Fresh Sugarcane Juice Drink Crushed from Diesel Powered Machine

This video is from the Archives while bike touring in Costa Rica. This pure sugar cane drink was just so amazing and helped bike in the afternoon. The Juicer uses diesel or petrol to grind up the sugar cane.

I know this is not my typical rambling video, but I wanted to share some insight to the things you can see while bike touring that I feature on my other channel.
Sugarcane is a tropical and subtropical crop that is grown primarily for the production of sugar, although it is also used for the production of biofuels and other industrial products. In India and Central America, sugarcane is typically grown on large commercial farms.
To grow sugarcane, the fields must be prepared by plowing and leveling the soil. The sugarcane plants are then propagated from cuttings or by planting seeds, which are called "sets." After planting, the sugarcane plants require a lot of water, fertilization, and care to grow properly. It takes approximately 12 to 18 months for the plants to mature and reach the stage where they can be harvested. Harvesting is typically done from December to March.
Once the sugarcane is mature, it is harvested by cutting the stalks of the plants at the base. This is usually done by hand, although in some cases mechanical harvesters may be used. After the sugarcane is harvested, it is transported to a processing facility or sold as stalk.
