Fly Fish Food - Sport
Nice episode. I usually wouldn't fish dries on stillwater unless there really were steadily rising fish - so this kind of challenged that approach and changed my thinking a bit. When I hit those cutt lakes in Montana later this summer I'll be sure to have a bionic ant tied on a dropper off my usual hopper pattern. Thanks guys.
Definitely try fishing dries even if there are no risers present. Lake fish are quite opportunistic and if they frequent shallow water they will often look up. Cutts are particularly dry curious. 😂
Thanks guys! Was able to duplicate your success from the boat video a few days ago!
The Curtis commentary always cracks me up. My humor for sure.
Great video guys. Thanks for the info Lance and Curtis.
Awesome cutties 🙌🏼😎 Great video. Thanks!
Curtis: “But they’re eating ants......dummies” 😂
wow so little fight for their size?! good video as always!
all geared up, looking good slick
That looks super fun! Question though for Lance, what was the backpack that you were using? It looked like the Umpqua ZS2 500 on the front, but I'm looking for something that will pair with it like the one that you used in the form of a backpack.
I do envy yall bein able to have multiple flies. Very interestin
So, can you clarify the fly arrangement? Are you tying a surgeon’s knot then attaching a fly to the tag from the knot? Even for the first fly in the series?
That was incredible, more on lake fishing technique please 😉
With no boat🤭
Good way to take pressure off the river 👍
Has it been like this is years past? How long does this type of action usually last?
Hi Lance! Just curious, do you prefer that Sage over your G Loomis?
So what flies were working?
Now try to do this with a squach stomping around on the beach to scare the fish away, you won't be so lucky then!
Question for lance- I have an R8 core 6wt 10' and am looking for a dry fly line? I was looking at SA infinity in 6wt and SA Trout in 6wt? Opinions? I "think they are both over weighted 1/2 size? Do I still need to oversize more than that?
Digging that hat Lance was wearing. Will you be selling them?
Whats the name of your backpack/chestpack combo? greetings from Germany
Envy. Is this in CO. Can you give a few lakes to check out
Thxs
Utah
When it's crazy windy will the fish be that close to shore?
Yes, or closer.
Are you using a standard tapered leader to first fly?
Yes
Nice 👍🏻
Who makes the hoodie Lance wears?
That is an Orvis shirt, that's a classic Orvis camo pattern
What is Lance using to remove the hook?
Ketchum release tool. They’re on store.flyfishfood.com
@@Lanceeganflyfishing He does it so fast and efficiently. Guess that's what happens when you've caught as many fish as Lance has!!
This is such great info! The audio levels are turned up way too high and it makes my headphones buzz when lance and Curtis are speaking
I think you need a little more gear with you!!
Now try that at strawberry with 15 mph head wind and hill behind you. That’s real fly fishing in the real word.
Jim lloopp this was pretty real... the answer is to move to a spot where you can present a fly.
15mph. No problem. 30mph... well, you better find a place with the wind at your back.
This is Strawberry.
