  • Throughout the immense lore of the Monster Hunter series, there have been Five Legendary Black Dragons in the Mainline games with an added two in spinoffs, making a grand total of Seven Black Dragons altogether. However, three of these Black Dragons are actually just One Black Dragon in three variations. This is the Fatalis Trio of the Monster Hunter series!

Fatalis is a god like creature who's name is able to shake fear into even other elder dragons, said to be able to regrow from a single scale with an unending hatred for all living things, seeing this monster is like looking at death's door
Crimson Fatalis is pure rage itself, believed to have been defeated once which is why one horn is longer, as the horns may have been broken by the one defeated it, able to summon meteors from the heavens, this demonic creature threatens even a normal fatalis
White Fatalis is death itself, there is nothing else to tell you, if you meet this literal god

I have a theory on how they can connect Fatalis with the update storyline Iceborne has set up. The theory is that Alatreon didn’t go to the Secluded Valley because of the bio energy or the potential threat of Safi Jiiva, he went there just because he’s running away from Fatalis, and that Alatreon would rather take his chances with Safi Jiiva rather than stay in the Old World with a Fatalis coming out of hiding. I think this is a good way to establish Fatalis as a terrifying force to be reckoned and that even something as powerful like Alatreon would fear it.

I don't think Alatreon ran away from Fatalis, this is not the first time Fatalis appearing, why didn't he run away last time? And why Alatreon come to Secluded Valley? If he just wants to run away from Fatalish and live in the New World, he can just live anywhere else. Alatreon hates any living being, he usually avoids them and lives in a place where there is no life, but he came to Secluded Valley, the home of the Red Dragon, there must be a reason for it, and I think that is the same reason Fatalis come out of hiding.

    • @noahgarcia2711
      @noahgarcia2711 Před 3 lety +13

Infinity Gaming that’s a good point, and we’ll know on October 1. However, unless Capcom adds a surprise on Iceborne 5th update which could potentially have something to do with the Jiiva line, I still think Fatalis appearance may have caused Alatreon to flee to the New World. Also I like to add that one of the requirements to getting the Fatalis Hunt would be to do the Alatreon hunt. So there definitely is a connection between the two of them. Also Alatreon would have definitely went to the Secluded Valley because it’s probably strong with bio energy and it’s out of the reach of most living things in the New World. All it had to do would be to kill Safi Jiiva and some nosy hunters, and the valley is all his. The part when Alatreon was throwing a tantrum in the cutscene, I think that’s him just marking his territory so that other monsters wouldn’t even dare try entering there. However, I do hope Capcom does more with the Jiiva line and how it connects to Alatreon and Fatalis.

Actually, after completing the Alatreon mission the handler actually says that there was a connection between Alatreon and the "mysterious red dragon" (Safi jiva). So i guess that it doesn't have anything to do with Fatalis.

This is meant to represent you death and the rebirth of the Fatalis....... a bit anticlimactic that after your HP drop to 0 you simply get respawned in camp but still a noce skill in my opinion.

Remember that we actually slay fatalis? Well, he's not actually dead yet. Using his last ounce of strength to escape Castle Schrade. The black dragon distance itself far away to his former dwelling considering all of his scars and deep wound, he kept going and finds himself on a smoldering and fiery lands of a volcano. Fatalis stands still in awe on how those pathetic humans can kill him, The Fear Incarnate. Of all those thoughts, he fell down and sink into a deep lake of fire.
After a period of time, he rises again. Its scars and wounds are now gone, his scales changed from black to fiery crimson, he spread his lava-covered wings and pillar of flames appeared. Standing tall at the top if the volcano holding a relentless grudge onto those hunters, releasing an roar full of wrath and hatred that shakes everything to the ground, erupting all the small villages near it and turn it into a place of burnt corpses. His agitated roar signifies a warning that he will swore his eternal and fiery revenge not just to the hunter, but to humankind. From now on, he's no longer the fear incarnate, but *THE DEVIL INCARNATE* Crimson Fatalis.

According to the current artbook there haven't been any records, neither burned nor hidden. Only Wyverian murals and tales exist. And that's concerning the normal one. It's all explained in the artbook they released. In there it also explains that Fatalis doesn't actively melt its prey to its body, it's just its incredible body heat that does it while it sleeps on its prey. The legends of Fatalis armour also probably don't exist, because if no one had seen it, no one could have forged the armour. As for what is official right now, the sightings of all Fatalis in the series are deemed official in terms of lore as they are all connected, in part, to the character simply dubbed "Scarlet Mystery Man" (which is usually the client that hands out the Black Dragon Quests). Depending on how you treat MH Frontier, the lore behind Fatalis melting people onto its body to become armor is attributed mostly to the Frontier iterations of Fatalis moreso than mainline because those versions of Fatalis were actually drawn from ideas that didn't make it to mainline. Gonna be interesting to see what they do with it in World. I mean, in previous games, most Fatalis hunts have been kind of unimpressive, where the power of fatalis was mostly just represented by the fact that it had a bunch of health and dealt so much damage that even chip damage from its tail could take you out if you weren't careful but it wasn't anything unique or special, just kind of unbalanced. The only Fatalis encounter in a main series game that really managed to live up to the status of the monster was in my opinion the Event Quest Crimson Fatalis from 4U which was one of the hardest fights in the entire game (probably the hardest if we aren't including lv. 140 Guild Quests).

Alright I'm late to this. But i wanna share this extended theory. Again this is just a theory so bear with me
So I was looking up Schrade Kingdom lore for my au
And I came across a massive point
    Fatalis, THE Fatlis
    He never died
Not "yeah he comes back as possessed hunter" or "regrown through a single scale" rumors
I mean he legit never died. Even though we "kill him" in the games. He's still undefeated by lore. The previous games never mentioned Fatalis dying. Not even the MHW A-lister who has seen him before. Yes the A-Lister is old on the low key. The huntsman with the long sword was around when the first Fatalis popped up in the first online MH game
This guy said "what if those fatalis we killed are actually dopplegangers? Offspring? Clones?"
At first i was like nah because we dont know its sex. But then I realized something
In the lore it said two large sections of the kingdom was destroyed at the same time, where the source came from the center of the kingdom supposedly
From what we know, Dire Maralis cant be killed by lore because of what it is. Dalhamuder created the world by simply slithering
And white fatalis was so powerful that a legit god had to imprison it. But those are just myths and legends
Fatalis not dying by canon is fact
And that massive sword thats made with Fatalis scales makes me think
What if Fatalis has the ability to create smaller versions of itself to throw us off. Or what if those creatures we think are Fatalis was simply something else that took on its appearance? Like a elder dragons who copies other monsters for defense and offensive purposes?
Back to the main thing, Schrade is its nest right? And since a single scale can regrow into a Fatalis by rumor, what if it removes its tail purposely so it can create a weaker Fatalis that we kill? Making us think that its been defeated. But what its really doing is searching for the last remains of the Schrade Kingdom blood lines, the super soldiers we create, our hunters.
What if The Real Fatalis looks nothing like the ones we've fought so far? What if this beast of a monster is intangible?
If every single living thing is afraid of Fatalis regardless if its bigger than it or not, what caused it to become so powerful? Its not an elder dragon. Nor is it a biologically accurate creature of the world. It has no relative species like normal elder dragons.
If this force came from the center of the kingdom, could Fatalis be the real Equal Dragon Weapon?
Could what we've been told be lies to cover up the fact that Fatalis, the original Fatalis, the true Fatalis was the product of Schrade scholars playing god? Creating a weapon to fight off the other monsters that they had no control over?
Could Dire Moralis and Alatreon be similar products of Schrade? Are there more black dragons that Fatalis freed and and assisted in the destruction of the Schrade Region? More importantly, if Fatalis was a man-made dragon, what power or bioenergy was used to birth such an unholy beast?
