3 Second Tent? Worth It? Today I share with you, a product I added to my preps. Everyone should have a tent in their preparedness items. This tent sets up in no time. Reactive Outdoor 2 Second Tent.
I bought one for cycling touring. The floor is too thin, with doubts it will survive camping in the rough without being punctured. Easy to erect but hard to pack. The poles are flimsy and collapse at a touch of wind and most all it leaks. Save your money, I wish I did.
Puddle alert !- I've just bought the small sized one, and although workmanship is good, a major design flaw is that the top is not domed or even flat, but actually sags to form a "crater" or rain trap . Don't take my word for it, checkout some vids. The small "top cover" doesn't cover the whole crater, so any rain falling towards the outer edges of the crater will run inwards towards the centre and form a puddle which might then trickle down the centre spindle. I'll try making a bigger top cover myself out of spare waterproof material to cover the whole diameter of the crater which should solve the problem.
Starting on this playlist today. It was nice meeting you yesterday. I'll be checking on you throughout the day and I hope we can stay connected. I know I'll learn a lot from you. 🤗♥️
I would also carry a tarp with this tent. Just in case of equipment failure, you could set up a tarp tent, and the tarp could also be used as a shade or precipitation barrier. I would also use seam tape on the seams of this tarp. I use it on all tents for extra insurance against seam failures in tents.
Gear Aid Seam Grip WP Waterproof Sealant and Adhesive for Tents and Outdoor Fabric, Clear, 1 oz@@visionpreparedness Seam tape or a seam adhesive will ensure a more waterproof seal as all seams in all tents and tarps with a centerline will eventually deteriorate due to extreme storage conditions or regular use of the equipment ,if not treated
I HAVE ONE!! Hope you do continued independent reviews... For some reason Reactive Outdoor blocks comments on their videos and there are very few other reviews. I was given one as a gift; I used water repellent spray all over it and upgraded my tent stakes. I guess it’s a decent little thing for lightweight, fine weather camping. One tent pole did break the second time I set it up, right at a hinge too (thank God for duct tape), and the material is already fraying around the zippers. For people wondering about size, I put a standard twin air mattress in and it fit perfectly lengthwise, so you can probably just fit a queen as long as you inflate inside the tent. With just a twin, plenty of room for a big dog and my gear.
Nice 👍 video Bro! Thank you for taking the time to make it. I saw this tent on Google and came to CZcams for a video. The only other one I saw of this tent showed a chick in fast forward pulling it up and then camera instantly went off it. Terrible video!!! Yours was perfect, thanks again 🙏
IcePike, thank you very much. I purchased both sizes. And for the money I think it's worth it for sure! Very easy to put up and take down. My opinion it's worth the money. Thanks for your support!
@@visionpreparedness I just like to watch tent videos lol. Honestly I wouldn’t purchase a tent like this. Glad you enjoy it. I like the hub style one I been seeing by Gazelle I think. Those are kinda cool. I have an ice hut same principle as that tent. I wish some company would come out with that Gazelle type tent but made of canvas and rated for all 4 seasons. I like to camp in the winter time ❄️ I have a canvas Trek tent that I’ve had for 20 years. Great tent and has held up well. Too bad they stopped making that one, it was a very affordable canvas tent. I think I paid $200 or so for it 20 years ago. 14’ x 10’ if I remember right. I think right before they stopped making them they were at $340 which in this day and age was a great price still for a durable canvas tent.
Only a 30 day warranty. Mine leaked terrible and the wind picked up and one of the pole snapped. I braced it and another one snapped. I called it because of safety. I was stuck with the piece of junk because it was past the warranty period. They do not care if you explain how much of a lemon it is either if the warranty is past. Sorry you had a bad experience. Good by! lol No I wouldn't recommend it. In a survival situation? No way its not safe.
Great video. The stores videos have no comments and are the basics only. How is it faring? Is this a large or small size? Looks like a small? I Just purchased the small one online, but after seeing its specifications I am a bit anxious as to if I can fit a single mattress in it. I'm only 5ft, but the mattresses/stretchers are long, 186cm+ upwards. The website didn't state which tent size tent the queen standard would fit, per FAQs. What mattresses/stretchers fit in the small one? What do you/those who have one use? Worse case, be a great shady setup for the beach days or day events. Be great to hear how fares in the wet weather. A flooring pad underneath and tarp would aid with weather and rough ground. Looks like they listened to feedback on having 2 zippers per mesh for oepning ease.
Is there a military.smell.spray I can spray so I can reminess was about my military days Great video Will.be great to take my grandson along his.stuff takes most of my room
The small claims to be for 2 people. The large claims to be 2-3 people. Thanks for your support. The large would you more room and plenty of space for yourself and all your gear.
I was really interested in how the top closes. It appears in the other videos, that you use your thumbs to click it. Can a small lady like me have the ability to click it closed? Thanks.
Another video did a real rain test after getting another of this RJ tents both leak water..NOT a good rain proof tent…be careful..the idea is great, but? Buyer’s beware..
This tent needs a 6x6 light tarp over the whole thing. The open umbrella hub is very exposed. It also needs it because the tent is not sealed....just sewn with fat upholstery needles. You can see daylight on the stitches. Unfortunately the umbrella struts are unlikely to be able to support a wet tarp. They often break according to reviews. A traditional Coleman 7x7 dome is $50 at WM...the Ozark Trail is $30

I have not tested it in the rain yet
Great review, very quick pop up it is and spacious. Waterproof is a plus. Gotta have tents in our preparedness plan indeed.
I have been keeping my eyes on this tent, so I went ahead and grabbed them! Thanks for your support!
Found this in my time-line and enjoyed the watch.
Awesome, thank you bro!

It now comes with a free tarp. But...
@@ralphtechnow4867 Mine came with a free thick groundsheet, I suppose it could be used as a tarp but it's a bit heavy.

@@SVMSICE I would love a real 4 season tent...I dont camp alot...but when I do, I want a simple yet reliable tent.
Wow, very impressive I must say
It's a pretty nice tent. Hook hanging from top inside for a light and a side pocket I side for other items!
Great emergency Tent!! Thanks
It really is a nice tent for sure!

Great video! Ohio 💪
Thanks! 👍
That's a good size. It would be a mansion for me 😂
Of course it would! :)
Looks like the rain would come in the top if you have a sideways rain. Other than that very cool the way it sets up and looks. Nice video.
:) I was thinking about a sideways rain....you could be right!
@@visionpreparedness by the way I subscribed! Both here and from my channel. I like the way you went through your get home bags video as well .

Have you tested in in the rain yet? Curious to know how it faired. Good review!
Thank you, I have not tested it in the rain yet. Will do a follow up video in the rain.
In the rain this tent is not nice.
A lot of water inside.
You can see it on CZcams video
Video would of been ideal seeing you Dismantle the tent to
Thanks for the tip, I will do a part 2.
How small is the small, I’m 5”7 165 pounds thinking of getting the small, or would the large be better?
The small claims to be for 2 people. The large claims to be 2-3 people. Thanks for your support. The large would you more room and plenty of space for yourself and all your gear.
I think you need to yank it up in the air a bit harder…. But that’s quick
Quick it was....yes I probably could of gotten it taller
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🇧🇷
THEY ALL LEAK REALLY BAD DURING THE RAIN !!!!!!!
Mine did not leak
Pitch it a couple of times and see what happens....
I can say it help up in the rain with no leaks
DUDE, it took you right around nine minutes to set up a 2 second tent!
Total yes, 3 sec to pull tent top up and all legs extended
I was really interested in how the top closes. It appears in the other videos, that you use your thumbs to click it. Can a small lady like me have the ability to click it closed? Thanks.
Teresa, yes it clicks closed very easy!
Another video did a real rain test after getting another of this RJ tents both leak water..NOT a good rain proof tent…be careful..the idea is great, but? Buyer’s beware..
Where did yours leak at?
One smooth quick motion up, not shaking slowly. Goodbye.
It steaks down pretty well
Sir. How tall are you?
I'm 6"3
looked like your snagged the zip with the mozzi net probably a weak point 'cheap' zips and build quality
Yep zippers are not the best quality for sure!
The rainfly would be worthless in a breeze
Probably

@STho205 you are correct, I think they have a new version out with a built in rain fly. Thank you very much for the information!
