I was thinking it was that episode. It seemed like the story took place in the second season which eliminates the first five episodes. The Revenge is the 12th episode and episodes 11 and 10 weren’t written by Larry David. So looking at episodes 6-9, the Phone Message is the one which seems the most unrealistic for someone to do and Larry David really did steal a tape out of a girls machine.

That's the most frustrating thing about most of the top level Podcasts. They get a great, amazing, legendary guest. I am super over the moon to finally hear an hour long talk about this person's real life. But instead the entire time the guest is interrupted by the hosts of the podcast. Especially annoying when the hosts of the podcast literally cut a story short the guest was telling because one of the hosts decided to make it all about their life-- then they just completely forget to circle back around to the original story the guest was giving and never finish it. So yes-- LOVE that this podcast by Howie Mandel actually allows the guest to give their full story from start to finish!

'Fly on the Wall' with David Spade and Dana and 'Conan' with Sona and Matt are the worst criminals of this behavior. Most guests never get a chance to actually finish any story they are telling because the hosts inevitably derail the conversation into something about their own lives. Then because of their ADHD behavior as hosts they completely forget about the original story being told by the guest and just move onto some other topic and the listener is left never knowing the end of the story the guest of the episode was telling.

So I’d watch it to kill time until the 8:00 PM shows started and it was the funniest sitcom I had ever seen in my life. Just the insane scenarios that kept escalating until a big pay off at the end of the episode that tied everything together was hysterical. I really liked that it was kind of over the top. My uncle used to love Seinfeld so much that whenever I'd see him, he'd give me a run-down of the last episode. He'd laugh so hard at the retelling and it was always the George stuff that got him laughing the hardest.

Every time I see him outside of Seinfeld he’s so different than that character…it’s probably the best acting job I’ve ever seen because my mind can reconcile the 2 personalities

I love that first story, but I've heard Jason tell it enough times now where I just wish someone would finally show him a list of summaries of the first 13 episodes so he could tell us which unrealistic story he's talking about!🙃

I swear in an older interview he said it was "The Revenge". The one where George walks into his boss' office and rants, insults him, and quits. Then on Monday he shows up again like nothing happened. He said he went to Larry and argued "Larry, this is ridiculous. No one would ever behave that way, or have the nerve to show up again on Monday." And it turned out Larry did that exact thing at SNL.

I think the episode with the ridiculous situation involving George that he’s referencing at 1:31 is Season 2 Episode 4 “The Phone Message.” Apparently Larry David actually did once try to replace an answering machine tape in real life.
