    I live in Newtown and I ❤ it! I moved into the Foundation Square building in 2022. Newtown has an abundance of positives: the shopping, the restaurants, the movies…all walkable. The wonderful Sullivan Square park and the Newtown community pool in the summertime. It is a safe, beautiful community and I feel so grateful I am able to reside here.

    Thank you for the informative videos! Do you have any recommendations for areas to live within commuting distance to Sentara Williamsburg hospital?

      Hi Lauren! Sentara is really easy to get to from just about anywhere in Williamsburg. So it'll really depend on what you're looking for! Give me a call or send me an email some time and I can make a few recommendations 🙂 757.912.4440 or tortolinihomes@gmail.com

    Just moved here, it's surprisingly ghetto in places. New town is nice but there are some really run down areas of Williamsburg

      You sure you're in Williamsburg...Virginia? I've never heard someone describe Williamsburg as surprisingly ghetto. I think the general consensus is that it's quite the opposite. I hope you find some parts you love!

      @@movingtohamptonroads It's technically Williamsburg but its in York county I heard it called the grove area I don't know where it starts and ends. Just kinda weird area grown men walking around in the middle of the night and middle of afternoon, houses in need of serious care that might not strike people as strange, but to me it looks like trouble. Even Penniman road looks pretty trashy. But the heart of Williamsburg is beautiful New Town is great, Monticello area seems very nice too.

      @@dougdelane3642 Ok, yes, I agree. That specific area isn't great. Nowhere near as bad as the rough parts of Newport News or Hampton, but it sticks out in Wbg. We just need to get you out exploring the rest of town! If you're on Penniman turn on Hubbard, at Magruder Elementary, and head down there and check out Queens Lake and Creekside Landing. Beautiful Neighborhoods. And then take drive down towards Jamestown Settlement to see the neighborhoods down Rt 31 and Rt 5. I think you'll see more normal Williamsburg neighborhoods.

      @@dougdelane3642You definitely need to look up the definition of ghetto because you are clueless to describe parts of Williamsburg as such, smfh

      @@deecee6806 You got grown ass men walking around all hours of the night and day. There are poorer areas to Williamsburg, there are run down houses, there is crime. You can church it up all you want.

    Wow, I'm looking to move to Williamsburg next year, New Town looks awesome. I would definitely be tempted, but unfortunately they've built all the townhouses without any back yards. I wish this trend would stop, it's no good for people with dogs.

    • @movingtohamptonroads
      @movingtohamptonroads  Před rokem +1

      I have two dogs myself, and totally understand! We were in a big city with our first dog, and no yard, years ago. It's a lot easier these days, for sure. There are options outside of New Town that could be a great fit, or even one of the small single family homes in Charlotte Park with a yard. Reach out any time and we can see what neighborhoods have what you're looking for! 757-912-4440 or tortolinihomes@gmail.com

      Thanks for writing about the backyard for dogs. Definitely a negative for a dog lover. But the place, other than that, seems ideal.

    Where do people work there? Commuting to somewhere else?

    • @movingtohamptonroads
      @movingtohamptonroads  Před 6 měsíci

      Great question! In Williamsburg many people work for the Healthcare system, Williams & Mary, Busch Gardens, and especially the service and hospitality industry. There are also many small businesses along with a strong manufacturing and distribution sector. But many people also work for the large employers/military bases in the neighboring cities like Fort Eusis, Langley AFB, Ferguson Enterprises, and the Newport News Shipyard. Williamsburg is also less than an hour to Richmond, so some do head that way as well.
