Is it harder to go down or to go up?
We're gonna figure this out together you are gonna see the whole thing and understand why I couldn't do anything else but rest after that experience.

We climbed Mt Kinabalu 3 times. My husband and I make that as 10 years promise. The next trip, i.e. the 4th will be 2029, we will be 48 and 56 year old by then. This promise keep us fit and healthy, everytime we feel fitter compared to 10 years ago.

I'm glad many of you ended up being motivated to climb the beast, it's an experience of a lifetime I definitely recommend it! Budget is between RM600 and RM1k+ depending on you being local or foreigner, plus the extra for clothes and accessories
Time to wait is usually around 6 months... I know it's long, be patient and train well before 👍
I hope you will go to Semporna, Sabah. theres a lot of island and I would like recommend Mabul, Boheydulang, Sipadan or Kapalai Island. Its like Maldive of Sabah. Hope you will go someday.

Next up try heading to the east of Sabah (Semporna) for the islands and sun. There's also a great 600m hike up to Bohey Dulang Island viewpoint with magnificent view of the ocean, reefs and islands nearby. You will definitely love it.

I was at Low's peak at the age of 52..the oldest in the group , of family & collegues fr Sarawak. But we trained a lot, several times climbing some mountains, including the almost vertical Gunung Sentubong...this is more difficult actually

Congrat.. u should try Mt Tahan after this.. I have reached peak of Mt Kinabalu in 2010 and Mt Tahan in 2018.. Mt Tahan is much toughest than Kinabalu because u have to carry your own bag n walk 32km (both way)

I've hiked Mount Kinabalu in 2018. The hiking part is nothing to me and it was easy. But the descend part is freakin hard it's literally hell. My knees is so wobbly I fall so many times going down. By the time I touch the base, my knees just gave out and I collapsed immediately lol. Some of my friend just gave up and hired some of the Porter to carried them down haha. My advice while going down, use a hiking sticks, knees pad and put soft pads in front of your toes inside the shoes.
I was amused by your reaction when you reached the stairs towards Timpohon.. 🤣🤣
Yes, going down is easier if you can go very fast.. but usually people will be so tired and walk slowly.. it is better to wear shoes with shoelaces.. tied them tightly so that your toes won't touch the front of the shoes..
You were lucky to climb kinabalu without any rain or bad weather.. your shoes were still dry when you climb to the peak..

One of the most difficult peaks to climb on mount Kinabalu is Victoria Peak, the one that has vertical spire (some climbers said it is the highest peak, approximately 4,1++m)
You should take a video of how you walked when you get up the next morning! Aaaaagh. Stiff legs. That was what I had when I climbed the first time without training.
visit Mount Jayawijaya in Indonesia, you can see and touch the snow even though the snow on Mount Jayawijaya is melting due to global warming, this mountain is located in Papua, eastern Indonesia
1:58 Donkey's Ears Peak behind you. Unfortunately it was damaged during the earth quake and one ear had become shorter. The 2 ears were about the same height, and I was lucky to have a picture of it before it was damaged.
2:51 That's the South Peak. It's on the 100 Ringgit bill rather than the Lowe's Peak because it's more beautiful and iconic.
5:20 If I recognized correctly, last time we needed to climb a cliff here. Now they put wooden stairs and that makes it a lot easier and safer.
