i would have loved if age of calamity had a free roam mode so that you could explore the levels on your own without having to worry about enemies/time limits
It's kind of scary, seeing such an amazing, huge town just destroyed in a matter of MINUTES. It really puts into perspective how terrifying the Calamity's power really is
It was a horrible genocide of Hylian people.
My thoughts exact. Just thinking about what Hyrule in general used to be like vs what the Calamity made it become is amazing and quite scary.
True
I'm just going to be honest here: I actually teared up a bit when I first entered Castle Town in the All Hyrule, United mission. Creating a Champion made the pre-Calamity Castle Town look so big and spectacular, but by the time we actually got to explore it, it was already destroyed, burned down and covered in Malice.
it also doesn’t help that it just simply isn’t the same castle town from botw. botw was a proper city and was much larger and grander and if u compare castle town in the AoC screenshots to botw 2 cutscenes of castle town then u can see they are a completely different town
It would be soo great to explore it in an open world like botw🥺
.theres a mod that allows you to see castle town in its prime in botw
@@isacho33 do you know what emulator and the name of the mod/where i can download it?
@@nuesschen4525 sorry, i dont, try looking it up0
yes
@@nuesschen4525 cemu
I was sooo happy to see Castle Town in Age of Calamity. But you're right, it was a missed opportunity that they haven't done a hubworld. I hope that they show us a rebuild Castle Town in Botw2 or eventually a DLC in Age of Calamity. It is such a beautiful place!!
It was an incredibly wasted opportunity, unless we get castle town in Breath of the Wild 2 which I doubt.
@@commonwealthrealm I agree
For those that don't know, the castle town in Age of Calamity is modeled off of masterworks depiction, while the ruins in botw are that of the customers in the original game. The guard tower in castle town are in different locations in the two games which shows this.
*cutscenes*
Castle Town would have been such a dream to explore.

1 Month after the Launch of Age of Calamity! So when do you think we will see a bigger Hyrule Castle Town than in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity? Breath of the Wild's Sequel or a Zelda Game after 2024?
I don't get my hopes up to see it in BotW2. Appereantly the second game will focus on risen islands and locations.
Something neat I’d like to see in BOTW’s sequel is more Tarrey Town-like side quests. With the help of Bolson and Hudson go around to different parts of Hyrule and help rebuild them. Including Castle Town. Of course I’ll enjoy the game either way. 👍
@@theteacher3160 hell yeah that could actually work
@@FieryRed_BE Unless BoTW 2 will go off of AoC. Just a thought.
I think AOC is what BOTW2 was going to be and they scrapped what we saw in the reveal which the next reveal is going to be nothing like it at all! That way they can make it optimized for the Switch 2/Pro whatever the hell they call it!
Here’s hoping for DLC featuring a rebuilt Hyrule Castle and Castle Town.
And perhaps an option just to explore the maps without enemies or that horrid blood moon lighting. I’d really love to see Hyrule Castle town densely populated too!
That might be BotW 2 DLC 😭😭😭😭
As AoC DLC i would love to see the original BotW prequel, as in without Terrako
Imagine if a BotW2 DLC featured an epilogue with Terrako summoning Link and Zelda to Age of Calamity’s timeline and we get to traditionally explore the world of the past. (Well, an alternate past version of Hyrule.)
@@chrispork1443 or maybe instead of After Ending DLC, it could be at the beginning, thatll explain why the new 4 champions arent around
Hopefully we can see castle town again next year with BotW2
Probably won’t be fully rebuilt
@@jinx1987 Yeah, it'll probably be in the middle of being built, or if BoTW 2 will go off of AoC, then we'll most likely see Castle Town.
@@elli_elli772 I highly doubt Botw 2 will go off of AoC if it's specifically a direct sequel to botw like we've been told. Bc AoC and botw don't take place in the same world. Anyway, I generally don't think Castle Town will have been fixed much at all. Probably significantly less malice lying around, but otherwise, especially with the castle rising off of the ground in the trailer, I doubt the place will be in better condition
@@animelover-vj6qy I think BOTW 2 will either be a new game with new lands OR it will be some kind of time travel game (Ocarina?) going between the future and past to fix things maybe even go the 12 Monkeys route of messed up history with one big twist in the end.
@@animelover-vj6qy In fact this would be the best way to have them get away with reusing the same map as you will go see changes you caused trying to 'fix' things without realizing what your doing.
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
Glad I could deliver :)
Back after finally finishing AoC. It was a pain waiting so long before watching your comparison videos, but I really wanted to take everything in for myself! Sorry it made your views dip as it seems I wasn't alone in this line of thought, but I hope you understand. Thanks again for the videos!
I love that @Commonwealth Realm does these videos cuz during the games I don't explore even if I want to because I want to get the mission done lol
Yeah did the same the first time, but it is exactly for reasons like this that I replay stages ;)
I am really enjoying these comparisons! Thank you for taking the time to make them.
It’d be great to see it complete without a red filter over everything 😂
Ikr
Love this. Please do as many of these location comparisons as you can
Thank you for making these videos. I enjoy them alot
Good to see your making a return to the content i know and love your for
I’m sorry for not watching your videos, I have been trying to finish AoC but have been too busy. Thank you for all you do and Merry Christmas!!
Really appreciate your videos!!
So cool. The compression of the BotW for HW:AoC map bothers me, but is totally understandable.
Only a few more days and I can enjoy and then watch all your videos :)
I hope that over the course of Botw2 we can rebuild Hyrule so that we can see how castle town looks.
"Late Gate of Age of Calamity Spoilers"
That town you were in at 4:08, I was there a few months ago, I forgot the name of the town though.
Wow Castle Town had an aqueduct? I so badly want a pre-calamity prequel BoTW to see all the various structures in the their prime, like the Great Hylia Bridge and Akkala Citadel. The world building in BoTW is tantalizingly good.
is it just me or is the watch tower near the central square in different places?
like in age of calamity it is right on the west side of the square but in breath of the wild through cutscenes it looks to be in a southwest street further away from the square
When I played BOTW I was so disappointed that they never fixed up castle town. I was really hoping they'd at least make it into a DLC. I wanna explore it! 🥺
I think Botw 2 will have more crafting mechanics which means more shops which hopefully means larger settlements
We will need more woodcuttets axe and iron sledgehammers im the sequel.
Or just ... Sheikah bomb everything
I can't wait for Boundary Break to do this game.
I can’t wait to get the game
What's the name of the background music?
I really enjoyed age of calamity, all things looked the same to me just smaller and more compact
Cool
I would love to see the original BotW timeline prequel as DLC, as in without Terrako
Since we talking about Castle Town, if done as DLC, this portion of the story must be played with King
I rlly wish that was the case, bc I had originally hoped and was put under the impression that this was gonna be a direct prequel, but I highly doubt a dlc version without Terrako would happen. They'd have to scrap half of the story from Age of Calamity and replace it all with the events that occurred pre-calamity in Botw. And that would take a lot of work on their part.
@@animelover-vj6qy true....but a lot of that story can be told thru loading screen 🤣🤣🤣 and just make like 5 chapters, 3 for the new characters, 1 for King and another one for Zelda
Amazin look Thais afther and and lather!!!!
This was fun to see the difference between the two times even though I knew stay safe commonwealth realm
Can some one explain me the difference between these two games, they look so alike but yet so different
The Castle Town Is Coverd In Ganon's Malice
Alas the closer we'll ever see of a precalamity botw castle town ingame will be twilight princess' castletown.
Didn’t we got to enter the temple of time? To save a bunch of soldier in AoC
What's the music's name playing on background?
I can't remember but I believe it's just in the stage for Age of calamity
He keeps saying 'smaller in AOC' but he knows nothing about focal length of camera of the two games.
It’s not very believable that it’s the same castle town since botw doesn’t even have the foundations of buildings left
Hm...that is true. In Botw, you can tell how severe the damage from the Calamity was bc there was basically nothing left of castle town. Here, the only real difference in Calamity-Castle town should be the fact that all the citizens were evacuated. So it's odd that the place isn't completely destroyed. But mb in AoC everyone who was fighting got there before all the real damage could be done?
@@animelover-vj6qy 🤷♂️
@@animelover-vj6qy I think that since in the botw timeline there were people there, the guardians went and hunted down each and every single person which in turn caused more collateral damage to the surrounding environment. However in AoC, since everyone is evacuated, the guardians don't have too much to aim at. I may be reaching with all this, but this is my head canon right now.
Notification squad, where y'all at?
“100 years prior to the Legend of Zelda : Breath Of The Wild”
I love botw but I kinda miss the old Zelda games. The‘re so nostalgic and different. There are dungeons and other things.
I like the opan wolrd but I would aslo like to see the old school dungeons make a come back and have it be like a opan wolrd like dungeon
I also hope we get back tje old feel that that Zelda muisc used to have
And aslo make pink look less feminine
Yea they should give us a free dlc with botw fully restored so we can explore it
It would be really nice for an update after defeating ganon, you can see hudson and other gorons trying to break the rubble and other workers to repair castle town, shadow hamlet, exchange ruins, etc.but the price is wood.lots and lots of wood😥 Are you writing this down nintendo!!?😠
Love botw!
Damn I’m early asf .
Dour pfp is sooooo cooooool
I think BOTW2 WAS originally going to be what Age of Calamity is now but instead they handed the ideas over and decided to do something else instead for the new Switch Pro or 2 or whatever their next machine is to make their baby be the best one born!
CZcams unsubscribed me wtf
ITS NOT CASTLE TOWN ON THE PLAEAU FFS
a 4 minute preface DUDE! get on with it already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's so bad that Age of Calamity is a better game and looks way better than Breath of the Wild, to be honest
I personally disagree with it being better. It *looks* better, but the story had a bit too many clichés for my liking, and the fact that u can't explore open world (which makes sense bc it's a warriors game) made things feel a lot more limited. I suppose it's up to personal preference whether u think this is actually better than Botw. Although they are obviously not the same type of game, so that makes it hard to compare them in any way other than story and world building. I also don't like how they changed the character relationships and dynamics. Link and Zelda, and Link and Revali's relationships in AoC rlly fell flat compared to Botw. Characterization could have been better
It doesn't look better in a lot of areas... Go to the great plateau and watch the landscape from the cliff...
@@animelover-vj6qy I feel like Hyrule Warriors is supposed to be cheesy, it isn't as serious as Breath of the Wild
Stop begging for views and likes. It’s really cheap and sad.
