were going to put this parade and film fest. on the bucket list! we come down from "black springs" Nevada when the crowds thin.. wonderful and friendly town.. ....happy trails...
Been there during the film festival. It's quite crowded with visitors from all over the U.S. My first visit was in 1964 on the way to Bridgeport and the USMC Mountain Warfare Center. At one time there was only one restaurant in town and it was open only Fri-Sat-Sun. Now there are plenty of accomodations and restaurants to fit all budgets.
Just had a another great one in 2016! The only festival in the world celebrated in the actual location where the films were shot. Over 400 movies and TV episodes in the Alabama Hills. Join us every Columbus Day Weekend.
Tremendously special place, will always have a very soft spot for this town and it's beautiful surroundings! Stunning, just stunning place!
In the year 2000 I moved from the big city to Lone Pine......love it here..
