Advocating on Capital Hill

Sondra Rothwell, RN, our Advocacy Director, and Dawn Warner our CEO, had the honor of advocating on Capitol Hill for several critical legislative items: the S.652/H.R.2630 Safe Step Act, the S.1375/H.R. 830 Help Ensure Lower Patient (HELP) Copay Act, and in support of full funding for the Office of Autoimmune Disease Research under the National Institutes of Health this week. We were honored to participate in the first legislative fly-in for the Autoimmune Association. While we participated under with the Autoimmune Association it was also a first for representatives from the MG Holistic Society. For that, we felt proud to bring awareness to Myasthenia Gravis as well as the three initiatives.
We strongly encourage individuals affected by chronic illnesses, along with autoimmune organizations, to engage with their senators and representatives. It is crucial to convey the importance of these legislative initiatives. Your advocacy can make a significant difference.
Please take the time to review the aforementioned acts and consider taking action immediately. With this being an election year, political views aside, we have the opportunity to elect officials who will champion our interests. Elections provide a strategic moment to emphasize our requests to senators and congress members.
Advocating on behalf of those who could benefit from the passage of these acts has been profoundly meaningful to us. We are dedicated to persevering in our efforts to make a difference.
