25 Minute video 😍 - Chapters in the Description for your convenience! Will you be using Night Mode?
Beautiful video...how did you get approval to fly in NYC?
Did you get approval to fly in NYC or did you get "approval" to fly in NYC? lol
Excellent footage! Watched it in its entirety, Eddie. You demonstrated very well how the Night Mode improves the footage clarity, and when not to use it. Also, super hand-catching demo from your friend at the end. I decided to get the Mavic 3 Classic and did a couple of flights before the winter snow covers the ground and the river gets frozen. I'm subbing. Greetings from Montreal, Canada.
Thank you! I appreciate the comments and support. Canada must be so beautiful with the snow. NYC should see those conditions soon. Enjoy and congratulations on the Mavic 3 Classic!
Nice. New York always looks so cool on these night drone shots. Impressive sunset also. I need to try Night Mode near a city here. Was pretty impressed with it on fireworks last month but it didn’t really have a lot it could mess up. Was pitch black surrounding the fireworks though and it did a great job of removing noise from that.
Awesome that you already tried it. Thanks for the support. I appreciate it.
I appreciate the longer form content to get more info & context like this. Great job giving us a feel for the 3 modes & the results. 💪🏽👍🏽
Both videos looks great, neat and night mode. But with night mode you don’t have to do any editing lol. Night mode to me is amazing!!!
100% LOL. Zero effort and it looks great!
Valuable info Eddie. Great observations and thanks so much for your analysis and sharing it. Learned a lot here. Peace.
I appreciate the support and your time. Thank you
Great comparison on night mode.
Thanks for Sharing!
we’re appreciated your time ,hard work and effort for this tutorial which absolutely useful.🙏🏻💯
It's my pleasure
Great work here Eddie. I learned a lot. Thank you for showing us this test.
Thanks for watching Marcus
Great job, Eddie. Loved the shots you filmed!
Thank you Al! Love the new CZcams name
Thank you for posting this extensive video as a pilot since 2016. I still learned a lot from your footage
My Pleasure!
This was a really incredible review of the use of the night mode as well as your plug in. Very well done Eddie. Thanks for the info
Thanks bro! I provided a lot of examples.
@@MrEddieNunez Definitely above and beyond
Very thorough! Thanks, Eddie!
Thanks for the support Chris
Fantastic Information. Thank You And Happy Flying!
Thanks Paul! Appreciate you watching.
@@MrEddieNunez Have a Fantastic Weekend!
I don't own the Mavic 3 but always enjoy your content. This demo of the different settings was a professional job. I don't think you missed a thing. I wonder if people realize how much time it takes to put something like this together. All the planning, drone captures, editing, Thanks Eddie. I appreciate what you do!!!
Thanks! This was definitely a time consuming project, but worth it. I appreciate you!
Thank you for the great video! In my short time with my new Mav 3 Pro, I am having really good success using Night Mode, then bringing the edges back by adding a bit of sharpness and additional post tools.
Thanks for sharing
This is so cool! When I visited New York I didn’t bring my drone because I didn’t have the stones to fly it around with all the restrictions. Cool videos! Keep up the great work! #stayepic
I really appreciate your support Marco! Next time bring your drone and we can fly together 🎉
@@MrEddieNunez that would be awesome! Thanks! I will let you know if I swing by New York next time. #stayepic
Great stuff Eddie! I just received my Mavic 3 Classic. Going to try Night Mode for sure. Happy New Year my friend!
Oh man! cant wait to see your video with the classic.
I made it. Hats off to you Eddie for doing such an in depth review and comparison. Awesome 👌
I appreciate you Scott! Thank you!
Great video Eddie! A bit long but answered a lot of questions that Mavic 3 owners would have about this night mode🙌
John, I appreciate it! Yes, very long but I felt like the examples were needed.
Great shots Eddie! Yeah this night mode is a game changer for sure.
Thanks Bob
Beautiful shots bro! NYC is the bomb 😍
Thank you Mike!! Appreciate you checking out the video. You need to come this way one day.
Great video! Just got my Mavic 3 Classic and this will come in handy. New Sub from NJ
Thanks! Mavic 3 is a beast of a drone. Enjoy. Which part of NJ?
@@MrEddieNunez Thanks, I’ve had Several DJI and most recently had M2P. I’m in Monmouth County NJ
Top notch video Eddie.
Neat Video is amazing. Night mode is amazing. The Mavic 3 cine just looks good period. I stayed for the final portion. Full watch bro.
Thank you for the full watch Bob. I noticed that as well, although the iso grain was noticeable, it wasn’t too bad. Neat video has been the best plug-in ever purchased.
Nice review, Eddie!
Thanks Rotor Rabbit!
Eddie Nunez: Thank you for the informative video great work as always!
Yo Eddie awesome video you and Billy killed it I'm just in the making but definitely good to see collaboration 👍 😀 👌 🙌
Thank you! I appreciate the comment.
As Always an exceptionally produced and thought out work.
But I'm most pleased that you mentioned "Neat Video" as a useful but optional tool. I've been talking about Neat for quite some time but until this,,, haven't seen its usefulness incorporated in an optional/ pro-con kinda way...
Also:
The amount of information you offer makes the length of your video[s] always worth the watch. Great job Bro 😎👍
James!!!! Bro - So glad you watched the video. I bought NEAT video years ago when I had smaller sensor cameras and that plugin to me is well worth the money. Its so powerful and can clean up any noise so well. I appreciate the full watch and your feedback as always. Happy Holidays! Lets link up when you are back this way.
Beautiful video!! Congratulations
Thanks Gio!
Great video, and nice bike too
Thanks Mike
1st time at your site and I am impressed. Your presentation is very professional. Keep up the great work
Thank you Bill Grace
Absolutely spectacular video Eddie. Amazing footage bro. 😂😂by the ass 🤘🏻👏🏻
haha - that is the way to do it.
Great Video and good information Eddie. I have yet to try out night mode but I will take your advance and check out the plug-in!
You are going to love it
Great video. I subscribed and liked!
@andrewJeffersonCotterTV Thank you so much!! Truly appreciate that!
Good review Eddie 👍
Thank you Frank!
The production of your videos are so great. Honestly, very professional 🏆.
I figured that applying your own noise reduction in post would provide the best results after dialing in your own settings. It’s one of those jack of all trades situation. DJI manufactures great drones that contain amazing technology but a company that solely focuses on noise reduction, will always triumph.
Thank you for the breakdown of each option. The information provided was solid.
Congrats on Anthony getting the Mavic 3 Beta….lol
You guys are hilarious. 😂
Great seeing you two together 🤩.
I let my drone land on the ground once 🤓.
Completely forgot Anthony was nearby 🤦🏻♂️. I felt that look 👀 from across the parking lot. That look of disappointment 😠
😂🤣😂
Thanks bro! Yes, onboard tech will never be as good as what you can do in post. Similar to hypersmooth and Gyroflow or reelsteady. Hyper smooth is good, but you can get much better results in post with one of those applications I mentioned.
And yeah, Anthony will grill you if you don’t hand catch lol.
Wow that looks so good. Like # 20!!!
Thank you 🙏
Amazing
Thanks
Great review Eddie, the video of the city at night is amazing. I’m going to go out and try it tonight at a street that is lit up for Christmas. Just can’t fly over the folks. Keep up the great reviews.
Awesome! Link me to your video if you do upload that Christmas footage. Thanks for watching!

Another great video ! yes it was long but watched the whole thing learned so much with NIGHT MODE & SENSORS ... something to keep in mine ! keep them coming !
Awesome, thank you!
Cheers, solid video. sup from Bangkok Thailand.
Thank you! Thailand is beautiful.
I made it. Thanks for review. I have the M3 and do a lot of sunsets.
For sunset you can’t go wrong with either mode. But also, I prefer sunsets over mushy night video too. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.
I made it to the end haha i just got the mavic 3 classic and I definitely going to that spot in Brooklyn to test it out!
Thank you for the full watch! Truly appreciate that! You are going to love that Mavic 3. It is a beast. Dumbo is so epic to fly.
@@MrEddieNunez definitely! I work for the landscape construction company that does all those parks its cool to get nice shots of stuff iv built
Hi Eddie. I just finish watching my 2nd time viewing of this great information packed tutorial on Night Flights. My Mav 3-Clasic is to be shipped mid March but I ordered Last Monday. My Mini-3 Pro arrives tomorrow 2/28 ordered the same day. Hey the Air-2S has cruse control. Myself I think I'll be flying nights in manual settings as that's all I ever have. But of course I'm going to try all of the settings the Classic has to learn the drone. Learned to go to S mode with all of my drones to hand catch. Y ou have an awesome home setup Sir. I'm just not into editing like all that.
Congrats on your new drones!
I saving up my $$ to get the 3 Classic. Night mode looks awesome. Thanks for sharing.
It is the best drone money can buy now and I would also say future-proof!
@@MrEddieNunez Cool! I ordered. Arrives Wednesday! woohoo! Early Christmas
Incredibly beautiful colors of the city lights! I wish Atlanta is like NYC next to the sea and/or a huge river. So crispy and beautiful!! I love the reflections of water between that city which is amazing.
Thank you! I hear Atlanta has some incredible FPV spots. So its a balance 😀
@@MrEddieNunez Yeah, that's true. Lol
Were these NR-in-post tests done with h265 or ProRes please? (I'm expecting the ProRes to handle high noise better due to the much higher bitrate)
ProRes
Hi, thank you for a wonderful video. Can we just check whether zoom function is still available during night mode? Thank you sir.
Zoom does not work when using night mode.
Eddie, great review of night mode, especially with the plugin. Thanks for the full review; I did watch in its entirety. Hopefully, we can meet at the SFDM, in 4 months.
Thanks for the full watch bro. Yes, neat video is so powerful. Hopefully I can make it. Depends on work schedule.
SFDM?
@@WW5RM South Florida Drone Meetup, April 2 weekend, 3rd annual, at Jensen Beach FL, expect over 100 pilots from all over the country
@@txarchdroneguy4731 that's a long drive from East Texas! =]
@@WW5RM where about in East Texas, i in Bedfroed, tx, near just west of DFW Airport, flew southwest the first year, drove last year picking up a pilot in Hammond LA, and followered another from Tallahassee the following day. I know some pilots driving from San Antonio, others either driving or flying from Austin area. Its a great community.
I dont have a mavic 3 yet. This is a excellent comparison though. Thanks for this video.
Hey Nunez. I am enjoying your work alot man. Kinda new to your channel. thanks for sharing. I have a question, I will be migrating to the u.s soon and will like to fly in NYC one day. Do I need a part 107 to be able to fly there?
Thanks Trini. You can fly as a hobbyists safely here.
I’m very impressed with night mode. I think adding a bit of sharpness in post would be all that’s needed.
I agree. It’s very impressive as a in camera noise reduction feature.
This is a great job of explains what’s up with night mode. Great footage too. So are you in a tiny area that allows you to fly and capture this footage of NYC? Can’t wait to fly here one day.
Very informative. I wonder why when there is plenty of light the sensors automatically default to off.
I think that is because in night the sensors are typically off. So if you are in night mode, the drone might turn them off automatically. Also perhaps its to alleviate processing power? Remember the drone is doing noise reduction processing as its flying and recording to your card. Thanks for commenting and watching the video. Happy Holidays!
oh and I made it to the end of video, very well done. I assume that plug you reference also works on FCP? That's what I use. Thanks!
Thanks for the support. Yes! It works on all the editing applications.
@@MrEddieNunez excellent, will look into. Thx
Great video.. I was just in NYC but too afraid to fly as a foreign national... I did throw it up in Jersey tho. Greetings from Toronto.
Oh wow! Hope you captured great content.
Thanks Eddie (From another Ed/Eddie) this was an excellent video (I just wish I'd watched it before shooting in Night Mode yesterday! I switched half way through the shoot because the I didn't think we'd get what we needed with 1600)
Glad it was helpful. Thanks for viewing the video.
Dope video as always 🔥I made it 🤟
Thanks for the full watch!!!! I appreciate that so much! Happy holidays!
Love the normal. Grain isn’t too bad. Easy clean up in DaVinci
Great comparisons. I do think it should be mentioned, about the massive time saving element night mode presents. The problem with Neat is it takes FOREVER to process. Those were some long clips and it could add hours to your editing process.
Great point. Although I do need to mentioned that Neat video is much faster with Apples new silicon chips.
Awesome video, I updated my Mavic 3 and the DJI app, where is the settings to turn night mode on and off.
DJI needs to have an aperture the size of the mini 3 pro of 1.7.
Thanks! It’s under the video settings, you’ll see a night mode feature now.
@Eddie Nunez Thanks, again nice presentation. I'm betting that the next Mavic 3 will have an aperture of 1.7 which will have better low light capabilities. 😉
@@technodronesogxl9783 1.7 would be so nice! But maybe they are saving that and 1.2 for the Inspire 3.
Mrs, Recomendarias comprar el MAVIC 3 Clasic. He perdido mi autel evo 2 pro. Tu opinion seria bienvenida.
GRACIAS
Si, Mavic 3 Classic es muy bueno.
@@MrEddieNunez El lunes lo compro. Gracias #SúperEddy
I skipped to the conclusion! It's good to hear that found noise reduction yourself is a better option. It's what I intuitively decided.
nice NYC shots! Is it cool to fly there especially at night? No issues with NYPD or something? Cheers from Chicago
No issues as of now, however new NYC ordinance law might change this soon.
Great video Eddie. I noticed at 17:00 you got you frame rate and shutter speed settings reversed. Shutter speed is double frame rate, not half.
Yes, that was a verbal mistake. Thank you for watching Meem
couldn't you add sharpness to the Drone via a slider?
Yes you can
Night mode does make a difference. Looking forward in the next few days of purchasing the Mavic 3.
Looking forward to hearing about your experience with the Mavic 3! Thanks for tuning in.
Good video, Currently, I have the DJI Air2s, love the drone, but I'm considering adding the Mavic 3 Classic for night photography / videography and the additional features. Do you have a comparison video of the Air2s vs. Mavic 3 Classic?
I never owned any of the air series by DJI. The mavic 3 with the sensor size alone will blow the air2s out the park in a low light environment.
@@MrEddieNunez I added the Mavic 3 Classic to my drone collection. So far pretty good, I did notice the difference with using night mode. Good tip, I'm considering the Neat Plug in for FCP X
@@edwardwardmedia congrats on your purchase!
great review, I enjoyed watching the whole video! Unfortunately the cine is way too expensive, I thought about saving for the classic
Great job Eddie and I love your shade of lipstick 💄...did you have beauty mode on?
😊
I wonder what shooting in log and manual settings would of produced.
Good question
Night looked good, but it made the images way. softer and took out some contrast. With neat video it bought back the sharpness and contrast, but there was noise still dancing in the sky. So it's still a trade off ,noise in the sky or softness and no noise. . This is one of autels greatest strengths, night performance. If autels takes a lesson from dji on flight performance, which they have gotten better, and dji takes a lesson from night performance from autel, both will have near perfect drones. No drone or any product will be perfect as they are man, but they can get close.
Totally agree with your statement. I do prefer to remove noise in post vs shooting in night mode for the reasons you mentioned. I never owned a Autel drone, so I cant speak to the performance of one of those units.
Cool video, never knew Rockaway beach was a real place, thought it was just a Ramones song.
It’s real 😅
Night mode is great, but I can’t stand that you cannot use any of the tracking features with it, I do a ton of night video with the m3pro and rather just use reg pic profile with some denotes in post, same results, and you can use tracking
Could someone explain why it is more recommended to use 30fps for cinematic video than 60fps?
At 60 FPS your shutter needs to be 1/120, which will make your image darker.... less light. At 30 fps your shutter should be 1/60
@@MrEddieNunez thank you, do you also know any good settings for sunset?
I don’t even own a Mavic 3, but living in California I enjoy looking at your skyline
Glad you enjoyed the skyline. I want to make it to California and drone some time in the future.
Hey Eddie, just bought the Classic we made it bro
Congratulations!!!
I made it and enjoyed the video!
I appreciate you 🙏
Can you do a video of night mode in the dark without the ambient lighting please?
NYC is pretty lit up. If I come across something I will do so.
Great video Eddie. I think that the noise reduction in the M3 has its purpose. A quick, no editing way to post to social media. For most people, non-professional, it has its advantages.
I did not see any your video posted showing manual (pro) mode. IE; keeping the ISO low and slowing the shutter speed to compensate. If you did that, what settings did you use and what was the result?
I am headed to Austin for Christmas and will get some night video of downtown and will play with setting a and night mode and do some comparisons.
BTW…it’s funny to see you without headphones on, because I’ve only watched you when you are doing livestreams with Ken dobo…lol.
One other question…if not the M3…then what other drone can deliver better night video without breaking the bank? Thx
Hey droneXSky. Yes, totally worth it for quick exports as you mentioned. In this video I kept everything in auto except for the last part at the beach. I used 1/60 shutter, f2.8 and iso around 800. Thanks for checking out the video! I look better without headphones lol
@@imadroner I don’t think any other drone compares. If I had to pick I’d say inspire 2. I’m making that video soon, inspire 2 vs mavic 3 for night
@@MrEddieNunez awesome Eddie…thanks for your opinion. I’ll be looking for it…subscribed to your channel!
Best results you get if you shoot in manual mode and post production it.
Yes, I understand. However I wanted to do a unbiased test and let the drone do all the work.
What computer do you use for editing
Mac Studio 😍
Did you know that in your first under bridge shot you are standing in the spot famous from the Blackwell Legacy game?
Anyway it's a thorough video, but I think a bit misleading. The reason for night-mode/pre-NR has nothing to do with convenience, it's simply to a way to reduce the noise before the drone applies the h265 compression (which doesn't do well with noise). You're still supposed to tweak it in post, but the h265 file is more efficient with some noise removed. In other words if you have the cine drone (with the prores codec) you would rarely use the night mode, but if you have the non-cine you would to help the h265 compression.
I have the Cine version and I can tell you that you can grade h254, h265, and ProRes exactly the same on this drone. ProRes does not add more flexibility.
@@MrEddieNunez so jealous, I only got the regular one. So in these "post-NR" tests did you use h265 or ProRes?
I would say that for daytime grading, they would be roughly identical, but that the ProRes shines for high ISO noise.
Why not have a fourth option of Normal mode and fixed ISO 3200 instead of full AUTO? The full AUTO probably went to ISO 6400 which is much noisier. Noone serious into video uses full AUTO. Also, which ISO did you choose for Night mode? It can be 3200, 6400 or 12,800. Night mode with ISO 6400 is quite a bit better than 12,800.
I left it all in auto for the first video. You are right, no one that knows cameras leave it in full auto, however I wanted to let the drone do all the work for this example. I am preparing another video where I control all my camera settings the way I typically do. That video I am preparing will be a shorter follow-up to this one. I appreciate your feedback! thank you! Happy Holiday!
@@MrEddieNunez Great! Can’t wait. Your clips are awesome. Also let us know the ISO you use in Night mode.
@@dfwald4657 Will do! I am also screen recording for full transparency.
You noticed there'd been improvements to Night Mode in the latest update, right? It takes it up to 1600 ISO.
I don't think anyone would argue that a $130 plug-in, for a $21/ month program, that's run on a multi-thousand dollar computer, with all the time in the world to operate, BTW, will perform better than real-time, de-noise program, running realtime, in the drone.
I'm not sure if you mentioned this but Neat tends to take up A LOT of time/ computational resources to process and you can't do much of anything else while it's working. Depending on your computer, of course. Oh and "made it"...
Have not noticed. Now that you pointed it out I will check it out. I know they added 24/25 fps in night mode.
@@MrEddieNunez Yup! That's interesting for sure but I still think a wider aperture will still win this fight in the long run.
what brand of monitor do you use?
Those monitors are from Acer. I have since switched to the LG 5K ultra wide display.
Wow 25mins of so called blabbering, trust me I couldn't skip the video bcoz of your well researched methodical approach to test the night mode video in 3 different scenarios. I wish you had shared some night footage for users to test on their own.
In fairness to you, Eddie, your 25-minute video symposium should actually be divided into 3 separate individual parts as you're presenting a whole lot of useful information that can't entirely be processed in a way that each mode deserves from and untrained an inexperienced eye (like myself).
I appreciate that feedback. I was trying out long form content.... my trial with this is done and I will return to short form content. LOL
The title says "Mavic 3 Classic" but it the drone in your hand at the beach is not the classic. Correct?
I had both, Classic and Cine with me. Either way its the same camera.
You can see the Classic at the outro.
@@MrEddieNunez Gotcha
you right... night mode will def soften your image
I recommend adding grain back to the Night Mode video in order to make it look less like plastic.
Hya Bud, I thought you were very honest in my experienced. You were not being blabberly but sharing your opine. I watch everything to the end and learned a few things so am happy to have learned from your honest work. Thank YOU for sharing.
People who love flying cameras are a good group of people and I like such people and their ideas and views. I like this newer Mavic even more than my Mavic 2 Pro with Hasselblad. I like night mode but have no city lights nearby so it is not very useful unless I take it to China on vacation. That would be GREAT next year if this stupid Fauchi Covid stops!!!
Ray C. in Florida
Thanks Ray! Glad you enjoyed the video and found it helpful.
The image looks great but I couldn't help to notice that it looks waay too digital for my taste. It looks like a video game not reality. It seems DJI have introduced some kind of software based exposure blending like the cell phone cameras
I was thinking the same. I prefer standard video mode and reduce noise in post.
If this is what the classic's night mode looks like. Im curious to see what it looks like on the pro. Should be better.
It’s the same. They both share the same sensor.
Night mode looks great, I'm going to have to sell my M2P to get the M3
M3 is totally worth the investment. Thanks for watching
Looks like it's not compatible with Filmora 12 which is a pity as it's my go to video editing software.
Ah man. Sorry.
You might have better luck if you change your settings to 4k.
@@Droneswayup this was shot in 4k
@@MrEddieNunez what program do you use to edit? I used DaVinci resolve and filmora 12. I noticed when shooting with the air2s when editing in filmora it does best when I edit in 4k. If I'm using 5.1 or anything other than 4K it has a problem recognizing it.
Yeah, Nah. Not paying for a third party noise reduction to achieve what is basically almost same thing you achieve with a night mode, plus cutting down the time you waste to fiddle with all that. Night mode is brilliant for at least 90% of occasions in my opinion.
I’m still don’t get all that Terminology lol but awesome vid
Unless you test these things you really don’t know. Also seems that night mode unnecessarily lightens the night sky. Nice work.
Thank you
