Awesome. I recall the days as a teenager living in London in the late 60s and 70s. The sun always shone. Worked in advertising. The music was stunning. Beatles, Stones, Kinks, Who, Four Tops, Supremes and many more. And then Frankie who was different class. But the one thing you should notice is you haven't already, this was LIVE. Vocals Harmonies Instruments etc. Ok plus an orchestra. But you will not see live performances on TV today. Then most bands played live although some didn't because they could not replicate studio takes to live takes. That is what was so good back in the day.
This is still the best version ever. Always blows me away .

Totally agree. Their talent was that they could take a song that someone else had written and do it better than the originals… This is a great example of that.
I saw Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, at least a dozen times the first time at freedom land in New York when ragdoll came out. His disco stuff was even awesome.. but my favorite song will always be. I’ve got you under my skin. He made it a top 10 hit even though it was written for Frank Sinatra.. remember Frankie had 5 1/2 octave range so many hits you cannot even count them. Truly one of the greatest of all time..
Frankie Valli is one of the greatest vocalists of all time.
Timeless music. Bob Gaudio deserves a lot of credit as well.

What a performance by one of the great bands known as Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Such talent vocally and instrumentally by Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Joe Long and Bob Grim who left the band shortly after this performance. No one can say the Four Seasons did not stay current with the hair and fashion trends of the day, such a great look. To think that by this time Frankie Valli had already been on the road almost 20 years, a legend he is.
I saw you in concert in Des Moines about 4 years ago and saw you up close sing this. My son was in late 40's and I was in 70's. He told me " Mom, I've been to so many concerts of newer singers but this was best concert I've ever been to". He sang along with every song as he grew up with me having radio on all day and also playing your albums. He loves " Sherry" from 1960. He wasn't even born yet. Ha and I graduated that year.

Russell Thompkins jr lead singer of Stylistics says at 13 he heard and loved your voice. He said "I can do that"...he learned falsetto from your songs. He still sings today at 71 and tours with Russell Thompkins Jr and New Stylistics. He has sung with many greats as guest but he said he would really love to sing with you. He is also great. Fantastic, incredible I can go on and on. Frankie is the last of the originals everyone who passed through the 4 seasons left a mark on it. No one person can pull it off alone. A lot people are behind Frankie they are so often over looked. Mind blowing performance .

When you compare this to the 1966 version on Ed Sullivan that they did… Frankie can still do it and it is still awesome.
I appreciate this music and how it shaped the history of bands and singers! I've got them under my skin! I love my album of the Greatest Hits and look forward to finding more of their music in the record shops!
You are so right in stating how they shaped the history of band and singers. The Four Seasons are one of the first self contained Bands of the rock era who wrote the majority of their own material and played their own instruments, well before The Beach Boys and Beatles. The Four Seasons are the only band to have a number one ☝️ hit before, during and after the Beatles while scoring a total of over 60 songs on the Billboard chart.

The great early style Four Seasons from 1971 . They became a totally different band in 1975 .
By 1975, Frankie Valli (as a solo artist) was doing early disco (as evident in "Swearin' to God" on the "Closeup" album). With that (along with "My Eyes Adore You" hitting No. 1 on the Billboard charts), Frankie and Bob Gaudio recruited, during the MoWest years, what was in essence the seeds of a new Four Seasons group that would have temporarily have Frankie as lead vocals, but eventually, would see him move on to a completely solo career while still maintaining "the handshake" co-ownership of the name and rights (Four Seasons Partnership) along with Gaudio. The "Helicon" album was slated to be Valli's last album with the group, however that album tanked and with it, any chances of subsequent Four Seasons albums and singles with only Gerry Polci or Don Ciccone singing the leads.
Now that is what Cole Porter had in mind.

Tommy left in late 1970 or so. Lots of changes went through the group. Later on Bob left & more new members joined.

This looks like on of the last stage performances of Bob Gaudio (organ) who wrote just about all of their hits.
Bob Gaudio was a great song writer, but this was a 1936 song by Cole Porter, and nobody does it better than Frankie Valli
To be safe to say it was his last stage performance. Gaudio did stay on as a singer/songwriter in the MoWest studio, but by 1975 (with the lineup of Frankie Valli, Don Ciccone, John Paiva, Lee Shapiro, and Gerry Polci), Gaudio was strictly a songwriter/producer. Just like the late Nick Massi, Gaudio did not like being on stage or touring all over the place, thus the recording studio became his comfort zone.

I thought Mr Frankie Valli had a concert here in San Francisco at Cobbs Comedy Club and already bought our tickets on April 29,’22 but it was been canceled so they’re going to refund our money!
From what I am aware of through different sources, Frankie had a bout of pneumonia (not COVID-related) and is still recovering.
