One of the main reasons a lot of us metal heads went to ESP in the first place was because we couldn't afford the Gibson USA stuff and the 1000 series was affordable. Now the 1000 series is hitting almost 2k and that is just insane to think about now..
I mean Korean models go for that regularly as they've only gotten better over time.

Been playing ESP's for 20 years and I have no regrets. I have loaned them out to be taken on the road and in the studio. They still sound great and the durabilty ie amazing. KH-202 is still my favorite guitar in my collection.
the Mike Leon signature bass is so bad ass, dude is a beast on the bass. its so amazing to see him stream on twitch so up close to see him work his craft. Lets go!

My first guitar that I still own and love is an ESP Eclipse with EMG pickups. I dream of owning a full on Japanese ESP Custom guitar one day.

i love my esp eclipse. It just works stays in tune and delivers. These guys might make the most aproachable guitar for anyone. Certainly for heavy music.
That XJ-1 HT black blast is my dream guitar I have been thinking about for the past 2 years or more with everything about the guitar no lie. The only significant thing that would back it better if I could have 2 with one of them being baritone like 27" or 28" scale and I would say something about the inlays but I am honestly not fussy about that kind of stuff. ESP has been my favourite guitar brand for years that I have never had the chance to play as the ones I want were out my price range at the time.

I really wish ESP didn’t lean into the LTD brand so firmly. I played a customer’s real ESP MII a couple years back and it really drove home how great the real ESPs can be. I get it, man…LTDs are nice guitars. I’ve played plenty of horizons and M style LTDs over the years that have felt great. But I can never get it out of my head when I see someone playing one…”oh, it’s an LTD…like an ESP but inferior”. It’s just a psychological thing that I *can’t* seem to ditch. I would probably own an ESP by now but they’re just so difficult to find in a sea of $800 LTDs.
That thought of ”oh, it’s an LTD…like an ESP but inferior” is exactly why they changed ESP Standard to E-II. Most E-II's are absolutely flawless out of the box, with the same care, craftsmanship, and features/options as ESP USA and Original. So if they put ESP on the headstock there would be zero incentive to pay $2,000 - $5,000 more for a USA or Original. However, some people just can't get over the E-II logo, so they're willing to fork out the extra money for that dream ESP guitar complete with the logo. ESP knows this, and while it's extremely greedy it's also a very clever and profitable marketing strategy.

It goes to show that guitarists, as “evolved” as we might think we are, are still susceptible to the whole “Nike”, “Coca Cola” thing. What’s interesting though is that it doesn’t affect every brand the same way for me. PRS SEs are *killer* guitars and I’ve played many that compete with my core PRSs, feelwise. Same with Squier…there are certain Squier models (e series from the 80s and classic vibes) that I actually *prefer* over some Fenders. For some reason, LTD and Epiphone (before Gibson started winding the bowl) have always resided in that “like ‘X’ but inferior” category to me…right or wrong…

Where are the E-ii's ? This isn't an ESP presents its more of an LTD presents with a high premium price point for entry. Unimpressed to say the least.

I was today years old when I learned that ESP stands for Electric Sound Products
You know… I have only ever owned one LTD in my life - SC-207… and I never should have traded it. It played like a $1,000+ guitar for a quarter of the price. Incredible QC. And this video is so much more intentional and engaging than ANY other brand. This is the year I get an LTD for the studio. Eyeing up the EC with the custom Duncan 14! Give your marketing person a raise! 🎉 thanks for putting this together.

Man that SN-1000 EverTune Koa looks gorgeous, except for the Evertune bridge. More info on the website reveals that it has ESP exclusive Seymour Duncan Custom 14 pickups!

ESP guitars are my absolutely weapon of choice, my ESP LTD M-10 as been my number 1 weapon for the last 4 years - cost me £100 and its just perfect in ever way! ESP guitars are the best out there and it is the only guitar I'll use throughotu my music career
I had One EC10 that played and sounded killer but I just couldn't get along Werth the black finish or the basswood body and neck so I got an EC-256 FM for like $80 more and I've had it ever since ! It's a great guitar made in Vietnam of all places but you should treat yourself to higher end M model, my schecter Omen is gorgeous Quilt maple top in purple 💜 burst and it's made in World factory Indonesia 2017 and I think ESP uses the same factory as schecter so you will get a great guitar !

In october 2023, I paid 2.600 EUR to Thomann, for an E-II Horizon NT-II TEAF lefthanded, that was supposed to arrive by the end of the year, only to be told, a couple of weeks later, that the delivery date is postponed to september 2024! Sepember fucking 2024!!!

1:55 Coming from lower tremolo bridges, I never liked how high over the body the Nashville style bridges puts the strings. Recessed bridge is GREAT.

A bit of a lost opportunity not having the Horizon Custom '87 come with stainless steel frets since it's still a "1000-level" instrument... 😕Sure, it's not the "original spec" but I was certain I'd have to get one as tracking down an original late 80s/early 90s Horizon is getting hard these days. I'd think twice before buying a guitar that doesn't have stainless frets as they're just so much better for playability and durability.
Especially since even the EC-01 comes with stainless frets at a much cheaper price point :/

Short story. I have 2 very expensive Gibson guitars. They’ve been in their cases for the past 5 years. My LTDs and ESP get played every day. I only record with LTD and Framus.

Unfortunately the 87 reissue can't have the knife head no more because of law suits. I own an original Horizon custom from 1988, a seethru salmon pink one without any dots on the ebony fingerboard. Its head looks like a Jackson one, but better. I always preferred the knife shape by ESP than the original head by Jackson witch dive too much down. Please Fender, let them do it again !

Thanks for the compliment! The songs I played on here are ones I wrote specifically for the demos, however I do play in a few bands if you're interested: Crepuscle (symphonic Melo-death), Sea in the Sky (prog rock/metal), Darkness Everywhere (Melo-death), and Illucinus (tech death).

I don’t have anything against Ltd 1000 series guitars. I’ve got 3. They are great affordable guitars but I also have 2 ESP made in Japan from various decades. It’s not that they’re like day and night but there’s a significant difference. From a marketing perspective I understand why the company pushes the Ltd as many can’t afford the Japanese made ones and much less the guitars on the Japanese website. There’s really nothing under 5k. I was going for a FRX in glitter storm Violet but the wait is is like a year…at best.

Royal Shiva? You guys stole my 1986 Ibanez AM75 semi acoustic guitar. Unassuming beast, it came with triple ceramic humbuckers that was a cooperative design between DiMarzio and Ibanez. The pickups were some of the first black, solid cast pickups I'd ever seen. I thought it looked really classy, and I had to have it. Who knew it was a sleeper metal machine?
