second stage physics is so underrated. We went from first stage to this, at 0:10, 0:20 the weight of the car cornering, the counter steer, all of it is on point. Kyoichi's finishing Scandinavian flick is another really good animated scene. Even fifth stage has a lot of moments with questionable physics
Eh, not really, both have their hiccups, stage 2 drifts alotta times slide when they shouldnt, like theres a magical force pushing them outwards around a corner from behind which looks really bad and isnt how cars move, stage 1 executed weight shifts better imo

Fun Fact: The engine sounds for Wataru's 86 turbo is actually taken from a real 86 turbo that appeared in Best Motoring 1999. The 86 turbo that was used for Wataru's 86 turbo is the one build by Ukiya Shoukai. The Ukiya Shoukai 86 used the T25 turbo from the CA18DET engine and it made 180 HP.
Just found that out from Tyra Gney and watched the vid where the 86 appeared.

One thing i noticed about the Levin's turbo sound is all you can hear is the turbo spooling up while in Battle Stage, you can hear the turbo and the 4A's rumble in the same clip but in Battle stage.
The CGI and sound mixing in this battle is just so mesmerising to see.

I love edits like these because it opens up the option to watch scenes with different music in the background.

2:16 Wataru's "Blitz Turbo Boom" scene without Make Up Your Mind playing is quite... surreal to watch. In my opinion makes the thing less adrenalinic to watch but as my very favourite scene of my favourite battle in the whole Initial D franchise.
In any case, great to see it in a more realistic way, and I bow down to you for the MAJESTIC WORK of revisiting the various duels without Eurobeat or sound files, a truely meticolous and hard work. Keep it going! 💪🔥

It's a shame that the version with audio 5.1 of the First and Second Stage have most of the sounds fused with with BGM channel, otherwise we could do more edits with those Stages.
I wonder if you could use phase inversion to mute the music all the way, I'll try it if I get the chance

Something that I sill wonder, is if the Funimation dub has the same problem in its audio 5.1 version or if it's different.

Takumi's 86 looked like a Corolla GTS in first and second stage.
Both the JDM and Usdm looked the same except their engine options
except that Takumi's has an actually good looking front bumper and good engine.

The ae86 and ae85 both came in two body styles, hatch and coupe. Each body style has the trueno and levin variant. (trueno is pop-up lights and levin is static lights) The ae86 and ae85 are not visually different
