  • Today's video starts at Ellenbrae Station, where we enjoy an amazing bath and some warm scones that were divine!
Leaving Ellenbrae, we are heading to Home Valley Station... we said that the road from Manning Gorge to Ellenbrae was so bad on the previous episode... but this was insane!

Started following you around a few weeks ago. Appreciate the hard work editing to put out the vids everyday. Your fridge has cracked the sealed refrigerant pipes, most likely from the corrugations. The ammonia is the coolant the manufacturer uses in the 3 way fridge. My understanding its a sealed non serviceable item. The brake wires are the same colour at the wheels because it doesn't matter which way you wire them as they are magnets and will work either way. Its nice to have a great bunch of people to travel with. Yes the road is hard but the memories are priceless.

We drove out to Ellenbrae Monday, the road is definitely better now than it was last year believe it or not.

Did the Gibb last August and did 2 tyres, all of my front suspension, lights loose, bash plates coming off etc, etc.. Total cost was about $5K!

Thank you for the tips on the conveyor belt, for protecting pipes . In two weeks time or less you'll sit back with a beer thinking what a epic trip. Excellent videoing editing, keep up the good work job well done.

Sorry to hear about the fridge, we've become so dependent on them. I wonder if they fair better in the "full offroad" vans or if corrugations are just corrugations no matter what. Did you know that you can cook damper/scones on a plain old hot plate or in a frying pan? Just make up your favourite damper/scone recipe roll the whole thing into a ball and flatten to about 1&1/2 inches and cook it on medium heat on both sides (until golden brown on both sides). Slice it like a cake and eat it straight off the hot plate, amazing when you haven't had anything like it for a long time on the road.

Holy hell! Those are some rough roads but the scenery and the adventure would absolutely make up for it! I have a Franklin with the Dometic fridge like yours so I’m keen to know what failed to see if I can do anything to stop that happening.

Thanks for the real honest raw report of the Gibb. Answered one question we had and the answer is we can do without that road.
