  • November 2016 I did almost 25 miles on my kayak down the Yadkin River into High Rock Lake spending a night on the river. I slept in a hammock and did the trip on my Pelican Trailblazer 100 Kayak with some modifications to it.
Check out the video of my modifications to my Kayak.

Maybe the Boone's cave ranger meant 9 MILES instead of 9 hours.

I felt like that is what he meant. He just got tongue tied for a minute.

I have been using Microsoft Movie Maker to start and been researching what I want to move into, but I have not found one I really like. Plus I have been checking out getting a Macbook Vs Windows.

Great video. I Have the same kayak. I Like the the modifications, especially the rear storage. Did you make the rear a little more water tight? (I believe you talked about it in another video, something about the seat). No shame in calling your wife to get you. Had to call my wife after dislocating my shoulder 9 miles into a bike ride on our local trails (great time carrying my bike a mile on my good shoulder to the nearest road, 9 miles from my truck). Thanks for sharing your trip.

The modifications worked great. I had a guy going to help with making the back water tight but he was not able to pull it off. Still doing a little research on it. Yes it was close to calling the wife the water was pretty rough. Gearing up for the next one now stay tuned for that video. Give me a thumbs up if you liked the video. Thanks Lost Scout

How Did you google earth your trip ? I want to do the Abbots creek one I live right near hwy 64 id you put in right at the bridge on 64 next to the BBQ place?

On the Google Earth for either mobile or PC you can map a trip or basically measure a distance. I use that to measure how many miles from start to finish and then add waypoints at items of interest such as places to camp. The bridge at the BBQ place near Finch Park to Sheets Bottom on Hwy 47 is about 5 miles I think. I would have to double check. The only issue with Abbotts Creek is down trees you have to avoid. I also did the 64 to Hwy 47 section of Abbotts Creek.
