- We made it to the mountains in northern India! This adventure started at 3:00 AM. Join us as we explore McLeod Ganj, a town next to the famous Dharamsala. This is the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh at the edge of the Himalayas. Our travel adventure goal was to explore the Himalayas in Nepal, Pakistan, and now India. McLeod Ganj is a beautiful mountain town, so different than anything we have experienced in India so far. It is a beautiful mix of Indian and Tibetan cultures. The exiled Tibetan government headquarters is located here. We’ll show you our hotel, take a walk through the town markets, and find lunch along the way. Before we call it a day, we visit the beautiful Kalachakra Temple, one of many Buddhist temples in this area.

ABOUT US
We are the Bags Packed Family: Jonathan and Kelly with our three children. We sold our home in Alaska, USA, eight years ago, and headed overseas. We are teachers and found fantastic teaching positions in India. Two years later, we moved to the United Arab Emirates. Three years after that, during the beginning of the pandemic, we made the move to our current teaching jobs in Indonesia. We love traveling and finding adventures as a family. We hope that our travels will inspire and provide our children with the confidence to meet new people, try new foods, and enjoy learning a new language. We hope our vlogs will inspire you to get out and travel, too!

Hii
I wanted to explore India with you if you want to collaborate with me then just reply me 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
You're in Dharamsala. Pronounced Dhar- rum-sala. McLeod is pronounced McCloud. Like Duncan McCloud from the Highlander movie. Hope this helps. Best wishes from Portland, Oregon. Hope the rest of your journey runs smoothly.
"tashi delek" is one way you can greet instead of "namaste"
Never travel with spicejet they are not good
Happy diwali to all Indian and Nepali brothers from Bali👍🥳
Happy! Diwali from India to Bali, Om Swasti Astu.
It’s nice to see you all in McLeod Ganj, Dharamsala.
It’s called Little Tibet.
You can greet the Tibetans “ Tashi Delek” which means Hello in Tibetan.
May be you guys can visit TCV (Tibetan Childrens’ Village). It’s the school where I grew up from. It’s a Tibetan Boarding School founded since the early 1960’s when the Tibetans first came to exile India.
As an Indian, I only want to see three things in my life:
1) Free and Independent Tibet for my Tibetan brothers living in India
2) African countries de-colonising from still prevalent foreign rule.
3) India rising again like it always was.
@@DM-zb8hw Tibet is already free
@@traveltheworld9887 you are absolutely right. I recently saw a brutal lockdown in Lhasa. Forced everyone to stay in a big hall with infectious ppl!!!Many died with no food than died from covid. Many aged between 4-18 were forcefully taken to boarding school with their will. Many Tibetans from all walks of lives had self immolated against brutal Chinese occupation including well known Tibetan artist in front of potala place. The list goes on
@@traveltheworld9887 just like the North Koreans
If you get time, try to visit His Holiness The Dalai Lama's temple, Central Tibetan Administration, which is the seat of the Tibetan Government-in-exile, Tibet Museum, and Tibetan Children's village. Enjoy your stay in Dharamsala, the second home of His Holiness the Dalai lama!
It doesn't feel like india because western media never showed you india...busy roads of Delhi and slums of Mumbai are just a tiny part of India
Hey bags packed family, you must go to Manali ( Himachal) 🇮🇳🇮🇳
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
If you happen to be in India till December, try heading to Hornbill festival in Nagaland, Northeast India. Or to Shillong Cherry blossom festival in November in Shillong. It should be a good change overall from the quintessential image of India.
Wonderful vlog. Welcome to Dharamsala… 🙏
Thank you so much 🙂
eveybody in india says "namaste" ...... and the buddhists will definitely say namaste bcoz buddhism came from sanatan dharma ( hinduism) . Gautama Buddha himself was a hindu before he invented buddhism 🙏
I'm American 🇺🇸 but I love ❤️ indian culture 🕉 jai shri Ram 🕉 Happy Diwali ❤️ I was in delhi few months ago
Thnks nd lots of love from india ❤️
You Are A American But Keep On Writing Jai Shri Ram. Wonder Why🤔🤔
As a Hindu Brahman ....... Keep Coming Across Jai Shri Ram from You
Now I Understand Why . Oh You Are A Thakur .
By The Way Thakur's / Rajput's Are Not The Highest Caste.
Its We Hindu Brahman's Who Belong From The Highest HINDU Caste.
As A Hindu Brahmin I Too Love my Indian Culture
Jai Siya Ram. Jai Ma Durga

I.....liked your content.
Yo got a new sub bud!! 😁✌
Lovely Dears.. Great...
Love your vlogs.....great pic resolution & well done on the subs too.....As tedious and unpleasant it may sound about airlines and airport security measures, which can kinda put sour taste in the travel thoroughfare,I would say it's still easier to seek an answer or rather request the authorities here in Delhi compared to America.....
Too good to be true but airport security in most major American airports is far more reaching out....so it's all good mate......
Wish you luck and do try amazing homemade Momo's there on hidden places and feel the tibetan values what they showcase and stand out for etc......it's huge.... Don't miss the ginger honey tea, some Italian foods and amazing brekky you get there
It is mandatory for all passengers to check-in online 48 hours to 60 min before flight departure. Only it seems he did not bother to do that.
Then he didn't way to pay the Rs.200 for getting the boarding pass printed. Who does that ?
Then his wife claims that the Spice jet boarding pass is issued in some 'govt. site" ? I mean WTF !! You have to log into SpiceJet site to get an online boarding pass.
Also security is extra strict around electronic equipment's. Not soaps and shampoos.
Finally obviously all kids have to go through security. What is a terrorist smuggles a bomb in some baby's diapers ? You think a terrorist cares about such things ? Security protocols exist for a good reason. Especially in airports.
There are 4-5 "Main Roads" in Mcleodganj. Once you know your way around, it's a nice couple of days. It is pronounced as if it was McCloud ganj.
Your kids are amazing 🤩

Love all your videos ❤
Great video
Outside most airports there are automatic boarding pass printing machines, just scan your eTicket and it will print out your boarding pass for free. If you ask the airline counter to print it for you, they charge ₹200. Also, it is best to get indian SIMs while in india, they are for free, just go to any Airtel customer care center. It makes a lot of things easy like booking tickets and stuff. Also 30 countries now accept UPI, so ask you bank if they have UPI. Oh, and they (Tibetans) say _Tashi delek_ for Hello.
Happy Deepawali to your whole family
Welcome to daramshala the exile resident to his holiness dalailama and exile seat of Tibetan govt in exile

have been following u since nepal videos, I was wondering how you are managing with kids' schooling ....
Thank you for the support! They attend a small private school in Indonesia. :-)
@@BagsPackedFamily thank u sir....
Yup in India plane traveling is stressful .
Little tip, just came back from India trip.
Through security check in, you need to take out all the metal and battery thing out in the tray.
Also day before you travel, you need to web check in and get boarding pass via online and you can show them that, is acceptable.
Enjoy!
I used to take clear zip lock and put all the electric and battery and metal thing in that zip lock so it’s visible and not messy afterward.
Bon voyage ! Bonjour tout le monde.
Nice Vlog Brother
Gud to see u back in india sir👌👌👌❤❤❤
