- Hello everybody. Today I will be telling you how to make whistles in derail valley.
1. First figure how to install mods using Nexus Mods. Watch this video ( • How to install Derail ... )
2. Download a mod on Nexus mods called (Zeibach's Sounds)
3. Import the mod into the unity mod manger.
4. Go to Mods in the content manger.
5. Right click on (Zeibach's Sounds) and click open file.
6. Go to Sounds in the folder and choose a whistle you don't like (For Example you could choose the 'Hancock_3-Chime') Don't do anything just yet just keep this in mind.
7. Download a audio app called Audacity.
8. Find a video or clip and convert it to a Mp.3 Audio so you can make a whistle.
9. Import that audio into audacity and highlight part of the whistle. Make sure you select a part of whistle that last longer then 2 seconds and the pitch doesn't change.
10. Once your done with that export the selected audio as a OGG file.
11. Then go back into the unity mod manger and right click (Zeibach's Sounds) and go back into the file.
12. Click sounds and then copy the name exactly as it is. So you would copy this name Hancock_3-Chime. (without the period) After you copy the name change the name of the whistle by pasting it. Make sure to keep the .OGG in the name. After that delete that Hancock_3-Chime in the sounds file and replace with the new Hancock_3-Chime that you made. After that you can simply launch the game and you will have a new whistle! To add the whistle to the locmotive get your raido out and go to sounds and select whistles then select the Hancock_3-Chime. Make sure you do not update (Zeibach's Sounds) You want the 1.3.0 version. You can download that specific version by clicking this link. www.nexusmods.com/derailvalle...

Hey, so question. Everytime I try and make a whistle, it's so obvious everytime it loops, and yes, I did it for 2 seconds. Is there anyway to remove that? To make it sound more clean like yours?
You really have to experiment with the audio. Where did you find the audio at? If it's on CZcams what time stamp?

@@SeanJAnimations Unfortunately they doesn't seem like a great clip. You might have to find a different video and make a new audio.
@@cassscenicproductions8888 I actually found a way that's works well for me. If you get any length of audio, be it 1-4 seconds. Slap it in audacity, then copy the audio and reverse it, as long as the pitch and volume stays stable, it sounds the same, and I typically have it go for about 7 seconds, as I know I'll never blow the whistle over 4-5 seconds at a time, and you don't usually get that click that I was annoyed about, and if it is there, it's quiet enough that's it subdued by the locomotives chuffing sounds.

How did you change pitches really high of the whistle
It's just the audio. The audio has a low pitch and high pitch.
