    If you’re having peeing problems with little one when you change his nappy, open the nappy, blow lightly on his private part and cover him lightly with the nappy. Usually that little breeze makes them go to the loo again (usually whilst you’re trying to clean them lol) and this avoids little pee fountains hitting you. Worked for me.

    I have never found anyone on CZcams that made a video about putting baby in crib from the get go. We did the same thing had baby in room for a few nights, I slept horrible, couldn’t relax, ended up feeling less safe about being alert for baby because I was so tired. Moved him into the crib with a monitor and I could still check on him honestly more easily because of the monitor. Never regretted it. And I still have my own space to take a shower and wind down for the night without having to worry about waking baby up.

    I had a NICU nurse suggest having baby sleep in the nursery, you being in your room. From her experience it helped everyone sleep better.

    For those who are short on money or hate added clutter, you don't need seperate baby scales. Weigh yourself, hold your baby, weigh again and minus your weight. Job done.

  • @ellaanvari7737
    @ellaanvari7737 Před 4 lety +1

    You’ll like the carrier later on because the stretchy wraps don’t last a super long time :). Also the haaka isn’t really meant to be a “pump”. It works best when you have it on one side while breastfeeding on the other side. It catches the let down and all the leaking milk from the opposite side. It’s hard to get milk into the haaka when you aren’t breastfeeding on the other side because the let down won’t be as strong from pumping. So for people exclusively pumping I don’t find the haaka is very helpful but for those breastfeeding and only needing the occasional bottle of milk, the haaka is more than enough. :)

      @@CarlyNeave Those types of carriers are better when they can support their head. the soft carrier you are using now is better for the newborn stage but they get too heavy for it after a bit..

    A workaround for baby scales is if you already have a scale for adults. Just weigh yourself first. Then weigh yourself holding your baby/pet

    If they are leaking their diapers change the diaper brand or the size. Makes a big difference. Mom of 2 boys and 1 girl and soon to be 3 boys and 1 girl. I have heard a lot of people say the snoo is a waste of money. Highly recommend the ergo baby for a carrier for when he is larger

    • @capturedbyannamarie
      @capturedbyannamarie Před 4 lety +1

      M C it is trial and error depending on the boy really. I would try pampers pure, huggies, and luvs. One of those worked for mine. One of them did super well with pampers and luvs, and the other did super well with huggies. I am trying pampers pure with this little boy I am pregnant with.

    • @karihendrix6491
      @karihendrix6491 Před 4 lety +3

      Instead of buying a specific thing for that, just use a washcloth. They work just as well and will already have them around. If that doesn't work, most babies will pee immediately after removing the diaper, as a response to the air. So remove the front of the diaper, then, put it back for about 30 seconds or so, and you should be good.

    Hey Carly, thank you for your reviews, very helpful!
    Regarding the haakaa, I was researching it the other day and most people say it’s supposed to be a milk catcher and not exactly pump any milk out 🤔 Apparently it’s useful for when you are breastfeeding, for the other breast, if it leaks.

    • @CarlyNeave
      @CarlyNeave  Před 4 lety

      Jo Kaier oooohh see I knew it was handy for that but I didn’t know that was the actual purpose of it, hence thought it I didn’t “work” for me! Even then though, I have tried that too and Alfie’s legs tend to kick it away 😂 Just struggle with it!😊

Having said that he’s currently doing his 3pm nap on me as wasn’t having any of being put down in the swaddle 😂 maybe give it a few weeks and try again and use a “normal” swaddle in the mean time? Great video! Thank you 😊 I’m not sure if maybe I misunderstood because of the wording, I’m from the US. But the Haaka from what I’ve heard is meant to catch the milk that “leaks” from the opposite breast while breastfeeding, so it won’t be wasted on your shirt.

    • @CarlyNeave
      @CarlyNeave  Před 4 lety

      Hey Vikki. We actually don't use it so much at the moment so I would probably revisit this as a top choice for after that newborn stage (not sure when baby counts for out of newborn!). It was really comforting for a few weeks (and reliable we found) but in the end, our bedroom is literally opposite and found that we heard everything anyway so was no need for the tech as we got used to it. I guess we used it as a comfort blanket more than anything to start with x
