Leather football boots seem to be making a bit of a comeback lately, so there are plenty of people now interested in leather boots that have never owned a pair before. If that's you, you might have heard that leather boots are hard to take care of and require a lot of maintenance, which couldn't be further from the truth!
IN this video I go over everything you need to know about how to properly care for leather football boots, including what you should do, how to use leather cream and covering some of the myths about leather boots in general.

My care program is, lever off any debris on the sole of the boot at the training ground with an old screw driver, no bashing the boot on the concrete which you see quite often. Once home I use an old brush and give the boots a quick
brush, remove the inner soles and leave them to dry naturally. The next day I wipe over with a damp cloth. Every so often if the leather begins to harden I will rub in leather conditioner to soften the leather up again. My boots seem to last a long time with this approach.
Should I feed my leather boots 2 or 3 times a day? I'm afraid he will starve if he doesn't eat
as long as your leather boots have ACC, you dont even need leather care kit. The ACC just cares the upper automatically

acc just coating for wet control not a protection for leather
There is another option if you don't want to use the cream and that is saddle soap. Saddle soap will help you to clean your cleats and at the same time it will soften the leather. Optional if you want to polish them!

but if it gets hard, put on some lotion and give it a good old rub

Which one would you choose between Nemeziz 18.1, Copa 18.1, Puma one 18.1 synthetic, Puma 19.1 leather ? And does the stud pattern and sole plate make that much of a difference for different positions? Eg: Can I play Second Striker/Winger/CAM with Conical studs of Copa 18.1?
you can play any position with any stud pattern, but if youre a forward such as ST/RW/LW/CAM or a GK, then I would recommend a more aggressive stud pattern. I dont have any of those boots, so I cant really give you a recommendation of which boot you should buy, but buy whichever fits you best.
Just wear whatever you are most comfortable in. If you want to wear some og Copa mundials and play striker, do it. If you like speed boots and want to hack people down in defense, do it. Personal preference is more important than what the companies that want your money are telling you to buy.
guys, I got Puma One 19.2 and Ive played just a few matches/trainings in them and Ive noticed that there is very little place with little cracks in the leather on the forefoot. What would you do with it? Is it normal ? I think it can be from some kind of duel when enemy stepped with his pins on my foot. Thanks a lot.

Is there a leather boot on the market that feels 'pingy' when you kick a ball? Or is this more synthetic?
Something thin like the Puma King Platinum provides that. There's always a softness associated to leather though.

Is it okay if i play with leather boots in wet conditions?
I did everything i was supposed to do with my rebulas but somehow the leather turned super hard and The got big holes in the leather. Still do not know why this happens after only 3 months of wear
That should never happen. Either you are using them on turf and really drag your feet a lot, leaving them in direct sunlight all the time, or you are spraying them with chemicals that damage the leather

My puma one 20.1’s were soaked so I put them on the shoe dryer and now the leather is not nearly as soft will the leather cream fix this
It should help. You should never dry football boots, especially leather boots with heat.

Dubbin waterproofs the upper, makes them easier to clean and conditions the leather.
OG copas do benefit from leather cream / dubbing as they get older (the water resistance is reduced quite a lot after a while).
To sum it up, modern leather boots aren't going to last long enough for the leather to wear out, they will fall apart first. In contrast to my leather Nike boots in the mid '80 which lasted a couple years with only replacement of the screw in studs. Those werr the best until my feet grew and split them apart. (Those are the cleats your dad told you about) :)

Ive been wearing tiempos for years, ive never had to apply leather creme or do anything else that u wouldnt have to do with "normal" football boots for that matter. Just clean them relatively regularly and dont store them wet, just let them dry away from the sun and ur good

Clean the mud of with water and a small soft cloth. Then I let them dry and put Chelsea leather food on them once they are dry.

first decent leather boot i owned were copa mundials. Never cleaned/or washed them... id say that's the same for 99% of the wearers... Next time notice how dirty copa's are that are worn by guys over 40+ lol
