استاد سایه گفت درخت ارغوانی در خانه‌ای که سال‌ها پیش در تهران در آن زندگی می‌کرده داشته است و وقتی دیگر در آن خانه نبوده، این شعر را به یاد آن خانه و درخت گفته است.

Sayeh said that he had a tree in the house where he lived many years ago in Tehran, and when he was no longer in that house, he wrote this poem in memory of that house and tree.
