Year of golden memories.
Being 12, stuck on an island with one radio show and one small record shop, desperately trying to discover and understand this music with no internet sure seems magical today haha.
Couple of years getting hooked to cyberspace and hunting down tunes on soulseek at 30 kb/s ... ahhhh

This album is one of the reasons I started DJing. I was 17 when this album dropped. These women were my inspiration! R.I.P. Kemistry ❤️
Idem. It was the first vinyl compilation (after listening to the CD) I bought in order to mix it. Great memories....
Wow thank you for sharing! Much Luv!
A perfect picture of everything I love about Drum 'n Bass... What a time it was! RIP Kemistry and BIG UP Storm still out there making people dance! Love from Finland Jungle Massive!!!

Let me guess. You all became depressed after finding out that most records in the shops are just rubbish and boring and it takes an incredible amount of work to find something of true value.
And when the world needed him most, He disappeared
Unlike other people here im way too young to remember the 90s, but stumbling over this channel is still one of the best things thats ever happened to me as it has showed me a world full of amazing music. Thank you

Don't sweat it, it's not that deep. I'm turning 42 this year and I still missed out on a tonne of the good shit.
From the cover: "Bass synthesized from analogue frequencies, welded together until they concuss, forcefields tweaked to emit hostile tones that swarm with sullen anger". Woah, woah, woah...
just the tiniest peek into the dimensions beyond this curtain
You forgot to mention the wet cement part. Bad bad not good.
This is a masterpiece. Raw, dark, hypnotic and beautiful. It always was and it always will be!
Werd! Timeless, flawless, victory, fatality ;)
You know them ways.
Rest in peace Kemistry.... Huge loss to the drum & bass scene and even though it's been a long time since her passing we'll never forget or forget what she brought to this electronic brand of music.

On the Sunday night of the last Glasto before the pandemic, I'd read that DJ storm was closing off the Stonebridge bar. I'd heard of her legendary status with Kemistry way back when, but never seen her in action, so I settled in with the squad for an all night rave up in the bar. The DJs before did theirselves justice, but when Storm took to the decks it was phenomenal. Slick mixing, driving bass, and the perfect mix of rude tunes in amongst some euphoric mind benders. I'll never forget her last track, sent the whole tent into pandemonium. BIG UPS! not many do it better !!
what was the track out of curiosity?
25:10 one of the best transitions I've ever heard in a mix. RIP Kemistry
Yes! YES! YAAAAS! From my first listen back in 99 til today. Gets me EVERY time
Indeed! And a wonderful track also: czcams.com/video/s440mu5yUNQ/video.html
Yeah it's a beautiful transition of moods, that cheeky dark bassline into ethereal synths.
the whole mix though... I really can't pinpoint a favorite moment
Yeah top drawer mixing
Ambiance for me is an archeologist of the 90's musical culture
RIP Kemistry, wasnt even aware of the story till I heard this mix. What a fantastic talent
RIP Always Kemistry❤️..
One of the best Drum & Bass partnership's ever Jayne Conneely (DJ storm) & Valerie Olukemi (DJ kemistry) RIP❤
you're hands down one of the best channels on CZcams
honestly a legend every release is gold
As someone who got into DnB in 2005ish, this channel is single-handedly teaching me about what came before. I knew the basics, Ed Rush & Optical, Teebee, Photek etc, but this exposes me to shit I'd probably never stumble across on my own. Mad props d-_-b
Hands down is the best on YT
..I concur!

When the world needed him most, he vanished.
15:16 Jewelcase cover comment: ""Throughout Kemistry&Storm's mix, the breakflow switches from pacy and punchy to rigified mekanik. As sluggish as wet cement yet as treacherous as quicksand, digital rhythm is industrialized to extreme densities, processed past the timbral spectrum of metal, reinforced to the tonecolour of concrete. Bass is synthesized from analogue frequencies, welded together until they concuss, forcefields tweaked to emit hostile tones that swarm with sullen anger...""

Love this genre. While you grown ups were clubbing I had to wait for Anime powerblock intermissions, my older brothers and sisters and videogames to hear this kind of music. Beggars can't be choosers. Better late than never, I suppose.
I have lived this album ever since I found it way back in the day. I miss the 90’s!

Absolutely love this late 90's early 2000's album art/photos. Brings me back so hard. Aphrodite and an AK1200 mixtape in 1999 were the first DnB cds I had.

I don't care what anybody thinks or says...greatest DnB DJ mix compilation ever to hit the shelfs. I played this one probably 5000 times ... The Everywhere I Go RMX was my summer time soundtrack of 99.
Hyena I by Goldie was another masterpiece track (love the Ringz of Saturn EP)... so much greatness.
Don't forget Hard noise by Dillinja. Absolute masterpiece.
@@Kick_RocksI prefer other tracks from Dillinja. Silver Blade, The Angels Fell and the remix of Lemon D - Two Techniques...

this is so good. just sizzled me in a skillet like a sardine
music is weird. the harmonic series is older than atoms. maybe as old or older than gravity. the harmonic series underpins melody, but how ancient is rythm? our hearts and minds are machines built to operate with these ancient systems. are we tapping into something like the fabric of the universe itself? or is it just that ancient endlessness that existed when we were in the womb? when rythm itself was nascent?

the peshay studio set you uploaded opened my eyes to something amazing, i hope your doing well, and if not, i hope it gets better. thank you for uploading this music for all to hear, it has gotten me thru so much.
You are singlehandedly responsible for beginning the revival of DnB in the US. In the US, the only mainstream electronic music is Dubstep and Melodic House. Fucking youtuber EDM. Whoever you are, wherever you are, you are a hero and the electronic community here thanks you greatly. The timeline of DnB's popularity in the US literally starts with MSX FM in GTA 3 and then nothing, nineteen years of nothing, until YOU posted Peshay's 1996 Studio Set.
This channel is definitely a huge factor. What I've noticed though is people genuinely getting tired of dubstep and house and turning to the fabled tale of drum n bass haha, most people who actually rave in america aren't familiar with the 90s stuff unfortunately
Already been two years. Feels like yesterday when Ambiance uploaded this
wuuuuuuuatttt!!!? i used to bootleg this album in venezuela!
I remember hearing the news of Kemistry’s tragic and freak passing on one of the specialist DnB radio shows late in the evening. I think it was on Kiss FM and either Grooverider or LTJ did the show. Gone far too early. Thank you for uploading this memory.
It was Fabio and Grooverider on Radio 1, AFAIK Goldie went out with her or something. I was listening to the show for a while and it kind of first got me more into drum and bass, it was on after 12 or 1am when I was delivering pizzas way back when.
This takes me back.
I think '97 onwards for me. I wasn't into some of the early days tunes. For me DnB had to find its feet & mature, before I got the bug proper. At the time, it reminded me of the infancy of House music, 10+ years before, where the hot styles would change every week, until it went overground, & died out. Which is where the real heads turned to the Breakbeat scene, moving to Jungle Techno, & then, onto 'Drum and low end' (DnL!).
Back in the day 🔥🔊 proper sets these 👌
Aww i remember having this cd 💿 good times
Ambiance, Thanks for this music !!!
