Nottingham Child Abuse Victim Speaks Out | This Morning

It’s the latest child abuse scandal to hit the headlines: according to a recent independent enquiry, hundreds of children in the Nottingham area were sexually and physically abused by foster carers and residential care home staff dating back to the 1960s. The inquiry has received around 350 complaints of “threatening, violent and sexualising” behaviour towards children which was “tolerated or overlooked, allowing abusers to thrive.” Claire Blake has spoken out about the cruel treatment she was subjected to during the late 80s and early 90s as a 12-year-old girl, which she says ruined her life as a result. She joins us on the sofa alongside former Detective Constable turned campaigner, Maggie Oliver as they seek justice for the victims involved and demand for the perpetrators to be held responsible.
