  • Video of the Ersfjord Traverse that I did with my mate Nat Peters (www.trueexpeditions.com) in later July. For two days we scrambled along the skyline of Ersfjord on Kvaloya Island, Tromso, Norway.

    Awesome video. It was like we were along for the trip. What did you do with your pro from the first abseil? Did you leave gear behind?

    • @WildKiwiAdventurer
      @WildKiwiAdventurer  Před 4 lety

      Thank you!! It was a fun video to make, one of the best! It was permanently in the rock. There is a 6 pieces of pro and like 20 slings. Not the most ideal to abseil off others gear but there was so many slings and they really don't receive that much sun up here in the arctic, and also it had just been tested by people heavier than us 2 minutes before haha!
      Worth the risk but scary all the same

      Thank you! We just took cold food, cheese crackers, nuts and sandwiches. that saved the weight of a cooker

    Beautiful mountains bro some of the shots remind me of the alps out the back what do you reckon?

    Which parts did you need to use a rope? Would you say that it is absolutely necessary to have climbing gear with you or would it be possible without? Also what length of rope did you have?

    • @WildKiwiAdventurer
      @WildKiwiAdventurer  Před 2 lety +1

      Hello, you are obviously headed that way! Enjoy!
      I would recommend a rope, we abseiled off the back of Skamtindin and would not have down climbed it and I am reasonably experienced down climbing. There was one place about half way though we did an other abseil and that one you could probably find a way around. We carried one harness one belay device and one light weight 30m rope I think it was. The anchors have like 20 pieces of cord on them already so we used those. Take a couple of lengths of prussic cord to wrapping around boulders.
