In a little while from now If I'm not feeling any less sour I promise myself to treat myself And visit a nearby tower And climbing to the top Will throw myself off In an effort to Make it clear to whoever Wants to know what it's like when you're shattered Left standing in the lurch at a church Were people saying, My God, that's tough She stood him up No point in us remaining We may as well go home As I did on my own Alone again, naturally To think that only yesterday I was cheerful, bright and gay Looking forward to who wouldn't do The role I was about to play But as if to knock me down Reality came around And without so much as a mere touch Cut me into little pieces Leaving me to doubt Talk about, God in His mercy Oh, if he really does exist Why did he desert me In my hour of need I truly am indeed Alone again, naturally It seems to me that There are more hearts broken in the world That can't be mended Left unattended What do we do What do we do Alone again, naturally Looking back over the years And whatever else that appears I remember I cried when my father died Never wishing to hide the tears And at sixty-five years old My mother, God rest her soul Couldn't understand why the only man She had ever loved had been taken Leaving her to start With a heart so badly broken Despite encouragement from me No words were ever spoken And when she passed away I cried and cried all day Alone again, naturally Alone again, naturally
@shinewaradhammo3065 Beautiful. Thank you for posting the lyrics. A very sad song that describes many a people in the world. The hurt is sometimes seems beyond repair. But there is a “way” to get back home again, A “way” to be clean and be made whole again. No matter how far off the “path” you strayed, Or the distant place you’ve roamed, There is a Crimson PATH leading to the Fathers’ Throne Yes there is “His Way” to get back Home Again. Lucas 15:11-24 The Holy Bible
If people would just read their lives would be so much better off. This song got to #1 in 1974 based on several articles I read. What makes the song so beautiful is, the lyrics are relatable to people of all stripes. Good writing has no boundaries.
Guitar solo on keyboard? Oh well Gilbert's voice is still great and playing an electric keyboard and not a grand piano makes the song sounds completely different...by the 90's it was difficult to carry a grand piano to every performance not to mention an orchestra
SUS CANCIONES SON LINDAS.. PERO.....¿¿ SE FIJARON QUE CUANDO TOCA EL PIANO PRESIONA LAS TECLAS DEL MEDIO NOMAS?? .. A ESTE ARTISTA LE FALTÒ CARISMA EN SU PERSONALIDAD DURANTE SU CARRERA... OTRA COSA.. SU FALTA DE CONTRATOS Y ACTUACIONES TUVO QUE VER UN JUICIO QUE LE GANO A GORDON MILLS SU MANAGER Q LE AFANABA..(EL MISMO MANAGER DE TOM JONES Y ENGELBERT HUMPERDINCK).... ESO CONDICIONÒ MUCHO SU LABOR MUSICAL..

A quality artist. And no, this is not 1972. Rather, fast-forward by at least 20 years. And yes, more than 20 years later, this is a quality artist.
Seen him two weeks ago in motherwellx 💙🏴LEGEND
😂 a very emotional poignant song timeless classic for the bereaved god bless you all over the World 🌍
This kind of song and some other of music way back in 60's, 70's, 80's and early 90's are worth listening for. Today's music most of it sucks.....
Divas Live depends what kind of music you listen to, most rock and metal is great, even today
This Live ...

In a little while from now
If I'm not feeling any less sour
I promise myself to treat myself
And visit a nearby tower
And climbing to the top
Will throw myself off
In an effort to
Make it clear to whoever
Wants to know what it's like when you're shattered
Left standing in the lurch at a church
Were people saying, My God, that's tough
She stood him up
No point in us remaining
We may as well go home
As I did on my own
Alone again, naturally
To think that only yesterday
I was cheerful, bright and gay
Looking forward to who wouldn't do
The role I was about to play
But as if to knock me down
Reality came around
And without so much as a mere touch
Cut me into little pieces
Leaving me to doubt
Talk about, God in His mercy
Oh, if he really does exist
Why did he desert me
In my hour of need
I truly am indeed
Alone again, naturally
It seems to me that
There are more hearts broken in the world
That can't be mended
Left unattended
What do we do
What do we do
Alone again, naturally
Looking back over the years
And whatever else that appears
I remember I cried when my father died
Never wishing to hide the tears
And at sixty-five years old
My mother, God rest her soul
Couldn't understand why the only man
She had ever loved had been taken
Leaving her to start
With a heart so badly broken
Despite encouragement from me
No words were ever spoken
And when she passed away
I cried and cried all day
Alone again, naturally
Alone again, naturally

this is not 1972, he looks aged already.. it was only released in 1971..

This is from the 90's, not 1972!
Time so fast

Strings are perfect, but "dulcimer" tone from keyboard stank. Guitar only for this solo.
