Wow, Blackie, this is a definite blast from the past! This came up in my feed today. It's good to know even 13 years ago, you were putting out good videos. Take care, and God bless.

I just recieved my Haversack from the Pathfinder school, and using your method to use it as a backpack just about works. I wish the strap was just a few inches longer, but it is still a usable idea.

@alabama2220..not long..if you use walnuts hulls cold say 2 days..if hot a hour..if you use rit dye..add salt to the hot liquid..and let it soak for 10 min then rinse in cold water to set the dye..safe journeys and thanks for all the comments

Wearing it as a backpack, I would have never thought of that. Thanks for the info. I find myself carrying two small bags and a canteen, that's three straps, which looks silly. But using one in the backpack style, the bag I don't need immediate access to, it is a more comfortable carry.

Great video and some good tips. I carry an old Army map case on most trips, Your mods will let me change up the strap system on it for more comfortable carry.

I make the strap plenty long, then tie a knot in it when I need it shorter.
