
Mod the 5.8G antenna is not that expensive and why need to mod the 2.4G antenna?
For the range test, difference user have different range is see where you flight your quad!
Not the price but the effort to do the mod. I have never done soldering but will give it a try if the range is really improved. Thought with increased FPV range you may need to mod the 2.4Ghz too. A range test at an open field with line of sight should give an idea. Thanks for the reply.
If you research on youtube for H501S antenna mod for other user then you will know after mod the antenna and before mod difference.
I did not see any mods where they modified the quadcopter antenna, only the remote controller. I was wondering if you can get even more range with modified remote and modified quad. Thanks again...
Você melhorou o sinal do FPV ?
It's really not clear where to connect the antenna. This is the first. The
second, and most importantly - it is not clear, in this model both
antennas (this is the receiving control signal from the console, and the
transmitting antenna FPV) that are combined? Complete confusion.
Why you upgrade only the fpv signal?
Hi great job. im also planning to mod the fpv antenna to circular. can i check is this the ipex connector to sma extension?
lester toh You can use sma or RP-sma,just depending your 5.8G antenna
Thanks for the upload bro. Whats the REAL stock flight time, not what the box says?
Is it really 20 mins?
Oh and what about Range? Is the 900 meters legit!?
yes, it's around 20 minutes flight time
Around 1000m range
Nelson Lee when I tried this upgrade to my 501s I can't get any fpv at all unless I put the hubsan patch antenna on the drone! any ideas friend
Glyn Lambert Can you make a video to show me how you make it?
and the test of this antenna where it is?
Looking for camera hookup. My cam cut out and is black screen but everything else works
Hi Nelson, I wanted to ask you something: I updated the Drone and everything is perfect, except that now I do not have a camera and I do not know if anything will be disconnected. What can I test before disassembling it and what do I have to check when I open it ??
Thanks a lot my friend!!!!!
Try after connect your transmitter with drone then go into RC menu and look for the 5.8g channel and tuning the right frequency.
Thanks a lot Nelson, i can view the camera, but sometimes don´t, i think is the firmware, but now i can fly and see, i´m gonna wait for new firmware, now i solve the problem of geomagnetic without troubles, it just a firmware update.!!!!
Aldo Hormazabal which version firmware you updated ?
1.6.25
now the motors don´t start, maybe something wrong on the cables into drone, i´m gonna check
👍
friend would like to know if you have any video showing how to turn the drs hubsan x4 h501c into a 501a, how to change the main board and camera model from 501c to 0 501a.
Sorry friend i don't have this hubsan x4 h501c into a 501a drone.
Cheers...btw im also in malaysia
lester toh If you are live in KL then we can fly together :-)
hi
what type is the antenna ?
Hi Nelson,
After finishing the mod, I can't see any video transmission on my controller (advanced), just black picture.
Do I need to change the frequency after installing the mushroom antenna?
Karen Ashotyan Power off both, then hold the ENTER key on your transmitter and power on with do not release the ENTER button wait until display showing iniasite and BIND then release Button and power on the drone to binding
Tried to bind, no success.
What frequency the transmitter should be on?
Karen Ashotyan must keep the transmitter and drone as close as you can, otherwise will getting failed to binding
The binding was successful, I can fly the quad but no video is shown.
Karen Ashotyan If you using mode 2,hold the Elevator down to the end then press ENTER button, after go into menu press error up/down to select 5.8 frequency then enter, use error up/down to search for the correct signal then press hold PHOTO button, and now done.
What exactly the upgrades he is doing, soory im a noob and lost
increasing the range and protecting the propellers
Also improving the current carrying capacity of the LIPO battery connector. The original equipment one looks suspiciouly under rated. The maximum current draw at full throttle is 24 amps (six amps per motor). The new connector is an XT60, supringly rated for 60 amps continuous if of good quality. An XT30 would be fine in this application but Nelson may have wanted to standardise his battery connectors. Also, much easier to comnect and disconnect. BobUK.
Man, I was not able to see any thing. Video to fast, Not an explanation and your hand were on the middle all the time, but I know you were trying to show something so thanks any way.
with the location of the antenna mod being in such close proximity of the GPS unit, have you had any issues with signal loss or interference?
btw what's the name of the track playing in background and the composer?
I haven't try to flight yet, later I do test and get back to you the result.
Ahaha, thrill... can't wait to hear back from the tests.
+Benjie B already tested, please see my latest first and second test fly
Ok, I watched them. Thanks, can you give a feedback on the improvements with the external FPV antenna + how it compares to before the mod ?
thanks
gran trabajo,, mejoro el alcance fpv??
Hi guys, I bought brand new this drone and video is not working properly, is there something am I doing wrong, is there someone knows about this problem, thank you all
Is your antenna mod for both the video feed and the transmitter/quad signal together?
No, i just mod on the quad only. The transmitter are using stock 5.8G antenna
Okay I probably wasn't asking it correctly. What I am trying to find out is if the antenna mod you did, runs both the quad AND the video feed. Or is there a separate antenna in the quad for each?
Sorry, i can't understand your question.
There are separate antennas as FPV goes on 5.8GHz and control over 2,4GHz. Control antenna connector is on the top pcb. Far easier to access than FPV one.
Hi Nelson Lee
I have a question about replacement motors for H501S
Can i use these motors instead of org Hubsan motors ??
Racerstar Racing Edition BR1806 2280KV from Banggood
PS: Nice Mod video Nelson !!!
Best Regards
Gert Hansen
Gert Hansen Hi, am not sure whether the motors mounting holes will be same point or not.
I think all 1806 motors have the same mounting holes distance
But power wise they will be ok .. right ??
Org motors have 1650KV and racestar have 2280KV.
Does the difference matter for flying/handling ???
Thanks for your time to answer
I worry the stock ESC cannot handling 2280kv....
The ESC are 12A and new motors have load current at 4.6A - 7.0A depending on prop size
´
Hmm maybe best to buy the org motors
Gert Hansen the stock motors actually is enough power for this drone, if for me I will purchase the stocks motors.
Hi, nice antenna mod. Part Numbers? For Antenna? Part Number for Connecting Cable?
Looks pretty complex. You should slow down the video in places , get your hand out of the way, and add either verbal or text to explain what you are doing. I feel like I could have gotten a lot more out of it then I did.
jwden123 lol you felt you could get more out of it then you did lol - so why are you still complaining if you eventually got more out of it?
reef99red are u stupid? I never said I got more out. Of it. I thought I would if it was slower, moron
Quantos de alcance depois dessas modificações
Would you be able to use the receiver to put into another drone to use the transmitter h906a thanks
I don't think it can be done.
@@nldronesolution gutted I love that controller... and now getting into freestyle thanks though
so the 5.8ghz mushroom antenna did that make much of a difference with range?
Charlie. I think you've visited my channel and I'm also curious to why Hubsan places the antennas on the inside?? I'm contemplating tearing down my H501S and rerouting the antennas to the outside with my focus on the 2.4 ghz. No sense trying to achieve FPV range if you have no control of the quad..
They place the antenna that way because it looks better but does not perform better. When I have my quad 5 to 6 hundred meters away then turn the quad towards me then I loose 5.8ghz and it has always been that way. I mean look at the transmitter on the non advance it has no visible antenna from it. It so called looks better. Most of hubsan stock have everything tucked away. As for the fly away there is a serious issue there. It would be interesting to see your quad go with the standard controller and see what happens. Good luck
Charlie, I'm almost willing to do that. Replace my advance with the standard. I'm also noticing it's those of us with the advanced that have all the problems. I used to think folks that had these issues were beginners, but not with this quad..
MrPolymers yeah I know it's kind of silly. you would think advanced would be for advanced users. you could try to get the 2.4 and the 5.8 outside of the quad but I would assume that a fly away would have something to do with the GPS. looking at different vids on CZcams it could be any number of reasons. :-(. if it was me and I knew someone with the other controller I would try that just in case
Hi Nelson, everytime i turn/rotate my quad the FPV image start to blink, unstable + noise black and white,
if the quad facing me within 30-70 metres i almost can't see the image. Any idea?
Should i open my h501s shell to check the antenna 5.8g?
I think need to check on the 5.8g antenna first.
Nelson i check the 5.8g antenna placed on the back of motor B (inside the LED)...
Yes, you're right...have you try changing the channel on your transmitter?
Many times but no luck...should i place the antenna on the center of the quad?
Before you moving the 5.8G antenna check on your transmitter channel first, try to change the difference channel on your transmitter until you get clear picture.
the video is fine, beautiful, but at least you could have talked and let you know what you are doing. for the next time put the camera in favor of the object
Can you give me a link to the song please or the name and composer please
Is it posible for a second vertical Camera to be installed? If yes how would it be projected on the controler?
additional camera would have to be independent, have it's own tx & rcv channel
@@thecentralscrutinizer5105 True! Tnx mate. I would love to see how would it be done!
@@fransciscoeldrako8870 you can get independant cameras off eBay, it'll have its own transmitter built with it,
I don't know what you were trying to show in this video
Привет вчера установил грибок но при установке теряется сигнал видео на пульте может кто-нибудь сталкивался с такой проблемой подскажите как решить
I have Hubsan 501S and I can't get a video feed from the quad to the remote's monitor. Also I can't get it to take pictures or video. It' seems like the camera is not getting any power. Any ideas what might be wrong?
Hooverdarnit Try to re-binding both .
1.power off both
2.hold the enter key and power on the transmitter and will display Bind Plane.
3.power on the aircraft as close as the transmitter.
I did that. I also went through all the 24 different frequencies for the video. I tried EVERYTHING more than twice. I have solved the problem though. I just bought a NEW one.
new drone or new replacement camera?
Nelson Lee скажи мне на какой прошивке работает оно? пульт какой?
Hi, Different user using different version of the firmware.
So you may try it till you feel the one is suitable for your drone.
thx nelson. is the connection to the board ipex?
lester toh Yes,buy new ipex cable sma/rp-sma direct plug into the board to replace the current 5.8G cable.
Bom dia jovem engenheiro - eu tenho um drone igual a esse, quando ligo ele, ele fica apitando a luz vermelha e nao para - poderia me ajudar - obg - até.
