      honestly the desktop version willl be good enough, along with a solid midi controller. i have the keyboard version, but i would be happy with either or.

    I have it too and love the polyphonic sounds. It is the perfect harmonic combination to my Sub37. One downside is, working with the build in sequencer is a pain. You definitely need either soundtower or codeknops Software to visualize the gated or poly sequencer. But hey, this is no reason for not getting it!!!

      ahhh, I was thinking of pairing this with my Sub37 too. Both classics!

    I only recently discovered this video of your demo...I'm blown away by your skill at the keys! You inspire me to play like your able to do with this REV 2 Not sure if you've done a Moog one demo, but you should!
    There's alot , thank God of great resources now with CZcams. But not many that showcase a talented keyboard player! Thank you, and interested in how long you've been playing?

    My favorite sounds on this demo was the bras sound and the sound after that bras. They really kick. I have also this instrument and may say that it has a chaotic compilation of preset sounds. But that also demonstrates the huge possibilities of sounds this polyphonic analog machine does have. There was many sound that did not inspired me, but others did inspired me. It can also sound very close to a prophet 5. You just have to now to adjust the oscillators and filters in the right way to get that warm and rich sound.

      How do you find it on fx and noisy stuff? I'm thinking of getting a more pricey polysynth and am curious if I would have any use for my Neutron still, which I picked up mainly for weird effects and textures.

    I’ve watched every demo on Rev2 I could find and none of them show much knob tweaking at all. The joy of a synth like this is in tweaking those knobs constantly. This is by far the best one I’ve found. Also would like to see someone manually making sounds on the fly as well subtracting voices and adding. So much to explore beyond just the presets.

    I was thinking about buying the ob - 6 but fuck this thing SOUNDS AMAZING !

    • @RayyMusik
      @RayyMusik Před 6 lety +2

      Tomas Dominguez Tomas Dominguez I was keen on the OB-6 as well, but after listening to some hundred YT vids, I went for the Rev2 - and have not regretted my decision for a split second. Yes, the Rev2 sounds AMAZING, it has 5 vs. 4 octaves and 16 bs. 6 voices. Although OB6/P6 may have a slight edge in live situations, the Rev2 is the REAL BEAST.

    • @shadowseal22
      @shadowseal22 Před 6 lety +3

      They are completely different machines. The P6 and OB6 are less about being powerhouses, and more about offering vintage poly tone (and with it the lack of modulation), with more modern stability. The Rev2 is much more modern (though it does a good p5 too), but programming it is much more involved. The trade off though is three extra LFOs, an extra envelope, delay on all the envelopes, waveshaping, sequencing, and a much more stout modulation matrix. People bitch about the DCOs, but if you are buying a prophet, or an Oberheim for that matter, you aren't looking for a Memorymoog. The oscs in the rev2 sound fantastic, and once the sweet spot of the filter is dialed in, it is indistinguishable from a VCO.

    • @WillieG1016
      @WillieG1016 Před 4 lety +2

      Raff 16. There is a lot of patches and presets that get stacked and split and you end up effectively only being able to use half the voices, making the 8 voice feel like 4 and in turn the 16 sound like 8.

    • @dash3dot
      @dash3dot Před 4 lety +10

      Maybe stop focusing on useless things like fatness and focus on the musical side of things. Fatness will not substitute poor sound design and hopelessly bland arrangements.
