When all else fails, there's still Kyuss.
When the world turns to shit, there'll still be Kyuss.
***** One does not simply solar flare out of Kyuss.
Shipoopiism until then I’m gonna go ignore my kids, sit in my rocking chair, stair at static on the television and meanwhile let out the occasional chuckle, and jam out to some Kyuss
Same feeling !!!!!
@@cajunpeople oof
i for one look forward to seeing our kyuss overlords
The fact that 16-18 years olds came up with such a powerful album really puts into perspective the creativity of the young mind. Kyuss is siiiiick.
Austin Loya it’s like youth and wisdom had a kid
The trick is to be bored. They lived out in the middle of nowhere desert-land, where the sun shot down all day long. All they had was their instruments, drugs and friends.
@@shillian4770 And now no one's ever bored because they've got their iphones, and there's nothing new or centres of creative energy don't happen anymore.
still powerful in 2023
@@richardcrook2112 occupied? yeah, never bored? disagree, creative energy doesnt happen anymore? you're just not looking hard enough.
Reminder that Josh Homme was 17 when this came out @_@
ZedK49 Homme is pure genius
sauce
Reminder, actually, he was only *16* when this came out. Released April 19, 1990...Josh was born May 17, 1973.
(released one month shy of his 17th birthday)
And 16 during recording it.
Pretty damn impressive.

Song like a bulldozer!!!
Thanks
This sounds like music made by people who grew up somewhere where you have to check your shoes for scorpions.
great album! still rocking in 2023 🤘🤘
INNIT
I feel like you can really hear what Kyuss was all about. Taking classic metal from the 70s and doing it their way, more modern also.
I can clearly hear metal influence, but let's not ignore the fact that they were also influenced by punk rock such as Black Flag (although Black Flag does occassionally go into doom/stoner/sludge metal territory - such as B side of My War).
So glad this is on youtube. I feel like early Kyuss is overlooked and underrated as it is but I fucking love this and all these different versions of their early songs. I always thought Wretch was unfairly underrated. Sure, Blues for the Red Sun is better but Wretch has some of their best riffs and songs IMO. I think the raw sound of this and Wretch sounds fucking killer and only adds to the intensity of the music. Super polished production wouldn't help it at all.
much agreed. Wretch I still think is fucking killer and their best record.
I've always loved this album cover. If you free your mind a bit, The band's positioning kind of spells out, "KYUSS".
Damn you sound high as fuck but also it do
Bruh! That's some high (level) observation.
Weird. Also....if u read it backwards..it says SSUYK...Crazy eh
@@navarrenavarre Nah man.. you just have to squint your eyes a bit more. Definitely says KYUSS..... oh..... wait a second.......
@@upliftmofo I agree 👏🏻
I discovered Kyuss in the mid 2000s and have listened to them a lot ever since. I can't believe I've never heard this before! Great post, thanks!
The best album of all time! and the best quality u cant get a better quality then this thank you brother god bless you.

So nice to hear the vinyl sound in the background...
isolation desolation and love has passed me by will always be the same song with different lyrics in my brain . the riffs are almost identical !!
🤘Amazing album🤘Great sons🤘
just found this
i can hear danzig with the greatness of kyuss mixed
fuck yeah
Homme's guitar tone is about as dirty as it can be.
One of the guitar tones easily recognizable, even now in Queens, to me the sound of Stoner.
they actually weren't happy about the tone in first albums becouse those were their first studio albums and they were used to play live with bass amps so they simply couldn't transition the tone into recordings
fuck modern music, this, right here, is where it's at
ok boomer
Oh, the debuts... It's where you can found the soul of a band and where they came from. These guys were coming out from the '80s, listening and absorbing a lot of the thrash metal and hard rock, blending it to some bluesy things, giving birth to the stoner rock.
This record is an absolute treasure, I need a physical copy.
*punk not thrash metal
You can hear the same influences in Fu Manchu
They don't even like metal, but what the fuck ever.
This more punk influenced than metal, and a descendent of the scuzzy garage psych bands really.
Still listening in 2022!
This is awesome, one of the best of Kyuss
Really good sound quality, thanks a lot!
Really don't give a shit what critics or others might think. SONS OF KYUSS is some bad add rock n roll. Every bit as good as Sky Valley or Circus
I'm bangin my head and lovin it.
What? Who would disagree with that? It's much better than Sky Valley or Circus imo
Brant, nick, and josh made a deadly grove together
The best album i have ever listen
a much heavier sound texture , than on the " wretch " album , which is great !!!
I agree, and I like how John's vocals are clearer here than on the Wretch release.
Raw and gritty.
+Queens of the Stone Age BRING BACK THE BASS AMPS!!!!!!!
I had no idea that this existed. F yeah. 😳💯👍🤘
wow, i didn't knew this even existed! I really like it. The totally raw power! Too bad it's not released on cd. Excellent ep!
Hellfiiiiiire in my veins
🔥
love..THE BEAT OF ISOLATION..DESOLATION!!!
Isolation Desolation is just ridiculously good.
Thanks!
This is amazing. You can hear the motif of Queens' Into the Hollow in Isolation Desolation.
+airheadLana Dammit, they screwed up another one??!! Leave Kyuss alone, QOTSA!

2:30 John sounds like '80's Mustaine and at 6:10 he sounds like Danzig
@Azazel Acheron how is he a shitty human being? or bad at guitar for that matter? you can not like his voice that's fair but a lot of like his style
@@AntonioProla He is a right wing christian nutjob. Search for some of his disgusting quotes if you want to know what a terrible human being he is.
Haha
I riff on guitar and hearing these tunes is inspiring...🤘🤘🎸🎸
Black Widow is so fucking good on here man! 🤘🔥🏜
This is awesome!! holy shit!!
So RAW brah!
Steven Shirk so fresh and real
great album
🎸🎸
oohhh oh kyuss!
rise and shine
Isolation Desolation is my favorite.
Fuck yeah. Ims just getting in to these guys and its nice to listen to their debut raw album without paying out the nose. Lazy and Cool my kinda snuff.
This sounds better than me and my mates jamming back in the day. Don't get me wrong. We sucked. If only we were destined to become GODS OF ROCK!
So Sabbath, awesome.
Thank you very much I thought I had all of kyuss... Now I do thanks to you, fuckin badass God this is fuckin awesome!!!
Louis Lynn check out John Garcia and brant Bjorks solo albums too
Why dont they comin back together god damn!? Miss Bands like that and Kyuss was simply great!! Hellya!🤘☝️💘🐞

fuuuuuuuuuck awesome album, all of it.
i put in the split EP when I wish there was more Kyuss. This will help. More KYUSS !
che figata.............................
Forklift instructr tells me about this band.. good fkn call mate.
❤
Vaguely reminds me of early Metallica, specifically Kill em All.
Reminds me a little bit of misfits danzig era, especially the more punky songs
yes
There is no peace just unrest, hanging on and might gain something.
"C'maun"
Kyuss é FODA
Just set myself on fire then jumped out my window ran up to these kids playing yelled in their faces......and now im back.
dope
you got it...agreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
moooee metalooo
"Black Widow" kicks ass.
💀🤘☠️💥🔥🤯❤️🤩
Second track sounds like danzig
its like the song she rides
spot on
Like DANZIG?
AS IF!!!!
This sounds like something you'd hear while shopping at a K-mart store!!!!
They were Danzig fans and In '92 during How The God's Kill Tour they opened up for them and killed it.
Wretch's version of Love Has Passed Me By sounds a little bit like Isolation Desolation, but this version sounds a lot like it. The second version is much improved.
great musical testimony of what the band was originally , a much heavier sound than on " wretch " still !!! real heavy shit , anyway ...
I wish I knew how to adjust it so I could hear the bass better
fuck yeah!!! thx
12:48 This song is much much much much too strong UUHH !
lol the ending "oh kyuss" is so me
fuck yeahh

Window of Souls sounds like Danzig
what ever happened to Chris Cockrell he had a great sound
LOLOL
Stoner rock sound soul

Caraca, que som!! Kyuss é muito bom, pena que aqui no Brasil essas nhaca acham q sertanejo e funk são músicas boas!!
readed?
They liked Samhain and misfits
Wow. This sounds a lot like a similar band. Cant put my finger on who it is tho...... oh well
Sarkasmus?
What was the line up Please?
John Garcia - vocals
Josh Homme - guitar
Chris Cockrell - bass guitar
Brant Bjork - drums
Nick Oliveri replaced Cockrell on bass for Wretch and Blues for the Red Sun. However, the versions of Deadly Kiss and Black Widow on this EP were also on Wretch so those two songs obviously still feature Cockrell. The versions of Isolation, Love Has Passed Me By and Katzenjammer on Wretch are re-recorded with Oliveri though.
grunge
Is it just me or am I hearing some slight Metallica vibes in those vocals?
Man Josh let them tour son let the others tour ain't bout money it's about fan being happy. Or just fucking reform and tour gladly pay the 40/50 price point per. Or QOTSA/Kyuss/EODM tour come' an' give me the knife lets do it for Johnny we'll do it for Johnny man
btw-readed-what the fuck is that?
Sons of Kyuss = Danzing's Dirty Guitar + Metallica's Trash + Punk + Mötley Crüe's Vocal + Black Sabbath's Black Vibe
...this music was great...when Danzig did it...
I'd gladly listen to whatever Danzig track you can dig up that sounds like this
@@itsverynice She rides, Devil's Plaything, Twist of Cain, End of time
@@69draven73 Thanks man, appreciated! I'll give them a listen
Wow, blown away by both 'Devil's Playground 'and' She Rides'. I can see now where John Garcia found inspiration. Thansk again for the recommendation Much obliged. Damn, that was kickass lol.
The worst grammar i have ever readed
Not all dropouts are equal
If it makes you feel better, I have seen worse.
dont even why the fuck kyuss figure on the "metal archives" they were a great band...but this and his whole catalog don´t fit there...this demo o ep ..reminds me a lot to a band called seaweed.
Production on drums and vocals is such garbage.
