Philippines has solved the problem in first half. In the first half, they have no option from a broken play but resorted to one on one. The Japan offense focused on the freethrow area as their anchor and pivot point. In the second half, I observed some adjustment from the Phil side that created a trouble on the Japanese side. Philippines shifted to 3-2 zone and occasional 2-3 if needed. They run pretty nice offense, a double pin down on top and on weak side. Japan did not recover from then, good coaching from the Philippine side and Alas was on fire. Congrats Philippines.

新郷くんの離脱と高田くんの退場が痛かったなぁ。2人がいれば勝てたという単純な話でもないですが。選手のタレント力、個々のポテンシャルは日本の方が上(しかしフィリピンの9番はとても良い)と感じましたが、組織力でフィリピンが上回りました。
昨年のu16インド戦、U18イラン戦、韓国戦でもゾーンに苦しみましたが、今回も打開出来ませんでしたね。マルチネスHCの采配に批判できるポイントはあるでしょうが、これはミニバスからの課題かなあ。
U17を経験できないのは選手たちのことを思うと苦い気分。ただ、経験がより少ない5人の中学生(うち1人は14歳)がこの完全アウェーな雰囲気や、難しいゲームを経験できたことは糧になるはず(月並みですが)。来年にはU18があります。高田くんや新郷くん、ベネディクトくんや白谷くんは呼ばれる可能性がじゅうぶんある。すぐ先の舞台でさっそくこの経験を活かせるかもしれない。チームとしては同じ轍を踏まないよう、ゾーン対策を用意してみてほしい。

In fairness sa coaching staff maganda ang adjustment nila sa offense at defense. Sa last 2 ball possession nakaconvert sila ng 4 points with a decoy play from Alas from the top pick and roll going to the roller sa basket. Magkasunod na ganon play yon. Yong defense nila na 2-3 zone ang pumigil sa Japan para makapag counter.
Ung late adjustment nila sa last quarter na 3-2 zone, un ung gumulo sa opensa ng japan..

May luck factor din pala ang pagka panalo ng mga Cadets. Outrebounded sila by 22, like 58 to 36. Bumawi ang mga bata by playing through their strengths along with limiting the turnovers, and getting some crucial steals.
Yung defensive adjustments and the grit of the boys were evident in the 2nd half. Coach Josh definitely had done good adjustments despite the rebound handicap.
with the tallest in a line-up not even reaching at least 6'9" strong rebounder expected na talaga that any team that is small ay outrebounded talaga. Good thing naglaro ang buong team sa kanilang strenghts that is why they won this game. Kudos for them we are now qualifying in FIBA Youth WC
Grabe ung offensive rebounds ng japan😅. Tama, maganda ung offense completo, merong iso meron din namang plays. Sa depensa, maganda ung late adjustment nila sa last quarter nakagulo sa opensa ng japan at i think un ung isa sa mga main key kung bakit sila nanalo.
