I HATE the prices the USA-1 variant goes for. Some people have never experienced this bug with their base copies So I think it's better to ask around on ebay if anyone has ever experienced the bug instead of 400 buck copies of the patched game
I got a buggy copy. Sometimes I didn't even need to turn off the game in order for the data to be deleted. I couldn't complete some of the championship paths because of this
Brooo One day back in like 2010-11. Me and my brothers were playing no mercy for hours til dark time, then the game started glitching and this default character showed up (we’d always play royal rumble) so we quit the game and loaded up a game with just our created characters, same default characters came out. No music or name or walking animation, just a default character in the default stance floating to the ring. Shit was creepy af but our data got deleted after we booted the game up again 😂😂
Who has time to fuck around with a game that erases hours of time you don’t have that you put into it as an adult though? Glitch games are not good games
I remember years ago this exact thing happened to me, I played a bit longer but then stopped playing for awhile, I went back to the game maybe a couple years later and my saved data was back, it did get deleted again. Anytime I go back, I hope it’ll come back. It’s really the only negative about the game, other than that it’s a classic and one of my favourite wrestling games as well as just general games of all time, definitely my top 3
I remember if I would unlock a character like Shawn Michaels or Andre the Giant and then put them in a title match, as soon I hit the finishing maneuver, the screen would flash and once the match was iver I would notice everything was deleted.
you might be on to something because by now or two months ago, we would have gotten a patch that would fix the issues with deleted data. Am willing to bet they can't fix this issue due to the other features that's in the game and what might be causing the issue. I still stand by this, I think part of it has to do with Superstar universe mode. We didn't have that before in previous games or when the whole universe mode started back int smackdown vs raw 2011. Maybe they do know where the issues are in the game, but it's impossible to fix it due to the features that's in the game. The game as a whole is very weird, I mean look at what they took out from the previous game like promos in universe mode and they are still having issues??
Former THQ guy Sanders Keel confirmed on the Insiders Edge podcast that it was Nintendo's fault. The carts were faulty. The USA-001 number on the front is the patched version. I sent mine into THQ for the patched version back in early 2001. They released patched versions of other games like GTA San Andreas without hot coffee. They had a different version number like 2.1 or something and the memory card info from the older version wasn't compatible with the newer one. In Europe they killed two birds with one stone and got rid of the blood, because areas like Germany didn't allow it so the patched pal versions don't have visible blood. Characters still go through the animation, tho.
@@EliteEasyE I do apologise, I can confirm that No Mercy Pal version does have the bloodshed option but there’s no blood, So basically in matches like first blood, you would be stuck in that match forever. I played it today, spending 20 minutes to make Stone Cold bleed, did not happen, sorry for the misinformation

The only time this bug did this to me when you win a title in the championship mode with a CAW. That was it then everything disappeared

Yea this game was near the end of the N64's life cycle. I wish it made use of the expansion pack

I suspect the programmer was short changed so they left a bug that was hard to correct in untill they were paid correctly.

My copy was so bad it would mix up the characters like some women would come out with facial hair and some characters would crash the game

They fixed the No Mercy issue and releases a patch with the USA-001 version. You could send the game in for a working copy as well.

These days you can get a cheap flash cart and use a USA-1 rom, but yea you can't play off original cartridge
