Today we check out Rickys CTR. He has been building it for a few years and near the top of his goals for it. Running more horsepower than any ever typeR I have been. Yes a few in the 500s but its not about being the first or fastest in the fk8 scene we all homies and fun to see others winning. Fk8 is a machine at stock power, at 400 it is a monster, but at these levels of 500 its just such an overkill that is so addicting. Thank you Ricky for allowing us learn more about your heavy killer machine!

Hey bro, How much NVH did that rear motor mount add? Did you feel it? I have the Hasport 62A sitting in my house. I took it out of my Si because it was so harsh. The AC compressor seemed like it was rattling off the firewall. But I'm tempted to throw it in my Type R. I'm nowhere near you, I hit 390HP on the Dyno so no question the motor mount will tighten up the feel but I can't handle an unbearable harsh drive at all times. Thanks bro. And that's the nicest R I've ever seen.. I'm super jealous
Hey wasup man, this is the friends Rickys car. He can probably answer better but during cold start entire car rattles a lot more than oem comfort. You can feel it big time but this is race car I don’t think comfort is important. Imo if drag racing from a dig is important, or getting alot of track seat time it is worth it but you do lose alot of oem comfort and add vibration,similarly to when you had it on the Si

How's this car holding up? I'm about to do the same set up, with an xdi hpfp/1400 cc 320lpfp. PRL bolt ons, very similar set up minus a few suspension bits. Also waiting on some swedit interior bits. I have owned a few hot hatches but I honestly enjoy this car, more than most everything I've owned, including an rs3 which is also in my garage.

Yeah a couple in the 600 hps and many worldwide with fastest 1/4, fastest laps in places, and others fast in general. This is only one I know 500+ personally

First off.. fucking love the video because I’m in love with the civic type r, but just a quick question.. is it possible to maybe modify let’s say like 2nd, 3rd and maybe 4th gear so instead of the stock gearing, you put some straight cut gears in those places?
I may not know shit about what I’m talking about but anyway, instead of having a sequential trans, is it possible to alter or even throw in those straight cut gears and have the trans be similar to sequential?

I understand you, yes it is possible a few Si have there tranny set up like that. Some may say he sucks at changing gears but at that power and how our trannys are sensitive not rare to grind gears from a dig.

I have an R as well and I'm running Amsoil Signature series and may try Torco SR-5R next but always interested to hear what other owners are using. Amazing build by the way. I thought I was getting somehere with mine then you came on CZcams and stomped out my hopes and dreams
@@thinkforyourself5672 I do run EOS I get it through Ballade in Garden grove CA not sure where you live but hit them up and ask for Rickys same oil we did a little different due to the power and heat but either way Torco is great too but ive always used Motul before this

Btw this is stock internals. I recently heard of JSR and how they make internal parts. For sure more capable but like most cars becomes ticking bomb lol

Kind of sketch that the tuner raised the limiter to 7600 rpm given that the stock valves start to float after 7200🤔
I made 566whp@7600 on stock valvetrain - pushing 8000 soon with ferrea valavtrain as I go from 30 to 34psi and aiming for 600whp on stock internals/stock head/cams

Yeah I mean it’s totally achievable but to get a 1000hp RSX it basically has to run slicks and to drive that in a regular basis is tough my car at this power and my friend who makes like 615whp we can both regularly drive these cars no sweat so once you build up a car like this for all that power you wouldn’t be able to really daily it this is my daily

Obviously 1000hp in any car would be rough for a daily in any car. Just saying these cars should be able to easily if K Series cars before it have. The formula is already there.

@@maganamfg I’m not against wrap in general, just that camo is hard to get with. Doesn’t matter if it’s an import or domestic. From what I’ve seen, definitely more import guys doing these loud camo wraps. I used to be heavily into imports, and actually still like a lot of them, was just always more into the understated, JDM look of late 90’s early 2000’s.

At a dig we will be pretty similar until he gets into 3rd gear which is above 60mph, so I doubt drastically faster bc he lacks grip. I’ll ask him though for us to do it
