How to do correlation for ordinal variables? | Kendall's tau correlation test

In this video, we discuss how to perform correlation analysis for ordinal variables, which have a natural order but unequal intervals between values. The two most commonly used methods are Spearman's Rho and Kendall's Tau. The choice between them depends on your dataset's characteristics, such as size and the presence of ties.
Spearman's Rho is often preferred for larger datasets and for measuring monotonic relationships. Kendall's Tau is more robust for smaller samples with many ties.
