Had the good fortune to see Sam Bush as a special guest of Little Feat at their Feat Fan Excursion in Negril Jamaica, 2006. What a treat! Saw him last summer; he's gotten better!
You may never witness a more incredible impromptu performance by any artist in any genre of music.
Sam Bush, always kills it!
This song makes me smile for obvious reasons. Sam is the best. Just a great performer. And a stand-up person too.
Sam is the kind of musician i wish there were more of!!! Reg guy no nonsense. Just a nice talented dude!
he does standup??
Same here. I saw Lowell George and Little Feat on the Waiting for Columbus tour, Dec. 78 in Norman, OK. And now to have Sam Bush playing it? Nothing like it!
I was at that show too!! They had half the arena closed off. LIttle Feat at center court.
This is one of my favorite things ever. Thanks.
I WAS SO HAPPY TO HAVE FOUND THIS!! MY ALL TIME FAVORITE COVER OF LITTLE FEAT. I FIRST HARD IT AT THE LONESOME PINE SPECIAL IN LOUISVILLE WITH THE NGR. YOU AND JOHN DID A DUET OF IT. BOTH MY SON, WHO IS ALSO AN AVID FAN, THOUGHT THAT THIS WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE PERFORMANCE. SINCE THAT TIME, THANKS TO PHIL WAKEMAN I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO HANG WITH YOU AND PLAY SOFTBALL,MUSIC AND ALL THE OTHER GREAT THINGS WE INDULDGED IN. ROCK ON THIS IS AWESOME!!! DAVID KEATOR
I saw him at the Ryman in about 1994 as part of Emmylou Harris' band. He did this song alone onstage with the lap steel player and just crushed it. It was one of the highest energy parts of the show. Never forgot that.
Love Sam Bush with his antique Gibson mandolin! They go together just like peant butter & jelly! SWEET! 😋
I grew up listening to this mandolin. I can never get enough!
All I can say is WOW
Great! Thanks for your incredible body of work and I really appreciate your influence...thanks so much Sam
I was really digging this, then he went into Crossroads and my mind was blown.

welcome...you'll never get tired of hearing him. this is a perfect example of his skills. start diggin' man, there's plenty to go around.
Sam Bush is the most underrated musician! He’s a quadruple threat. And yes this solo performance is killer. Saw him with his band a few years ago. One of (or best) sounding shows ever.
Absolutely
Phenonomal!!! And pretty damn good, too,,!!!!
My musical hero.
Amazing 🔥🔥🔥
awesome!
@notthebannerboys I agree. I was lucky enough to see Lowell George and Little Feat perform back in the mid-70s. Sam takes the song to a new place. Too cool.
Lowell George you are MISSED!!!
Can't wait to see him at ROMP in Owensboro, KY. June 27, 28, 29
Woohoo! Sam Bush, ladies and gentlemen!

Close enough indeed!
Smiles to all the people that picture Scrapple in their head
Nice !
Sam's the man!!
Little Feat is my favorite band and Bruce Hornsby is my favorite solo artist. But Sam Bush takes this sound in a different direction and I am in a state of euphoria, ha, ha. Well Goodle Days and other tracks are cool as hell too. I saw on the internet him playing with Levon Helm an the Ryman Auditorium. Sam Bush is the best blue grass around.
“Close enough”, lol.
Get him in Madison WI this Thursday 😁
SUPERB
new grass revial...one of the best ever bands. i think they should get back together
oh yeah!!!
Love it will txt you after song tyvm
"Close enough" Yeah Sam, I'd say!
Holy crap!
@mybluegrass777- Sam Bush has played this in concert......years ago. I have seen him twice when I was younger about 12-14 years ago and yes, sailin' shoes was played.....both times. It is too popular a song with him for him to not play it.
Wow
Sweet
@puffdusty JEALOUS!!
damn....nuff said
Me too
smokin' some Sam Kush right now
Lady in a turban, cocaine tree
Does a dance so rhythmically
She's cryin', and a singin' and having a time
and gee that cocaine tree look fine
You've got to put on your sailin' shoes
Put on your sailing shoes
Everyone will start to cheer
When you put on your sailin' shoes
Jedidiah, he's got a dime
Says he catch a more fish, every time
Well I've got a line, and you've got a pole
And I'll meet you at the fishin' hole
You've got to put on your sailin' shoes
Put on your sailing shoes
Everyone will start to cheer
When you put on your sailin' shoes
Doctor, doctor, I feel so bad
This is the worst day, I ever had
Have you this misery a very long time?
Well if you if, I'll lay it on the line
You've got to put on your sailin' shoes
Put on your sailing shoes
Everyone will start to cheer
When you put on your sailin' shoes

I went down to the crossroads
Fell down on my knees
I went down to the crossroads
Fell down on my knees
Asked the Lord above for mercy
"Save me if you please"
I went down to the crossroads
Tried to flag a ride
I went down to the crossroads
Tried to flag a ride
Nobody seemed to know me
Everybody passed me by
I'm going down to Rosedale
Take my rider by my side
I'm going down to Rosedale
Take my rider by my side
You can still barrelhouse, baby
On the riverside
You can run, you can run
Tell my friend-boy Willie Brown
You can run, you can run
Tell my friend-boy Willie Brown
And I'm standing at the crossroads
Believe I'm sinking down
starts at 0:48 approx.
kinda cool
Talent on steroids!!!
GO CAT GO!!
OL HOSS IN THE HIZZ
Was that Will Lee at the end?
0:40
familiar green screen audience at the intro.
HEY.I just wanted to write that.
fuckit you can't fuck with that
Nah . . . boy can play, but he ain't been nowhere where Lowell or Robert wuz . . . ain't no sold soul . . . ain't no reflexions . . . ain't no aftermath . . .
GTFO
while Sam is great - this is the most ridiculous style to cover this song....although I suppose that cocaine tree sure looks fine and makes you want to play it fast!!!
