I used to hate Christian contemporary, even after I was saved. But I really understand why it's such an amazing thing and why we should be grateful for it. The crowd is singing along even more passionately than at the best rock shows I've been to, but it's not to praise and worship the egos of selfish mortals; they are all there praising the one God, and you can almost feel him smiling back at them. It's a very unifying moment to witness.

Then I started listening to a radio station here in FL (z88.3) and noticed how beautiful these songs are, and I went to see one of these singers live... and you are right. Seeing these concerts I noticed that at times people weren't even looking at the stage, but to the sky singing to God. Everyone was singing and praising God, not the artist singing. Sometimes the singers have to let the crowd take over from how overwhelmed they are. It's truly beautiful.

I cheated death today after being involved in a major car accident, I shouldn't be alive typing but I am. Entire car I was in got totaled, if someone had been riding in the front passenger seat they wouldn't be alive. Everything was smushed in except where I was sitting, God was definitely watching over me and gave me a second chance to chance and live for him and I am here to testify that God really does love us and cares about us, Thank You Lord for this blessing of being able to walk away with only cuts and bruises. I was a chain smoking, drug addicted drunk before I came to the Lord. Looking back on my baptism, I was so sick in the soul. But I gave my life to Christ and He broke all my chains. I am sober from everything now. I asked Him when I first came to Him that I was hungry for His Word and I wanted to know it to share. and He answered my prayer. I don't have to worry about death anymore. I know my name is written in that Lamb's book of life and I know that i know THAT I KNOW that I will see my Lord face to face. Thanks be to God everlasting! I wanted to, well feel it is on my heart to alert folks to how easy it is to post something here to "catch" believers that don't study His Word, the Bible.. Sure, I know, know sometimes life is soooo busy. Just taking time to be with Jesus is our first response, loving Him, in our walks with Him.. So maybe that is why I think this is on my heart.. Be careful of folks that have a "nice picture" of Jesus that tell you to go to a link and they will tell you, "the real truth".. Such is someone here that has a nice picture of Jesus and even has "Jesus Christ" as his name.. believe me, He is not from Jesus.. The amazing thing to me, why 25 of us voted this person's post up? Don't we read the Bible anymore? Please please please, get involved studying His word, with your church, with Him!!! lol, He gave us the Spirit and He will guide us into all truth, but we find it in His Word.. That is what He uses and no "impression" or "seeming" truth contradicts what He says.. Learn to study in context. I know that is new to some, but context is merely understanding it is critical that each passage be examined in its proper context. Every word in the Bible is a part of a sentence; every sentence is a part of a paragraph; every paragraph is a part of a book; and every book is a part of the whole of Scripture. There is thus both an immediate and a broader context for each respective verse. The immediate context of a statement is the paragraph (or paragraphs) of the biblical book in question. No text of Scripture is independant from the statements around it. Interpreting a text apart from its immediate context is like trying to make sense of a Rembrandt painting by looking at only a single square inch of the painting, or like trying to analyze Handel’s “Messiah” by listening to a few short notes. The immediate context is absolutely critical to a proper understanding of individual Scripture texts. Make no mistake, we are in a battle, for others souls and our own.. We are told Eph_6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. This is not a "request". The word "Put on" in the Greek is a verb in the imperative mood, it is, ἐνδύσασθε and means to "sink into (clothing), put on, clothe one’s self" and is as I mentioned, "imperative" in mood, it is a command.. Now one of these things we are to "sink into, clothe ourselves with is mentioned and it is, "the Word of God"... You know, we know Jesus is good, this isn't something arbitrary our King wants, this is for the battle we are in, whether we realize it or not.. Read Ephesians 6 if you don't realize it. I know this is long and I want to add a post that showed some of the error from the guy, "Jesus Christ" that you will see if you see the Top comments.. A note, can I please get 25 of you to vote this up, so it will be next to that guy's post trying to get people to go to his website to get the "real truth", which isn't the gospel we all know, Jesus, lover of our souls, died upon a cross for my sins, as only God could pay for my sins, and rose again the third day, and by His blood alone, my acceptance of His wonderful mercy and grace, He lives in me! This person "Jesus Christ" that posted here and wants you to go to his site where he will show you "the real truth" is a wolf in sheep's clothing. The link is to another gospel , that is not the gospel we have as Christians. That person has taken a verse here, a verse there, and woven a "seemingly" good image which is not Biblical at all.. Jesus say's He sends the Comforter, the Holy Spirit into each of us that accept Him, His shed blood for us, and the Spirit guides us into all truth.. He guides us using His Word, the Bible! Read His word and study it as Paul referenced, "the more noble Bereans", and you will have your "spiritual senses" sharpened to see the spirit of error.. Which speaking of, really? 25 of us voted that guys post up? Boy that speaks volumes of sadness to where we are pursuing truth. The Bible says we have the "gospel", it was "once for all delivered", it hasn't changed, you cannot add to it, if you do,, boy there are some stern words for that.. The simple gospel is, 1Co_1:18 "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God" "1Co 1:23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishnle."; Please dear ones in Him, don't let someone as the link does, give you a bit of truth, and "mix" a lie in with it.... Read your Bibles, seek God in His Word, learn what studying in context means! As the Bible says, we have the gospel, it is not what that person states, as he pulls so many verses out of context, then extrapolates a conclusion that goes against what we are clearly taught as principles in God's Word, or gives some kind of reference, to lead to another subject, totally out of context to the original scriptures purpose or meaning.. First, let's take a scripture he just plain misquotes, and twists that to come to a conclusion.. Jesus said, “He who drinks from my mouth will become as I am and I will become he and the hidden things will be revealed to him.” Now as close as I can come to that statement is John 4:14 Joh 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. If you look at the John 4:14, IT IS SPEAKING OF the Holy Spirit we receive, as He fills our lives, our hearts. Will never thirst - Will never (provided he continue to drink thereof) be miserable, dissatisfied, without refreshment. If ever that thirst returns, it our fault not the water, because He says the water that I shall give him - The spirit of faith working by love, shall become in him - An inward living principle, a fountain - Not barely a well, which is soon exhausted, springing up into everlasting life - Which is a confluence, or rather an ocean of streams arising from this fountain. Now IN CONTEXT with the previous verses, this was in explanation, of what He told the lady at the well, and He could give her "living water".. yes, this is the Holy Spirit in you, Jesus would send. Joh_4:10 "Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water." Now for the link to "Jesus Christ" post and the pdf file and an example he has made up, he never really gives you chapter and verse for some of the doozers, but he twists scripture to allude to "ahh I am going to tell you what this means", "the hidden things" and then goes out of context to weave in another lie about a statement Jesus spoke about the abundant life!! So below, he uses a scripture... maybe.. I can't find it and have many versions as well as the Greek New Testament, that is as close as I could find something.. anyway, he then leads to give the "correct interpretations", weaving a partial scripture, leaving out the first part, lol, the warning about people like him, and defines "abundant life", without seemingly knowing the Biblical reference at all. Notice , partial scripture, now Einstein, is going to tell someone what is true, rather than what God tells us. Sorry, was He saved? Did He even believe in Jesus, believe what God says about abundant life? No, but he's a smart guy.. Sorry, without the Spirit, you don't know abundant life, and to define "True Religion", sorry, same comment.. Then, the post starts comparing knowing God, being filled with Him to our physical world.. Sorry, there is nothing like Him, as beautiful as nature is, I cannot know Him personally by it, experience Him, other than by His Spirit. We are all dead spiritually in our sins, apart from God and we know, He made us alive, nothing else could. Don't let his Picture of Jesus fool you!! Now the warning that the poster left out first, that warns of folks like him: But that he may steal, and kill, and destroy (ei mē hina klepsēi kai thusēi kai apolesēi). Literally, “except that” (ei mē) common without (Mat_12:4) and with verb (Gal_1:7), “if not” (literally), followed here by final hina and three aorist active subjunctives as sometimes by hotan (Mar_9:9) or hoti (2Co_12:13). Note the order of the verbs. Stealing is the purpose of the thief, but he will kill and destroy if necessary just like the modern bandit or gangster. So many other things I could go on about.. He is a modern day wolf, a new age gospel that is no gospel, no even understanding of a life lived by His love and grace from what he writes.. You know Paul commended the more noble Bereans for taking every thing he said and checking.. He has put this on my heart, and boy this is sad, wish it wasn't necessary to say this, but I know it is Him,, That was just a small sample of the error the guy weaves and paints a "picture" of Jesus for his post name to "appear" spiritual. I used to hate Christian contemporary, even after I was saved. But I really understand why it's such an amazing thing and why we should be grateful for it. The crowd is singing along even more passionately than at the best rock shows I've been to, but it's not to praise and worship the egos of selfish mortals; they are all there praising the one God, and you can almost feel him smiling back at them. It's a very unifying moment to witness.
Chris Bourland I felt the same way. Then I started listening to a radio station here in FL (z88.3) and noticed how beautiful these songs are, and I went to see one of these singers live... and you are right. Seeing these concerts I noticed that at times people weren't even looking at the stage, but to the sky singing to God. Everyone was singing and praising God, not the artist singing. Sometimes the singers have to let the crowd take over from how overwhelmed they are. It's truly beautiful.

I cheated death today after being involved in a major car accident, I shouldn't be alive typing but I am. Entire car I was in got totaled, if someone had been riding in the front passenger seat they wouldn't be alive. Everything was smushed in except where I was sitting, God was definitely watching over me and gave me a second chance to chance and live for him and I am here to testify that God really does love us and cares about us, Thank You Lord for this blessing of being able to walk away with only cuts and bruises. I wanted to, well feel it is on my heart to alert folks to how easy it is to post something here to "catch" believers that don't study His Word, the Bible.. Sure, I know, know sometimes life is soooo busy. Just taking time to be with Jesus is our first response, loving Him, in our walks with Him.. So maybe that is why I think this is on my heart.. Be careful of folks that have a "nice picture" of Jesus that tell you to go to a link and they will tell you, "the real truth".. Such is someone here that has a nice picture of Jesus and even has "Jesus Christ" as his name.. believe me, He is not from Jesus.. The amazing thing to me, why 25 of us voted this person's post up? Don't we read the Bible anymore? Please please please, get involved studying His word, with your church, with Him!!! lol, He gave us the Spirit and He will guide us into all truth, but we find it in His Word.. That is what He uses and no "impression" or "seeming" truth contradicts what He says..

This is not a "request". The word "Put on" in the Greek is a verb in the imperative mood, it is, ἐνδύσασθε and means to "sink into (clothing), put on, clothe one’s self" and is as I mentioned, "imperative" in mood, it is a command.. Now one of these things we are to "sink into, clothe ourselves with is mentioned and it is, "the Word of God"... You know, we know Jesus is good, this isn't something arbitrary our King wants, this is for the battle we are in, whether we realize it or not.. Read Ephesians 6 if you don't realize it.

Please dear ones in Him, don't let someone as the link does, give you a bit of truth, and "mix" a lie in with it.... Read your Bibles, seek God in His Word, learn what studying in context means!
As the Bible says, we have the gospel, it is not what that person states, as he pulls so many verses out of context, then extrapolates a conclusion that goes against what we are clearly taught as principles in God's Word, or gives some kind of reference, to lead to another subject, totally out of context to the original scriptures purpose or meaning..
First, let's take a scripture he just plain misquotes, and twists that to come to a conclusion..
Jesus said, “He who drinks from my mouth will become as I am and I will become he and the hidden things will be revealed to him.”
Now as close as I can come to that statement is John 4:14
Joh 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
If you look at the John 4:14, IT IS SPEAKING OF the Holy Spirit we receive, as He fills our lives, our hearts.
Will never thirst - Will never (provided he continue to drink thereof) be miserable, dissatisfied, without refreshment. If ever that thirst returns, it our fault not the water, because He says the water that I shall give him - The spirit of faith working by love, shall become in him - An inward living principle, a fountain - Not barely a well, which is soon exhausted, springing up into everlasting life - Which is a confluence, or rather an ocean of streams arising from this fountain.
Now IN CONTEXT with the previous verses, this was in explanation, of what He told the lady at the well, and He could give her "living water".. yes, this is the Holy Spirit in you, Jesus would send.
Joh_4:10 "Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water."
Now for the link to "Jesus Christ" post and the pdf file and an example he has made up, he never really gives you chapter and verse for some of the doozers, but he twists scripture to allude to "ahh I am going to tell you what this means", "the hidden things" and then goes out of context to weave in another lie about a statement Jesus spoke about the abundant life!!
So below, he uses a scripture... maybe.. I can't find it and have many versions as well as the Greek New Testament, that is as close as I could find something.. anyway, he then leads to give the "correct interpretations", weaving a partial scripture, leaving out the first part, lol, the warning about people like him, and defines "abundant life", without seemingly knowing the Biblical reference at all. Notice , partial scripture, now Einstein, is going to tell someone what is true, rather than what God tells us. Sorry, was He saved? Did He even believe in Jesus, believe what God says about abundant life? No, but he's a smart guy.. Sorry, without the Spirit, you don't know abundant life, and to define "True Religion", sorry, same comment.. Then, the post starts comparing knowing God, being filled with Him to our physical world.. Sorry, there is nothing like Him, as beautiful as nature is, I cannot know Him personally by it, experience Him, other than by His Spirit. We are all dead spiritually in our sins, apart from God and we know, He made us alive, nothing else could.

Now, maybe some preachers "error" as to what the abundant life is, but it is not the fault of His Word, as Jesus told the lady, He gives living water, He sends the Spirit and as I walk in Jesus, He is my abundance, He is God. I get to have God fill me, love me, each and every moment. I get to draw near to Him and He does draw near to me!!
Well this maybe a bit technical for some, but I would like to exegetically show you this verse, not leaving out the part about the warning of false prophets like this guy absolutely is.. Don't let his Picture of Jesus fool you!!
Now the warning that the poster left out first, that warns of folks like him:
But that he may steal, and kill, and destroy (ei mē hina klepsēi kai thusēi kai apolesēi). Literally, “except that” (ei mē) common without (Mat_12:4) and with verb (Gal_1:7), “if not” (literally), followed here by final hina and three aorist active subjunctives as sometimes by hotan (Mar_9:9) or hoti (2Co_12:13).
Note the order of the verbs. Stealing is the purpose of the thief, but he will kill and destroy if necessary just like the modern bandit or gangster.
Now the second part of the scripture, the words of Jesus, are clear and evident to what "life" is, as He is life, and what "abundant life" is:
"I came that they may have life" (egō ēlthon hina zōēn echōsin). In sharp contrast (egō) as the good shepherd with the thieves and robbers of Joh_10:1 came Jesus.
Note present active subjunctive (echōsin), “that they (people) may keep on having life (eternal, he means)” as he shows in Joh_10:28. He is “the life” (Joh_14:6).
"And may have it abundantly" (kai perisson echōsin). Repetition of echōsin (may keep on having) abundance (perisson, neuter singular of perissos). “to have a surplus,” true to the meaning of overflow from peri (around) seen in Paul’s picture of the overplus (hupereperisseusen in Rom_5:20) of grace.
Abundance of life and all that sustains life, Jesus gives.
The scripture, we all know isn't about stuff, it isn't about riches, it sure isn't where that guys wants to lead you.. It is about Jesus, life in Jesus, with Jesus is the abundant life, and I know so many of you totally understand that!!
Don't be fooled by the little fake picture of Jesus this guy has. So many other things I could go on about.. He is a modern day wolf, a new age gospel that is no gospel, no even understanding of a life lived by His love and grace from what he writes..
In finishing,,, my gosh, 25 of us, and 25 of us that probably do know Jesus's love as they have come here, voted this guy up?..
Please, read your Bibles.. You know Paul commended the more noble Bereans for taking every thing he said and checking.. He has put this on my heart, and boy this is sad, wish it wasn't necessary to say this, but I know it is Him,,
That was just a small sample of the error the guy weaves and paints a "picture" of Jesus for his post name to "appear" spiritual.

This video in black and white simplifies the song to really show it's not about the lighting or bright colors or the extremely loud volume levels or the nachos n cheese at a concert its about JESUS and the HOLY SPIRIT!!! 2 years ago I suffered depression due to bullying cause I cannot walk I have gone through a lot of surgeries and that time I almost committed suicide till I started joining a community and sang for the lord everytime i sing for him i feel like his there telling me everything will be fine and I am proud that this song was one song i love to sing him! I'm only 16 and that worshiping is one way I got healed from depression
