as in real life, many teams (specially outside england) are trying different routes. for the past 3 years, mourinho's roma was criticesed for never ever crossing the ball and working only through the middle. just like atalanta and fiorentina usually do. here in brazil, our wingers are mainly inside forwards who like to dribble in speed and try a cross goal. I think our last great aerial threat was Fred, in 2014 and that's it.
do you remember the luca toni's days? the peter crouch's days? that attacker from dortmund, jan koller's days? I guess we won't play in that fashion anymore.
    cheers for the video!

Despite the generally low success rate of crosses when the attribute is below 13-14 I still see a lot of headers scored, arguably too many. Having a tall guy with good jumping reach up front won me a trophy or two :)

Cross less often and low cross for inverted wingers also works great, they will drive to the half space and put in low crosses for tap ins

Inverted wingers and generally players playing with opposite foot tend to put in "smarter" crosses and their success rate is generally better, using low crosses as a variation of through balls is a nice idea, I'll try it!

I have become a fan of floated but usually go with mixed. In previous versions whipped were definitely my favourite. Dunno why they are not doing great with pacy forwards this year

    In Football Manager:
    1. Crossing: bad
    2. Dribbling: good
So, I tend to add "dribble more" if my player is a good dribbler at all, and "cross less", unless he's an exceptional crosser.

I was rarely using "cross less" before as on the other hand there are so many headers scored ... But now I'm very careful with wing players and the PI

With a great TF crossing is very good. Most of my goals were headers. But I sold my TM and still I hate to see my wingers crossing high on the direction of my gnome striker. Even though low crossing is set.

Weird thing is a lot of headers (arguably too many) are scored in the game. Elite strikers in the air score up to 10 per season IRL and ingame you can get over 20. So crossing is a very effective way to score and yet if decisions/crossing is not high enough and/or you don't have a good striker at the end of them - I feel it is super wasteful.
It's almost like you should either use cross more often PI for good crossers or cross less often for bad crossers and never leave it the default :D I just had James Tavernier deliver 35 assits over a season testig a tactic. I had Jose Gaya deliver 25 ... mad numbers
