- I liked this song the first time I heard it. It's about picking yourself up and carrying on no matter how bad the shit hits the fan - persevering in difficult times. This is something everyone can relate to at one point or another in their lives. In this context, I wanted to apply it to my favorite show - The Musketeers. I can see how unusually perfect the lyrics pertain to Athos. He has many inner demons to conquer and somehow, he needs to find a way to hang on and realize that although life sucks sometimes, things get better.

Why can't every man be like Athos? My heart 💔 breaks for him. Out of all the Musketeers he is the one that suffers the most. I love this show. I stumbled on to it, very sad it is no longer on air.

I can relate to this video and song in so many personal ways. Athos has always been my favorite on the show. He embodies the role of career soldier, royal blood, and strong leadership so well. As for demons or difficult times we've all been there at one time or another. But another way for me to relate to this is I'm a US Army veteran and retired from law enforcement to boot. Both of which the Musketeers in truth were. I'm also a history nut. The video in itself is a piece of art. Thanks for making it. Look forward to seeing others.

HawkFest RoG No, I am not looking at the wrong guys- I've done my research long before this show was ever thought of. As to what I was talking about- its the demons (aka personal problems) which we all face everyday of our lives- some small- some we need help in dealing with. If you understand what it is like to be a soldier- remember honor and service to our country and the men/women we serve with. Walk with pride in who you are and what you are doing- don't ever give up on your goal. As for royal blood- Athos's character- if you dig deep enough into the actual history does have royal blood from his father. And leadership comes from within, Athos does not actively seek out the position of leadership in fact at the close of season 2 he reluctantly accepts the Captain's position which he has been given. As Treville told him you do not seek it out but the men look to you as their leader so I chose you to fill my shoes. That's not quite verbatim but is the jest of it.

Athos is definitely no one's dream man, neither in the show nor in the books... An alcoholic with rage issues and illusions of grandeur, a misogynist who murdered his wife... Yeah, hard pass.
