Don’t go into creative studies, biggest mistake of my life. Don’t turn an interest or hobby into a chore, get a certificate that will land you a decent job, wish I did that instead.
Yeah but it isn't as interesting
@@solarwinds5114 I had that mentality once too, than I lost that exact interest, as well as time and money. We need to stop raising people to be compulsive decision makers and actually have a PLAN.
@O While I am no socialist this is my biggest issue with capitalism you can do something you enjoy just because we live to work. Whats the point of living if we are just trying to accumulate as much wealth as possible to then retire at 70 and have 20 years left to do what we should have been doing when we were young and had so much life to live.
@@platonymous What then happens if you turn your hobby into a major and you finish with this huge loan and can’t land a decent job to pay your bills? Especially in a country with no welfare program? Capitalism isn’t the issue. Having courses in schools that no or very very few employers are willing to pay for, is the problem
look for a job that is technical and creative something like industrial and product design. You can still earn well and pursue what you want
I regret engineering. Too difficult for me and took all time from me.
I'm in engineering and I'm changing it because of the same reason
I agree I started off in engineering did well first and second semester and switched lol too much math
@@Raptor777_ Great choice, you will not regret it. I am older than you. been working for a few years. The degree is just too difficult and not particularly rewarding. I think the market is saturated, the salaries for engineers are being pressed down. Etc. I can write a long thesis on this. But I regret y degree. I should have started working sonner insteadd
@@jakoblindelof92 an engineering degree is a great degree but it does require a lot of math and lots of hands on and work I remember not having much time after classes because I had a lot of homework for engineering classes I liked it and still do but the field is one of the hardest fields
I was at a similar situation. Finished 2 years of engineering and got an associates degree, but was so Burnt out and if it wasn’t covid sending all classes online I would failed most of my classes in my last year. I was gonna go back and get my bachelors eventually but never went back I’m now 25 with 7K debt and a associate but idk if or when I’m gonna go back to finish my bachelor in engineering or any subject. Lol.
It's too early to ask them now. You should ask people 5-10 years after they graduate.
This is so relatable! I'm happy and grateful you shared this video. My major is Financial Markets, but I'm really interested in Mass Media and Communication. The way she said, "We'll see what happens"🤣🤣🤣 same reaction here.
I studied civil engineering. Biggest mistake of my life.
Why so? Can you explain?
@@ralphc099 civil engineering is seen as an architecture shadow. At least here in the UK.
Hopefully it’s different in the United States! I just started my freshman year at RPI as a Civil lol
@@ngonimandizha7738 don’t come to the UK. Civil engineers are treated like shit in this country.
@@Peoplehater789lol, man civil engineers treated like shit every country, they are not people they are just expenses associated with the project. Nothing more
A non economic value career
NGlL i would love to see creative arguments in courts
Dude that squirrel got so close to them! Wowie!
Campus animals are chill
I relate
Even though you have interest dont just pick it but look if it also yive a decent job or you can get selected easily. Take both things at once ❤
I’m doing graphic design 🤭
A lot of majors from arts to science are 'creative'.
Bro seriously everybody be doing something different from their interests because thats where we all land. 0.1 percent get to persue their interest and a decent job. Vut at the end peiple chase money and money chases them 😮
same.
The entertainment industry are you kidding me what is wrong with these college kids?
Working in entertainment doesn't necessarily mean being an entertainer
some people have dreams?
Political science are you kidding me
Yeah, cause she thought she wanted to go to law school...
Thee genZers have no clue what’s waiting for them
Ok boomer...
