    I recommend listening to the entire OK Computer album as a whole. I know it's a lot, but it's considered to be one of the greatest albums of all time by many.

      The one right after it, Kid A, was a complete left turn; they mostly ditched the guitars and went electronic. It's also considered a masterpiece by many.

    The best, most inventive band of the last 40 yrs. Any track from the In Rainbows - From The Basement live session will blow you away. The version of this song performed on the Jools Holland show is way better than this one btw.

      I'm biased (I was at this, somewhat near-ish the front and facing Jonny Greenwood) but I think this is better - the Jools holland might be technically better, but there is an energy, and perhaps a slight rawness, in this one that I find missing from the Jools holland one and for me that makes a real difference. I loved Later with Jools holland and it introduced me to so much music growing up and there are some fantastic performances on there, but with radiohead, technically brilliant perhaps but something was missing. I feel the same for The Basement ones. Better under the lights with the energy of a crowd.....
      I just re-watched jools Holland and yes, its a great performance. Not sure it's better than this one (they playing of the song might be, but I think the overall glasto performance is better), But I can totally see why people go to it.

    Radiohead - intelligent rock that became more and more abstract (and electronic) over the years. It's depressive at times - but highly recommended. Unlike many radiohead fans, I somehow prefer the albums surrounding 'Ok Computer' considerably more ('The Bends' and 'Kid A'), but my blah blah aside, this one is a defining moment for 90s alt-rock. Some critics even considered the album modern progressive-rock (and apparently Nathan got the same impression 😉).

    • @jerradbenedict3222
      @jerradbenedict3222 Před rokem +1

      Agreed on Kid A and The Bends; better total albums than Ok Computer , though this maybe be the best individual song on all three albums.

  • @PhilMyu
    @PhilMyu Před 2 lety +12

    You definitely have to dive into more from „Creep. :D
    This is considered the „Bohemian Rhapsody“ of the 90s. Radiohead is super inventive and had massive influence on other bands (such as Muse, Coldplay and many more).
    In Rainbows from the basement is fantastic, but so it „How To Disappear Completely“ or „Everything In It’s Right Place“ from Kid A as well as the whole OK Computer album.
