The difference between Paige and Sheldon is their parents relationships. Divorce hurts kids. Some survive, but some suffer much.

I always figured her and Sheldon went their own way, Sheldon moved to California and Paige moved to another part of the country or even abroad. Big Sheldon probably didn't talk about her because she was more Missy's friend plus she was smarter than him and was always showing him up, big Sheldon wouldn't want to talk about someone who is smarter than he is.

Paige really dominated whatever scene she was in. She's incredibly charismatic. She needed to be a main character, but that was never in the cards. McKenna was way too busy with other projects that paid more $$. She was just too big for that show.

There are still three ways we could get closure for Paige.
    1. She makes one final appearance in Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage.
    2. The Big Bang Theory gets revived within the next ten to fifteen years, and an adult Paige reappears in Sheldon's life.
    3. If there really is a spinoff planned for Max, an adult Paige becomes one of the main characters.

@DTD110865 The writers confirmed that characters from Young Sheldon will appear on and off. I predict in the case of Missy that we're talking about either a recurr appearance like Barry Kripke and Bert on The Big Bang Theory or occasional guest star like Laurie Metcalf as an older version of Sheldon's mother. After all, Georgie specifically stated in the second to last episode of season eleven of The Big Bang Theory that he had to look after both Mary and Missy as they were a mess and a dumb teenager respectively. They can't just leave that out of the storyline.

I was so interested in her character because her, her story and her personality mirrors that of a childhood crush I had. I was friends with her since fith grade and always had feelings for her but never acted on them, she was always the good kid but around sophomore/junior year of highschool her parents split up and long story short she started turning into the bad girl, hanging with the bad crowd and I just really couldn't stay friends with the person she was becoming so I slowly just stopped talking with/hanging out with her. She eventually dropped out of highschool which was where I mainly talked to her and I just sort of never heard from her again and never really got "closure" on her life story. Keep in mind this was 2003-2006 so Instagram, Snapchat and all that didn't really exist. We had myspace and early Facebook but it wasn't as easy to stay in touch as it is today. very similar story as paige and how we didn't get closure on her life story. It actually was sad to watch the scenes where she was at parties making horrible decisions and throwing her talents away just for a cheap thrill because I saw my childhood friend in McKennas acting.

Brenda Sparks, Pastor Jeff and Pastor Rob, Georgie's wife Mandy and daughter CC, Connie's boyfriend Dale. All of them were in more episodes and played a bigger role in Sheldon's life yet never got mentioned on TBBT either. She really wasn't all the important in Sheldon's overall life as these other people were. Billy Sparks only got mentioned on TBBT because according to Sheldon, Billy was incredibly cruel to Sheldon and relentlessly bullied Sheldon.

Page and Missy were two of a kind. Both lacked good judgement and self discipline. That led them into significant fixes in Young Sheldon, such as stealing a car, running away from home and being arrested by the police. We know those character flaws led to harm when Missy was an adult, and we can expect that they led Page into similar varieties of problems.
Meanwhile "Old Man" Sheldon did cultivate self discipline and good judgement which led him from success to success in life.
Perhaps an example of that was rejecting Nowitzki's romantic ambush of Sheldon, which led him directly to propose marriage to Amy.
    Character counts, even for geniuses.

    • @lanetower3411

Not always, I agree. For example, there was the time he sassed a judge and was tossed into jail.
But generally, he was the "old man" Missy accused him of being, which was Sheldon displaying good judgement and self discipline, I suggest.
If not, what did Sheldon being an "old man" mean?

    • @SeattlePioneer
      @SeattlePioneer Před 20 dny +1

Despite being Sheldon's intellectual superior, Page's lack of good judgement and self discipline led her to damage her life in serious ways.
Running away from home, inducing Missy to travel to Florida in her parent's car, getting picked up by the police, engaging in risky behaviors with strange men, quitting college for no real reason---- all these things indicate a troubled and out of control personality, in my view.
By contrast, while Sheldon certainly had his peculiarities, he soldiered on in his family and school lives in pretty satisfactory ways. He went on to a successful marriage and a Nobel Prize.
Character counts, even for geniuses, apparently. Sheldon had good character by and large, while Page's character led her to troubles and disasters.
Of course, you are entitled to your own views on such things. I thank you for giving me the opportunity to review and reflect upon mine.

She became rather rebellious and poorly behaved following her parents' divorce so she may have ran away and never spoke to the Coopers again. 2. Mary and George forbade Missy from hanging out with Paige in Season 6 after Missy stole George's truck along with Paige, so the two may have lost contact thus making Sheldon and Missy not have any further affiliation with her.

Yeah. I was really hoping to see Paige again but it wasn't to be.
I actually had no idea she had a career outside YS - boy was I surprised.
As to Paige making an appearance on the GMB (Georgie/Mandy/Baby) spin off - that would depend on how many of the original YS characters make the move.
They could have everyone but George (who is dead) and Sheldon (who is at Cal Tech) on the new show.
IF Missy has a role on the New Show - THEN - she might be a reason for Paige to make an appearance. So that could happen.
The problem there - is that GMB is not going to be the nerd fest YS was - which was why I (a nerd) was watching. I have absolutely no interest what so ever in watching stories about Georgie, Mandy and The Baby.
    We'll just have to see.
