Late Night with Seth Meyers

Whenever I make a joke that doesn't go over well these days I just say "Scollins write that one". Of course nobody knows what the hell I'm talking about.
I obviously don’t know you but I feel like I do because if I heard that I would burst out laughing and instantly ask to be friends. Can I start using that line?? 😂 Incidentally I refer to my four children as jackals, but my daughters love Seth too so they think it’s funny despite the odd looks from strangers at the grocery store.
I want to be part of your friend group!
Which is another joke that doesn’t go over well.
oh but WE do!
may i be your friend?
God. Imagine writing a joke that was so bad, that it got cut from the segment where they shame the rejected jokes, and the writers who wrote them. That's a whole new level of bad.
Something to aspire to, if you think about it 🤔
I can do that
Good ol' Scollins!
I'm looking forward to to that video
The Louisiana joke took the prize for worst joke, imo.
So, the writers are totally in a competition to see who can get their jokes into this segment and nobody has told Seth, right?
"Bayou something" was pure gold. I will die on this hill.
total ''dad joke'' works for me!
You'd enjoy Jeff Foxworthy.
I got a chuckle from the audible groan from the audience. That's exactly how you expect the best dad jokes to land
I came here to say this.
Took me a minute to get it. First I thought it was referencing the Louisiana Purchase 😅
As a Brit I’d like to say “endangered bald regal” was excellent. Thank you, Scollins 👏🏼😂
Don’t encourage him…🤣

This is quickly becoming 5 minutes of "Scollins sucks and I need to vent," and I am here for it
hay that last one got a good chuckal out of me.
@@squirrel8185 *chuckle
@@Raison_d-etre i am sure you are corect. i am dyslexic so i get stof wrong some times. but that one i knew was wrong as i was typing it. just couldent figure it out.
@@squirrel8185nah that’s how you spell it when it’s a jackal who does the chuckle 😂
"You cannoli have so much."
Sorry, but that's an awesome pun.
On the other hand, "He's an endangered bald regal" is evidence of a very troubled mind.
Oh, crap! I didn't even catch that one (distracted by the graphic), until I read your comment!
😂😂😂😂😂
Yes the bald regal effort was bad. If I had a choice of that joke again, or a burn off of the side of a steel kettle, I'd have to think about it.
As an American residing in London, I thoroughly enjoyed the bald regal joke!
@@shanam6098 As an American who formerly resided in London, I'm with you.
When Seth puts the writer’s picture up and says “Ian wrote that, here’s a picture of Ian” I feel like he’s a mom trying to get people to date her kids. “Here’s a picture of my son and some very very funny little jokes he writes at his job as a professional joke writer hehe” 10/10
That sardine joke legitimately made me have to cover my mouth to contain my donkey braying like laughter next to my sleeping wife
come man! endangered bold regal was brilliant!
I laughed too.
But I think it's bald. I mean, is William ever bold?! Smiles
@@BMrider75 You see old regals and bold regals but you never see old bold regals.
Perhaps Seth misspoke and said bold when he meant bald.
@@christinegarrett7257 using bold instead of bald is part of the joke.(
Bald though, as in NO HAIR, it’s called “Bald Eagle”...
Seth roasting his writers is a thing of beauty. 😂
it's the holidays Seth how DARE you rip a Scollins joke from our hands
RIGHT!!!
OK ... we know it was a Scollins joke ... too terrible for youtube ... about michael jackson. Someone NEEDS to tell us what is was, like right now
@@brianjackson598 the world hangs on tenterhooks
I think you mean our paws.
Seth's show is the best late night show tbh.
Idk Stephen Colbert pretty’ good
James Corden
Agreed! And he's grown on me more and more over the years. He's my number one in my top three!
Well. Obviously. Anyone who disagrees is wrong and bad.
As a jackal I feel so hurt that Seth has shared a joke with the audience that we, the online jackal audience, now don't get to hear. This is a fundamental breach of our jackal contract. WE get the secret stuff that the audience isn't in on, aka #Corrections. We did not authorise this honour being extended to those upstart, newcomer, audience members, at the expense of the #jackalpack. How very dare you Seth?!
PS Happy thanksgiving and congrats on the birth of baby Jackalyn
Fiona, you speak for all of us so come on, men, stand behind Fiona and prepare to die for our jackal rights. OK?....
OK?
You guys? ....
As a fellow jackal, I am contractually obligated to point out that the joke was written by Mike Scollins and about Michael Jackson so there is a decent chance that the joke was rejected by the censors. 😆
Thankfully (?), CZcams’s censor standards are lower, so maybe he’ll tell it to us in the next corrections!
#jackalpack rebellion it is!!!
I th8nk it is the least he can do is add it to corrections next time. Jackals have rights!!!
And a Scollins joke at that! 'Guess the Scollins Joke' is a very popular game in my house.
well now i need to know the scollins michael jackson joke. as jackals i feel we're owed it
I think a petition is in order. He can include it in the next Corrections.
#JacksonJokeNow #Jackals4Jackson
We need someone who was in the audience tell us the joke!
Agreed. Jackals unite! We need the Scollins joke now.
I know Matt won’t see this but that “Barnes and Ignoble” joke was STELLAR on every level. Never change my friend, never change.
As someone from the UK I'd like to say I liked the bald regal joke.
This is the best Thanksgiving surprise.
Right? Hate holiday weeks with nothing to look forward to because Seth is off. what a fun surprise that he showed up all week for us.
Surprise Inspection has definitely become my favourite segment 🤣
This segment shows you how difficult it is to write monolog jokes. ❤️seeing photos of the team being stupidly funny. It’s all PART OF THE PROCESS.
Did anyone else notice that Prince William’s photo almost looks like he’s a Conehead from SNL?
Seth, I need to know, are you actually ripped, or is that sweater just really flattering??? It was bugging me for your entire show tonight I know you read the comments, don't ignore me
Seth, if I don't hear you address this on Corrections, I'll settle for A Closer Look.
he's 47 years old and has, like, no body fat. he's fit.
It’s been 2 years now….just give up. Sorry.
The Barnes & Ignoble joke was high-level comedy and I appreciate that. It actually made me laugh, and that's rare for an emotionally-stunted man like me. If sense of humor were a tree, mine would be a bonsai - small, but mature.
I got spicy chips in my eye once doing that and now I just do it with my eyes closed.
Happy tanksgiving to Scollins
Here's an unusable joke: I like getting gifts of Cajun cuisine for Louisiana Day, but I live far away and unfortunately, the food is parishable
When he said nope...to doing it in the can..I laughed harder than I've laughed in a long time..
Logical next step: Corrections Surprise Inspection!!!
Naming the Jackals, dragging their filthy visages in front of the world's keen eyes !
That'll show them!
endangered bald regal by a nose over cannoli at the line with bayou running third.
I love the inspection segment.
😆😂🤣
Scollins…
The can joke was fucking brilliant
Seth is just mad because he ain’t getting any sardines
Seth, the fact that you cut some jokes from the segment of unusable jokes... you coward... and yes this is a correction
This is the most correct of all the corrections.
Likely censored by the network.
I see, so now the live audience gets to be in on a joke that we the jackals will never hear. Thanks, Meyers.
You just heard them??
Congrats Seth and Alexi Meyers on baby #3. Someone did update his Wikipedia page so it must be true?? Yay for a baby girl!! 💜💜💜
Happy Thanksgiving Seth & crew and everyone in the comments.
You, too!
The bayou joke was hilarious
My first correction! Sardines come in a tin, not a can. Though I guess this a correction for Scollins. Do those count?
(Thank you, Seth and team and the jackals. Corrections has gotten me through a hell of a year - cancer diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. I feel like I’ve had a crew of internet friends.)
That bald regal joke was AMAZING.
I definitely thought that Bayou-something was going to turn out to be a Karen joke, there's something kind of Karen-brand adorable about it 😁
Totally. I'm still laughing about "un oeuf"....
@@C2C. Which was good, but I think she stole it from "The West Wing".
another great addition to the show...letting us in even further so we can all be in on the "inside jokes". Best Show ever. Please don't ever not be here for me. :)
I can't tell whether they actually cut a joke or if Seth just pretended to to troll us
It reminded me of his Netflix stand-up where the viewer can skip the politics portion. Seth says something ridiculous after the skip, too, to through off those who skipped.
They actually cut a joke I was in the audience
@@TD-ng3bx can you remember it?
@@lkj234 I forget it was something about Michael Jackson that’s all i remember
I would've thought that for Thanksgiving Seth would have carved a 'jackal-lantern'
Ignoble..gawd. I groaned and groaned, and even held my forehead during the excruciating inspection of bad jokes.
Loved it.
This segment makes me realise that Seth Meyers is secretly basically J. Jonah Jameson except instead of pictures of Spiderman, he wants endless pages of jokes.
Barnes and ignoble! Hooray for Matt.🐦
They have a charitable third world outreach program called Books Without Borders.
Looking for Hoffa is absolutely no more absurd than waiting on JFK in Dallas.
I object, the bayou joke is *solid* word play!
Is anyone else watching this with bated breath waiting for a rejected joke as good as that mouse one? 🤣
"An endangered bald regal?" Seth, it's not about the joke, it's not even about the punchline.
It's all about the delivery. And you knocked that one right out of the sandbox. On the humor meter between Meh and Ha, you scored somewhere in the middle, with a solid Ha-M.
(Don't forget to tip your waitress folks, and remember, we'll be here all week.)
Thank you guys so much! I really needed this tonight
The delivery on that sardine joke was phenomenal.
Matt, ignoble was a cute pithy pun that summarised Manchin's character, "barnes" having the imagery of down home rural folksiness of barns, Manchin's hollow persona, underlined with the contrast of his venal greed which is the opposite of "noble" and should have made the cut. But what do I know? 😊
This is hilarious, but "I forgot to Bayou something" is a stellar pun
Oh Seth … this makes me laugh and cringe all at the same time 😂😬 but it’s amazing how much you made me laugh with bad jokes .. Happy Thanksgiving sir and thanks for the surprise 🦃🦃🦃🦃
When he said patently offensive, I just realized I haven't heard a jokes Seth can't tell segment in awhile.
Feel like I’m first and that red brick sweater is definitely really nice.
Same!
Agree
Is that a sweater though? It looks like a midlayer long-sleeved shirt
Is the Gap open today Danny?
Seth had already moved passed Thanksgiving when filming this and is now preparing for Christmas.
Just when you thought Seth couldn't be more generous with his staff, he gives his writers even more of his air time. 😊
This is my second fav segment, next to corrections.
I love this bit. Everyone at this show is just lovely and you can always tell that there is happiness at the office.
The chip joke made me laugh more than anything in recent memory
Ok so im a big comedy writer fan. So since i started watching seth meyers i try to guess who wrote each joke. This segment is right up my street. Love it.
Also scollins jokes are always recognisable. Him and karens. Coz karens are always adorable.
That was hilarious!! I loved the cannoli joke!! That should have made it in the show!!
Here to defend Matt's joke & hairstyle choices and to ask Seth: as a longtime Samberg bud you must realize that cut is Young Sandwich redux, yes?
Editing to add: ^said with love and affection. Any incidental snark is wholly induced by cranberry sauce overdose.
Some of those were pretty good.
The Louisiana Bayou one was OBJECTIVELY good 😤😤
Every.Single.Time.Seth.With.His.Sleeves.Game.On.Point. 👏👏👏❤
That sardine joke was excellent!
I love this colour on Seth
"To get that joke, we had to pay two salaries" is funny because it's true...
The Louisiana joke was good, the Ricotta joke was excellent!
That “nope” timing made the joke infinitely better
Ah yes, Scollins - the Master of Tumbleweed Moments.
The sardines-in-the-can joke is hilarious, how dare they cut this one out? :D
That Barnes and Ignoble joke was pretty solid. Not a classic, but solid.
A bit spineless. 😉
love this segment
I like the cannoli joke!
I need MORE of these!
I love seth but damn he needs to give some love to those scollins jokes lmaoo.
Such a clever segment!
Luved it! Also, loved it!
I need an Oops! All Scollins edition of this like Cap’n Crunch needed nothing but crunch berries.
I love how Seth relishes those segments :D
His sour lemon pout at the "microchip" pun is GOLD
I love this segment so much.
this is now my favorite segment on the show
This was great. Some of those (like cannoli) would’ve totally fit the tone of the jokes used in the actual shows, but hey, you only have so much time to work things in.
The sardines one made m suddenly and forcefully snort out of my nose in laughter and disturbed what are clearly two lovers having a sweet, semi cuddling coffee date in this more private-ish area of th cafe and I startled all three of us.
Savoring these little gems before they break for the week. Thanks for all the great content Seth Meyers and crew.
"Thats the haircut of a guy who isn't reading the room" is the sickest burn ever
The Louisiana joke was great 👍🏻
That's my favorite part of your show now. Amazing.
I love this segment so much
I loved that microchip joke! Puns are great!
"Maybe the wife will let you do it in the can". HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!! Oh my gosh these jokes are genius. Give every one of your writers a substantial raise. They're worth every penny.
Mwahaha... I was at the taping and that cut joke... Heh, yeah... *winces with cringe* Cheers!
Name and shame!
If you were really there, you'll share with the class 😉
Jackals must be fed!
Yeah, come on - dish!
"Cheers!"....you weren't really there, were you?
I'm going to go out on a limb and say the 'removed unusable joke' was pure jackal-bait. Judging from the comments, you done good, Seth.
"Maybe your wife will let you do it in the can!" That one killed me.
Today is Thanksgiving, National Louisiana Day, _and_ National Sardines Day, and nobody wrote a joke about that trifecta?
Hey Mr. Meyers. Thanks a lot for doing the Thanksgiving show. It means a lot. Your family is lovely. God bless.
I consider it a matter of pride when that dorky potato chip joke came out and I immediately said ... that's got to be Karen
Bust out giggling on ‘bayou something!’😆
An endangered bald regal?
Perfection *chef's kiss *
