    Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on this program! I’m getting ready to start this program with my kiddo next month and was struggling with a few uncertainties about the format. You’ve clarified everything I’ve been struggling with! I truly appreciate you taking the time to break down your process. On a completely different note, you and your daughter have the same beautiful smile! Thank you for brightening my morning! God bless!

    Your daughter is delightfully confident and your review was so enthusiastic 😊. Thank you. I’m looking for my nine year old daughter who loves to write and has been frustrated by her spelling errors. I want to get out of the pattern we are in of me always pointing them out or being her editor. I think she will really enjoy the independent nature of this program, the challenge and visual progress. Thanks for sharing.

      You are very welcome Tirzah-Marie. So glad it gave you some good information. We love Phonetic Zoo. And the independence it gives the student when working on spelling eases the errors and encourages quick recall to correcting if errors are made. No condemnation in spelling any more. Thank the Lord. Thanks for checking out my channel Tirzah-Marie. Be blessed.

    Over and over, we return to IEW products because Andrew Pudewa knows what he is doing. These products work for all stages of learning ability and they enforce excellent thinking skills. I have graduated two children using IEW's curricula and they are both confident and eloquent writers. They have both been published in different formats. This is a good review of Phonetic Zoo. Your enthusiasm is a blessing! Keep up the good work, mama!

    I loved watching your video, I only wish that I could read backwards so that I could see your zoo and wordlists. The way you have scaffolded the instruction and the program is not an easy task but you have done it seamlessly. Do you have any videos explaining the main IEW Structure and Style or Fairy tales unit? I would love to watch it if you do!

      Live2teach, I am sorry, I did that video in selfie mode and didn't realize the consequence of the mirrored video until all was said and done...That was a novice decision on my part. I will share with you where I got my word lists from...We are a Classical Conversations family and my daughter was in Essentials when I made this video. The Language Arts curriculum is Essentials of the English Language (EEL) and that curriculum include vocabulary words from the writing exercise. Well I pulled all the vocab cards from EEL workbook and sorted them into groups of 16 words. When it came time to do our "personal words" for Phonetic Zoo Spelling, I pre-recorded my reciting the EEL Vocab words as my daughter's spelling lessons. I emulated the exact format that is done by the narrator, and made my daughter's personal word lists into an independent spelling lesson, and she loved that it was mommy's voice teaching her lessons every time she came to personal words. That way she could still have autonomy with the spelling and Mommy could get other things done. I hope that helps.

    Hello. Thank you for video. I really enjoy! I have a concern. Is the program include digraph, consonants, syllables, cvc,cvvc, etc. Or its just the basic meaning program does not go in depth. Hope i did not confuse you. God bless

    • @feleciaredd5625
      @feleciaredd5625  Před rokem

      It is spelling and spelling only. It is based on roat method, repeating and repeating again, and that's because English spelling does NOT follow the rules of spelling often, and many words' spelling need to be put to memory because the rules simply do not apply to them. There are some cute general rules for each set of words tested, but, again, those rules just do not apply to many of the English romance language words. I hope this helps you. There are no diagraphs or diagrams, nor any other visuals. There are word patterns that the vocab is grouped in and jingles, like I mentioned above. That is all. But, that truly is all you need! It's a great program for learning English spelling.

    Do you also use IEW 's writing program? If so, how do you like it?

    • @feleciaredd5625
      @feleciaredd5625  Před 2 lety +2

      I was an Essentials tutor before I started directing Challenge in our CC community. And its been 3 years since I have been in Essentials and I still love it. I think it teaches so many more skill sets for writing than I have ever experienced as a student so many years ago, and when I ask brick and mortar students about writing, I sense many of them are not getting any writing training remotely close to the caliber of IEW. My daughter is a writer and now in Challenge B (which we just finished) we used IEW for all the research papers. I love IEW's methodology for teaching writing. And now, in Challenge, for longer sources, we use LTW (lost tools for writing) along with the IEW skills, they work wonderful together, especially for Exposition. I am very much a proponent for both of curriculums for writing, and the phonetic zoo is the perfect complement spelling program. They prepare a student well for the rigors of college papers. Are you using IEW now as well?
