My struggle in social media content is feeling like I either have time to make product or content. It’s hard to find the balance on that. Also, I live in a very full house and my studio space is in our den, so I have trouble getting the right moment where no one is talking or in my frame🤦🏻♀️

I just started setting up my ringlight and recording everything. My kids have learned that when the light is on, don't talk/tap/touch me. Sometimes I just leave the light on to catch a break 😂
Rather than measuring and taring out the mold each time, I put my mix/mix bowl on the scale instead. It makes for a faster production and over spill goes directly back in the bowl so less mess/waste. :)

I love that you talk about how parts of your business journey made you feel discouraged. That's REAL. So many people act like everyone should be able to be o top of the world if they put in enough effort. Sure, they might get more views "selling" fake success, but that just leads to other business owners feeling like they can never be good enough when they don't have that instant success.

I don’t do a great deal these days but back in the 90’s I was one of only a few doing goats milk soap. I did farmers market and craft fairs .. it took almost three years to educate? Inform? Teach..about benefits. It was so worth it !

I usually warm up the alcohol for just about 20 seconds in the microwave then I use a rolling pin to smack and roll the crystals. Then I add them to the warm alcohol. Give a stir every few minutes while I’m measuring everything else, they usually fully dissolve by the time I’m ready to add it.
Yes the warmer alcohol helps!
My shower steamers are rock hard, no water no cream of tartar. I do use a little sunflower oil as binder though. Otherwise, your recipe is probably very similar and similar environment, I'm on Vancouver Island. It is however extraordinarily dry in my house in the winter even with 80-100% humidity outside in winter!

I think your right about the press and not needing water. I bought a foaming soap recipe and it doesn’t have water and me hand packing isn’t doing the trick. I added a little water and it’s perfect.

Try Cada Molds recipe I use hers and its awesome. I use FO and essential oils. Never thought abt breaking up the crystals, should try that, and microwave how cool is that..I get the Walmart off brand seems to work better for BB. I agree with your thought on cheering others on! Such a great mind set. Each of us makers have different things to offer. I have met so many awesome makers too along the way. Each of us has something to share 😊 Do you have a tiktok shop?
If I know I’m making steamers I’ll melt the crystals in the essential oils the night before in a little glass mason jar.

I hand press my shower steamers (with no water in) and they hold well. I have had to buy a dehumidifier though -got sick of putting the trays of shower steamers in the airing cupboard to dry properly!! lol

Love your videos, and I noticed you mentioned a conference, but are there any classes for soap making in general that someone can do either online or in person to be better skilled in that area. I live in Illinois and have been trying to find a soap making class. And they're very hard to find, especially in person.
I know Ariane Arsenault does some online classes! I would recommend her :)

Do you think your BathBombs are harder with the press?last longer?
I have some bath bomb bears I made a few days ago with a 3D hand press that are pretty rock hard, so no, not necessarily but they do help.
An actual hand press like the ones with an arm you pull down? Or you hand pressing them? I have been looking for a good hand press that isn’t hundreds of dollars. I thought it might be good for the 3d molds and save my hands.
