Hey billy, a problem me and some others seem to be having is that the Elipse mask (any mask for that matter) does not work. It pops up as a white circle and when we ctrl + T the entire output turns into a white image. Not sure if you know how to fix this but if so, please let us know. thank you

I'm using a Mac and doing Command T to the Merge 1 node and I just get white. Looks like others have the same issue. Anyone able to solve this?

The scale (or any other setting) in transform node is not limited by the slider range. You just need to type in the number manually. Also, I have serious doubts about adding last transform node for the motion blur. Motion blur needs to be activated on the nodes with animation keyframes.
You are right. Don't do the transform node at the end. I also found out that the transform node isn't limited by the slider. So I appreciate that!

You should start adding the inner clip just when you want to zoom in so it can play further afterwards and is not limited to the fusion clip. You can then just cut it and leave the rest outside the fusion clip that is now in the edit module.

maybe someone said it already in the comments, but if you wanna scale above 5 in the transform node, just type in the value and the slider will adjust so that the new value is the center of the slider, it works on other values too if i am not wrong, nice channel btw
Thank you so much, I did it and it worked .. At first I got the white circle then I realized I made the wrong connection, Then I connected the gray ellipse port to the blue merge1 port and connected the gray background1 port to the green merge1 port as you did and it worked .....

Hey man ... awesome tutorial...have you got any tips on this effect but using multiple background clips? like a different one everytime someone blinks?
Ie is there an easy way to disable the mask whent they blink and re engage it whent the eye opens?

Thanks for this, actually i used this tutorial to make viewfinder zoom transition , instead of eclips mask i just used rectangular , but i didnt get whats that polygon mask used for , so i didnt touch it, rest everything same. Man , you are like a magician ! 😀😀
also, i found that vfx connection clip along with the options of compound clip and fusion clip, whats that for ?

Hey this is a really great tutorial! I just had one question. I got all the way to the end where we make a motion blur on the last transition node. But now that i'm done, why isn't the fusion clip just a black screen when I go back to the edit tab?

I'm pretty new to this program. I tried to follow along but my workflow just doesn't resemble what you show. Should I be starting somewhere else? This was my first attempt at fusion. Maybe there's a basic level of understanding needed first?
So let me ask you. I did a movie where I mask on scene to another using the color mode. So this works better?

you can tipe in a number in the transform node... so you can tipe in 10 insted of using two times a zoom of fife-times...
Can I do this in the free version of resolve or only the paid version ?

Awesome video man! I’m thinking of switching to DaVinci. I’m interested in getting the A7siii as well. Is there any limitations DaVinci has compared to After Affects and Premiere Pro? I want do smooth seamless transition the style like JR Ali and Sam Kolder
Hey nick! That's a beast camera! Glad you liked the video! So honestly, I came from premiere pro and after effects. Unless you are getting into extremely advanced rtx type stuff in fusion you won't have any limitations. As of right now fusion doesnt have ray tracing capabilities, but I expect it soon. I make a ton of awesome vfx and edit all of my pro client work in resolve. I wouldn't ever switch back to premiere. Give it a try! It's free :)

Who is moving away from fusion? So I plan on making more drag and drop effects but so many of the effects rely on masks that have to placed dependent on your footage. So I can't make an eye zoom effect drag and drop. It won't work. I don't think people are moving away from fusion. Maybe you are, but a lot of people are trying to learn it and want to know how to do stuff like this.

My idea is to do a backwards flying shot with the drone, than make some kind of masking transition through my sunglasses and zoom out of them to another backwards drone shot. Do you have any idea how I could make that work easily?

Yeah it can be done pretty much exactly like this. A lot of the same details and techniques Are in it :)
You can follow this video, it would be the reverse process. Instead of the eye it's the glasses. Instead of zooming in its zooming out. You still need to track, you still need to double the image. You still need to mask the stuff out and link the tracking data to the mask :)
my forrest node is not showing after connect to merge 3 on screen why ? only eyes is there in left screen and right screen is black how to solve it
In 17.4 when I go to Track from beginning to end or vice versa an error box pops up.." composition 2 warning render did not complete"
I reset all playback setting and Fusion Rendering and in Preferences unchecked box in the UI section "stop rendering when a clip is missing ect ect"
Maybe when you have time to make an updated version for 17.4 and include a fix for this error.
I did google search and youtube search and there is nothing only one with same problem actually posted 8min prior to me finding and everyone says to make all the same changes.
The only thing is something about color? Both clips are shot in BRAW.

@@BillyRybka yow. It's okay now bro. The eye node from the below the merge node was not connected to the proper input on merge node 2. Fusion is tricky. One mistake and everything is ruined

Yes, you're node arrangement is off. You need to make sure that not only do you have the nodes out and connected. you also need to make sure that the connections are correct. Like the small triangles on the nodes. Odds are you have an alpha (the blue triangle) connected, probably where you're forest is. Make sure those connections are correct and the colors match. I helped the people who were saying there is a white circle in the center and everytime it was the same thing. Also make sure the background you placed that goes over the eye is colored black not white. Let me know how it goes

You can do this clip whenever and wherever. No effect is bound to a certain type of video :D

When I click unsteady position, the transform node and 'media out' goes red. Everything working fine up to there :(
