Lobnica valley near Šumik waterfall from above (NE-Slovenia)

Lobnica stream runs through a wonderful gorge on its way from Pohorje towards the Drava valley and jumps over two picturesque waterfalls in between: Great and Small Šumik. The waterfalls are situated in a protected forest area called 'Virgin forest Šumik' where (as opposed to the rest of Pohorje), deciduous trees predominate. Lobnica Gorge is wild, steep and full of moist rocks covered with moss.
