Luboš Fišer (1935-1999) was a Czech Composer. He studied composition at the conservatory under the direction of composer Emil Hlobil (1952-1956), where he composed his first compositions under the influence of his teacher in the neoclassical spirit of the interwar musical avant-garde (eg 1st piano sonata from 1955 or 1st symphony with which he graduated from the conservatory in in 1956). Under Emil Hlobil, he completed his education at the Faculty of Music at the Academy of Performing Arts (1956-1960), where he graduated with his 2nd Symphony. Zuzana Růžičková, who also taught him, also played an important role in his compositional life.
Already a year after completing his studies, he successfully performed in public with his one-act opera Lancelot.
Luboš Fišer was a perfectly educated composer and felt a huge respect for old music masters. However, he also had a close relationship with newer music and especially with the work of Alexander Scriabin. Within his musical generation, the position of Luboš Fišer is perceived by some musicologists (eg Jaroslav Smolka) as the most centered among innovators, but the closest In the 1990s, together with the spiritually related authors Sylvia Bodorová, Otmar Mácha and Zdeněk Lukáš, with whom he founded the composer group Quattro.
Together with Zdeněk Liška, he was one of the most prolific authors of Czech film music and composed his impressive compositions for more than three hundred titles.

Hints of Prokofiev, Shostakovich, Bartók, Kodály, and even Elfman, but overall a very unique composer. Amazing, colorful, and filled with energy; I can't wait to listen to more from him!

It feels so extra to have 4/4 time and then within 4 bars have a 5/4 measure and a 3/4 measure
    Amazing 10/10

Luboš Fišer's music has an amazing effect: is so rich in contrasts and images, so fascinating and exciting, so intriguing and dense that it seems to sound much longer than it really is

A very exciting alternative to Prokoffiev, Shostacovitch and Bartok - with his own harmonic style ! Thank you for posting !

Amazing piece! Reminds me a bit of Prokofiev's style. Surprising this composer isn't well known!

I agree, hints of Prokofiev, definitely, and a dash of Scriabin I’d say ^_^

@@aaditshrivastavamusic Oh absolutely, I’ve tried to add a hint of Scriabin to my own writing and it never works without directly quoting. I adore scriabin though, there’s such a other-worldliness to it. Fišer’s piece here is very entertaining though!
