Couldn't agree more! I grew up in the south, lived several places throughout the US while in the service, and I too find WA State to be the most beautiful by far. But, I haven't been to AK yet.
The best introduction of any state in the USA I have ever seen before. What a fantastic clip and also being able to listen to some one explaining the beauty of this state
I bought this video 20 years ago. Seattle has changed immensely. A second Narrows Bridge and a new Evergreen Point Bridge. god even the Kingdome is in the picture.
Great video - watched it countless times when it was one of the few HD programs KCTS broadcast in the early 2000s - please re-air it again so more people can enjoy it in its full HD grandeur.
Narration is WAY too flowery for me and ridiculous....describing the Olympic mountains...."startling the serene, complacent sky, pushing hard against an arching blue forcing it's way up through a reluctant ceiling and out into a disgruntled sea"????? please. Whoever wrote that drivel ruined this gorgeous film in my opinion. People of the pacific northwest are a hardy bunch of fishermen, loggers and hunters/gleaners. The guy who wrote that crap CLEARLY never lived here.
Truly we live in the best place on Earth .
Washington is the most beautiful state! And this is coming from an Oregonian.

wtfelten Yeah. :P
Also haven't been to Alaska, but some places in Washington give off that "Alaska" feel.
I agree and even more so because I am from the flat boring lands of the east coast. I love Washington State every time I visit.
This reminds me so much of "Over Washington" that was done in 1989. I do miss it out there. Just wish the political climate is so bad out there. 🥺🥺🥺

I love this documentary, but the narration is a bit pretentious, don't you think?

Beautiful imagery combined with hilariously cheesy dialog.
