  • We made it to the mountains in northern India! This adventure started at 3:00 AM. Join us as we explore McLeod Ganj, a town next to the famous Dharamsala. This is the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh at the edge of the Himalayas. Our travel adventure goal was to explore the Himalayas in Nepal, Pakistan, and now India. McLeod Ganj is a beautiful mountain town, so different than anything we have experienced in India so far. It is a beautiful mix of Indian and Tibetan cultures. The exiled Tibetan government headquarters is located here. We’ll show you our hotel, take a walk through the town markets, and find lunch along the way. Before we call it a day, we visit the beautiful Kalachakra Temple, one of many Buddhist temples in this area.

    ABOUT US
We are the Bags Packed Family: Jonathan and Kelly with our three children. We sold our home in Alaska, USA, eight years ago, and headed overseas. We are teachers and found fantastic teaching positions in India. Two years later, we moved to the United Arab Emirates. Three years after that, during the beginning of the pandemic, we made the move to our current teaching jobs in Indonesia. We love traveling and finding adventures as a family. We hope that our travels will inspire and provide our children with the confidence to meet new people, try new foods, and enjoy learning a new language. We hope our vlogs will inspire you to get out and travel, too!

It’s nice to see you all in McLeod Ganj, Dharamsala.
    It’s called Little Tibet.
You can greet the Tibetans “ Tashi Delek” which means Hello in Tibetan.
May be you guys can visit TCV (Tibetan Childrens’ Village). It’s the school where I grew up from. It’s a Tibetan Boarding School founded since the early 1960’s when the Tibetans first came to exile India.

As an Indian, I only want to see three things in my life:
      1) Free and Independent Tibet for my Tibetan brothers living in India
      2) African countries de-colonising from still prevalent foreign rule.
      3) India rising again like it always was.

Forced everyone to stay in a big hall with infectious ppl!!!Many died with no food than died from covid. Many aged between 4-18 were forcefully taken to boarding school with their will. Many Tibetans from all walks of lives had self immolated against brutal Chinese occupation including well known Tibetan artist in front of potala place. The list goes on

Too good to be true but airport security in most major American airports is far more reaching out....so it's all good mate......
Wish you luck and do try amazing homemade Momo's there on hidden places and feel the tibetan values what they showcase and stand out for etc......it's huge.... Don't miss the ginger honey tea, some Italian foods and amazing brekky you get there

It is mandatory for all passengers to check-in online 48 hours to 60 min before flight departure. Only it seems he did not bother to do that.
Then he didn't way to pay the Rs.200 for getting the boarding pass printed. Who does that ?
Then his wife claims that the Spice jet boarding pass is issued in some 'govt. site" ? I mean WTF !! You have to log into SpiceJet site to get an online boarding pass.
Also security is extra strict around electronic equipment's. Not soaps and shampoos.
Finally obviously all kids have to go through security. What is a terrorist smuggles a bomb in some baby's diapers ? You think a terrorist cares about such things ? Security protocols exist for a good reason. Especially in airports.

Outside most airports there are automatic boarding pass printing machines, just scan your eTicket and it will print out your boarding pass for free. If you ask the airline counter to print it for you, they charge ₹200. Also, it is best to get indian SIMs while in india, they are for free, just go to any Airtel customer care center. It makes a lot of things easy like booking tickets and stuff. Also 30 countries now accept UPI, so ask you bank if they have UPI. Oh, and they (Tibetans) say _Tashi delek_ for Hello.

Yup in India plane traveling is stressful .
Little tip, just came back from India trip.
Through security check in, you need to take out all the metal and battery thing out in the tray.
Also day before you travel, you need to web check in and get boarding pass via online and you can show them that, is acceptable.
    Enjoy!

I used to take clear zip lock and put all the electric and battery and metal thing in that zip lock so it’s visible and not messy afterward.
