  • How does Angel Hernandez have a job? Angel Hernandez horrific night behind the plate proves that he is still the worst umpire in all of major league baseball. The Texas Rangers and Wyatt Langford found out first hand how absolutely terrible Angel Hernandez is. Why can't they just fire Angel Hernandez? I will tell you why in this video. Tell us why you think he is the worst MLB umpire.

You're really pointing out a much bigger problem - Union autonomy.
Each Union is similar in that many speak as one. The problem becomes the turd in the proverbial punchbowl - Hernandez. Every member loses integrity because we stand together.

@@markcinco8405 i agree.. they need to realize the extreme from both viewpoints isnt what is going to happen. At the same time, if someone cant do the job, they cant do the job. The union needs to realize that the game itself, the produce, is being hurt by keeping him around.

I don't think Angel Hernandez understands what the strike zone is. He seems to believe that the zone is where the catcher places himself instead of where the plate is.

Angel is bad, no question about it, but league-wide there is an inconsistent strike zone from most every umpire, new and old. I was watching Phil Cuzzi one game and his strike was nearly as bad as a typical Angel Hernandez game. I figured it might be a one game occurrence but the next game I saw him behind the plate it was just as bad with strikes being called on obvious balls and more than once a pitch sitting well in the strike zone being called a ball. It is pretty obvious the umps no longer care about their craft because their job security is forever. You can’t challenge them and they are protected on high.

I am not an angel Hernandez fan. That being said, look at the umpires and where they set up to call the pitches. I wonder if they're setting up too far inside. It looked to me that he's unable to properly see the outside corner, making it appear further out than it already is. As for too high or low, well, he's an idiot. What to do about him and others like him? Get both teams and owners to agree to forfeit any games he umpires in. Inform MLB that neither team will play if they are umpiring and why. Period. Inform the fans via public announcers at the ballpark. Show them videos of bad calls along with a HUGE stroke zone. Id be willing to say the fans will back the teams on this one. Just a thought.
