This is a quick update on my Ms. Pac-man restoration. I started shooting part 2 and came into a couple of road blocks. So I’m currently waiting for parts to arrive. Instead of delaying today’s video I figured I’d update you guys with what’s happening.
Stay tuned for this multi-part restoration series where we get rid of the wave in the the monitor with a cap kit, change out the fuse blocks to eliminate the audio hum, convert the included Pac-man PCB to the proper Ms. Pac-man PCB and eventually install a 96 in 1 add on kit for the ultimate Pac-man experience. This will prep it for the complete artwork transformation into the Proto-type replica masterpiece.

Most of Bobs kits now are pretty old (I have a drawer full) and have been on the shelf for a long time. Best to swap it out with a higher quality cap kit now rather than later.

Replacing the fuse block and the edge connector will solve most issues with Pacman or Ms. Pacman issues.

what causes the humming noise in the machines some have it and some don't

Usually it's a grounding issue that causes interference. It varies in degree by manufacturer. Midway is notorious for this and is typically minimized by replacing the fuse block.
