Does meniscus grow back after meniscectomy or after it’s removed surgically?@drsharathkr80

  • Meniscectomy is surgical removal of fragments of torn meniscus if it’s not in a position to repair . This is done surgical with help of arthroscopy/ key hole surgery.
    Meniscus doesn’t grow after it’s removed and there will be empty space / void on the place and it might lead to early development of arthritis

    If we remove some part of meniscus then it grow for its original path as earlier
